Thanks for the interesting information. It has never been clear what minority group I belong to since every time I read up on this topic, a different group is assigned to me. This is the first time that I have heard that I would be considered Asian. I have also read that I am considered African American, but then also read that since I am from North Africa, I would be considered Caucasian. For my apps, I just specified that I was Egyptian and I will let law schools decide what I am. Good luck with your applications : )

Hey, Thanks for your advice. I'm using this as one of my soft factors since there is an under representation of hispanic female lawyers. Although I hope to be admitted into a Florida school, I think your suggestion is my best chance.

I don't know about EA. However, with ED you can always turn down the offer if accepted and go to another school. They only give you like a week or something like that to decide if you are accepted under a binding program though.

Little do you know that PS means almost nothing and to use the ethnic card you have to be in the same ball park with your scores. My prediction is rejections across the board...a deferral at Texas Tech and depending on how much you kiss their butt after you get deferred you might get accepted. You should consider applying to more T3 schools if you want a guaranteed admission.

just wanted to say good luck this cycle! I agree with you about the hispanic and reaches thing...i applied to univ. mich and ND as well with EXTREMELY low numbers because i figured maybe they would want some diversity in there. Im a lot smarter than my scores would we will see! again, good luck with everything!

Couple of things.. As for applying to more T3 schools.. I really don't see the point. I knew I would get accepted to St. Mary's, and in fact I have. I live in San Antonio.. There's little reason for me to apply to more T3 and T4 schools, when I'm getting accepted to one in my backyard. Why move? Humm... not sure if I really care what PS means, other than the personal side I meant it to infer. Thanx 4 the info. That will save me from using it in my thesis , if I ever write one, but thanks.. Sounds like that guy's a bit bitter about the application process, aren't we all, dissected into small impersonal numbers. Got notified via website of rejection at UT, letter in mail followed a week later. Yeah, I was airborne for 5 of those years in service.. Have I said it wasn't worth the trouble yet?? I was a glutton for punishment.. After my 1st tour in Iraq and afghan, I finally had enough. As for the Cleo program.. I am a member, as a matter of fact I attended a Cleo summer law program at IU. Hope it helps, probably not. Thanks for everyone who's been supportive, the admission process is a very humbling experience unless you scored over a 170 on your LSAT, but take heart, there's even more abuse to endure once we all journey to own respective schools, and become L1's. Sorry, I've been late in returning messgaes, I kind of forgot about the whole application process for awhile and focused on other more important isssues.

thanks for the suggestion!! i've actually been toying with the idea of sending in an application there. is that a school you're going to seriously consider attending? san antonio is definitely an awesome city! and the proximity to houston is a plus (i grew up in houston). looks like we have a few schools in common... best of luck with the rest of your cycle!! the waiting game is driving me mad, its nice to see someone who appears to still have their sanity!! :)

I have made my decision, I am attending U. of Iowa, on a full ride scholarship. I am so amazed, for those who didn't have the best LSAT scores, do not ever count yourself totally out of anywhere. PS's goes a long way, and sometimes so does real world experience. Mar 31.

Will do, prolly tommorow upon waking up. Though unless you applied to the evening part-time program it might not do much good. That's where I intially applied at SMU. Sorry about my earlier bouts of anger, I don't handle unwaranted immaturity well...

Oh man, Congrats on getting a full ride from Iowa! That's pretty amazing... wen did u get ur scholarship package? did it come with ur acceptance letter? cuz that's my only hold up... i'm cringing at that $50,000 per year. Otherwise I'd accept immediately, lol. Congrats again :-)!

My Mail is screwed up in my apartment complex. However, I think I got my acceptence letter to Iowa in early Jan, though I did not get my notice of my grant till late March, though it was dated Jan 29. Yeah I applied to and got accepted at SMU part-time/ evening program. It made sense at the time.
