Additional info & updates

11/1: In at Miami

11/26: Getting very nervous watching other people on this website hear back who applied after I did!

12/5: Georgetown Status Check reads "Decision"...just waiting to hear what that decision is.

12/11: It's a no from Georgetown :(

12/12: My status went to "Decision" at Virginia...not optimistic based on Georgetown...

12/15: No from's a good thing I really like Miami!

1/2: Officially going insane waiting for more news.

1/9: Week #13 of waiting with no response.

1/14: Dinged at Penn.

1/17: Applied to Stetson - can you sense my fear and desperation?

2/1: Harvard rejection via email. I know I had to expect it, but this one stung.

2/4: Columbia rejection - no surprise there
GWU Waitlist - what a headache

2/25: Complete radio silence. I would really love to just move forward with Miami, but I don't feel justified until I get the last 2 decisions...or at least Emory's.

3/3: It's a no from Emory via mail. I was a little surprised, but really not that upset. Miami here I come!

3/14: Got an email from Stetson invited me to ASD...I guess that means I'm in? Also called American to see what's up and was told the decision is being mailed today or Monday.

Still don't think Stetson or American are better choices than Miami (or getting off the GW WL)....I just kind of want closure.

Thanks for the message! Good luck with yours, I'm sure you will do fantastic with that LSAT. :) I'm nervous too, since people are hearing from Fordham and I haven't!

good luck!

I definately think they'll give you a lot of money! Good luck!

Congrats on Miami
Saturday, December 22 2007 at 11:48 PM

Congratulations on Miami and good luck with the rest of your apps. I think you will get into American, Emory, and maybe GWU, and hey you never know, some of the rest might take you too! Good Luck!

Friday, December 28 2007 at 07:43 AM

I had 2 former law professors from Emory write good LORs, so I think that helped counter my LSAT score. With your LSAT score and Ivy undergrad, I think you'll be good to get in at Emory.

Saturday, January 05 2008 at 04:21 PM

I know what you mean about "going insane waiting for more news"! I literally check my watch obsessively waiting for it to be past 2:30, at which time I can be sure the mailman has come. Good luck this cycle, at least it seems that Emory has started handing out decisions for those that aren't auto-admits. Buena suerte! :o)

crazy apps
Saturday, January 05 2008 at 10:18 PM

just got back from crazy mexxxxico, ha. hear anything cool yet????

I know what you mean
Tuesday, January 08 2008 at 07:53 PM

My fiance keeps seeing people like 4RE and TheRealTruth and he thinks I'm a shoe in.. it drives me crazy!!! Maybe it's just that we are our own biggest critics, but I can't help chewing my fingernails off waiting for that elusive call. The only thing that keeps me moderately sane is knowing I tried my best and gave it all I had. Now it's up to someone to hopefully see the person behind the numbers and make a judgment call. :crossingfingers:: Good Luck!!!! And sorry for the long response, I needed to vent :oP lol

Re: Emory
Wednesday, January 09 2008 at 10:05 AM

Dying for an acceptance from Emory? Well, sorry, you're totally not getting in. Just kidding! You've got an excellent shot! Also a wonderful chance at American as well. I would tell you to just relax and be patient but honestly, I won't be relaxed until this cycle is over. We're going through the same kind of hysteria so the best we can do is wait it out together. Good luck. And no, the status checker did not change.

Friday, January 11 2008 at 07:42 AM

I'm so glad i missed the phone call because I'm sure I would have sounded ridiculously overzealous! lol. Good luck, I hope you get your call soon!!!! ::crossingfingers::

u got a 156 why lie
Monday, January 14 2008 at 11:23 PM

i know u got a 156, any spic with a 166 would get into G-town

I swear
Tuesday, January 15 2008 at 05:02 AM

Seriously people, I'm the only person on this website who didn't fudge my numbers. I swear! :(

Tuesday, January 15 2008 at 06:52 AM

Sorry to hear about Penn... ps. to "liar" Are you that petty that you feel the need to come on to someone else's board to spew your filth?! And guess what, just because he's Hispanic doesn't mean that he had to fudge his numbers because he didn't get into GULC. Maybe you need to worry about your own applications, and lack of intellectual depth. If your comments are any indication of what you have to offer as an admissions candidate, I can understand why you find it worth your time to go on your "Spic" hating crusade.

YAY MorningLattes to my rescue hahahahaha!

Sunday, January 20 2008 at 02:20 PM

Friday, January 25 2008 at 06:15 AM

yea i can put some stuff up there, i'll try to get it up there tonight. good luck

no worries
Saturday, January 26 2008 at 04:57 AM

dude!!!!: 1. ya got a 166 for pete's sake! You're def gonna come up big at some school.... 2. ya went to freaking you know where (a.k.a. one of the best schools in the country and arguably in the world) and survived 3. your work experience consists of managing difficult to manage engineers like me 4. lets suppose you do go the loan route. you'll study/graduate in DC or emory, get hooked up with a pimp job, pay off the loans in a couple years, and you'll be fifteen times further ahead than if you hadn't gone. you're def. not 100% #$%^$##$, and dont forget its only Jan still. The other schools are def. slow. I never heard back from anyone up north. ...saturday mornings are so boring, what else is there to do other than look through

Monday, January 28 2008 at 10:15 AM

i just put up some info. good luck

re: your fear and desperation
Wednesday, February 06 2008 at 06:42 AM

Stetson is an excellent school, ESPECIALLY if you want to do litigation or trial advocacy.

Wednesday, February 06 2008 at 08:03 AM

Did you take the December LSAT? My Emory status checker says I've been complete since 10/23 but when I didn't hear anything, I gave a call and turns out they bumped me to the bottom of the pile to wait for my Dec. LSAT score. Now I probably won't hear for months. Maybe the same thing happened to you?

RE: Emory
Friday, February 08 2008 at 02:22 PM

No news is good news. They always hold splitter apps longer than auto-admits or auto-rejects.

Monday, February 11 2008 at 08:02 AM

sweet, G-dub WL. make sure you send them a written letter of intent ASAP if you're really interested. I overheard a conversation this weekend and the guy was saying that they really really need to get that kind of statement from interested apps....

Best wishes!!
Thursday, February 21 2008 at 02:46 PM

for you!

Saturday, February 23 2008 at 03:58 PM

congrats on miami! one of my closest friends goes there now and loves it. and the lawyers i used to work for graduated there and loved it also (doesn't hurt they're very well off now...) the only notification i got from emory was an email saying i was complete. i got the acceptance packet (a folder with letters and papers) like two weeks later. but i had spoken to a rep. before i recieved the mail, and they said they wanted to get all the decisions out by the end of this month. you should try calling, although i have to admit they're touch-tone/calling system is annoying and tedious (especially compared to other law schools who pick up after the first ring...) g'luck! keep me posted :0) did you go to ucf?

Saturday, March 01 2008 at 11:40 AM

Thanks for the message, I would really like to go to any of the ones I applied to. I def want to be in at Columbia or UVA but they are ridiculously long shots. We will see. Good luck with the rest of your cycle!

Tuesday, March 04 2008 at 06:10 AM

I'm really sorry to hear about Emory! I'm very surprised, but I'm sure you'll love Miami!

Thursday, March 06 2008 at 06:07 AM

To me the strangest thing about your whole cycle is that you still have not heard from American.

any news??
Thursday, March 13 2008 at 07:10 PM

any news??? im totally bamboosled about your case...

Friday, March 14 2008 at 06:48 AM

Congrats on Stetson! At least it's nice to have another acceptance. Do you think you'll visit?

Tuesday, March 18 2008 at 07:37 AM

On Miami. Read about your cycle from your post on LSD. If you really want to end up in D.C. I'd LOCI GW or American. Seems like American is just YP themselves. Also, if you don't mind this recommendation, I'd look into some more schools ranked 20-40. I think you just got some though breaks in regards to Emory and many schools ranked even higher or around their rank would be glad to accept you. Anyway, GL with Miami if that's where you end up! I saw their DVD and it looks like an amazing place to study law.

see you soon...
Friday, April 04 2008 at 05:52 PM UM. I can't tell you how much in the same boat we seemed to have been this cycle....WL at American, rejected from GTown, and just wanting closure. I couldn't have said it better....this cycle was like a bad relationship! haha. Anyway, I'd like to chat if you're down. Email me or

Hello, I'm curious as to how Miami is going for you and if you are happy with your decision.
