Minority Status
Thursday, October 11 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the interesting information. It has never been clear what minority group I belong to since every time I read up on this topic, a different group is assigned to me. This is the first time that I have heard that I would be considered Asian. I have also read that I am considered African American, but then also read that since I am from North Africa, I would be considered Caucasian. For my apps, I just specified that I was Egyptian and I will let law schools decide what I am. Good luck with your applications : )

Hey, Boricua here too. Just wanted to wish you good luck throughout the admissions process!

TITLE REQUIRED

Couple of things.. As for applying to more T3 schools.. I really don't see the point. I knew I would get accepted to St. Mary's, and in fact I have. I live in San Antonio.. There's little reason for me to apply to more T3 and T4 schools, when I'm getting accepted to one in my backyard. Why move? Humm... not sure if I really care what PS means, other than the personal side I meant it to infer. Thanx 4 the info. That will save me from using it in my thesis , if I ever write one, but thanks.. Sounds like that guy's a bit bitter about the application process, aren't we all, dissected into small impersonal numbers. Got notified via website of rejection at UT, letter in mail followed a week later. Yeah, I was airborne for 5 of those years in service.. Have I said it wasn't worth the trouble yet?? I was a glutton for punishment.. After my 1st tour in Iraq and afghan, I finally had enough. As for the Cleo program.. I am a member, as a matter of fact I attended a Cleo summer law program at IU. Hope it helps, probably not. Thanks for everyone who's been supportive, the admission process is a very humbling experience unless you scored over a 170 on your LSAT, but take heart, there's even more abuse to endure once we all journey to own respective schools, and become L1's. Sorry, I've been late in returning messgaes, I kind of forgot about the whole application process for awhile and focused on other more important isssues.

thanks for the suggestion!! i've actually been toying with the idea of sending in an application there. is that a school you're going to seriously consider attending? san antonio is definitely an awesome city! and the proximity to houston is a plus (i grew up in houston). looks like we have a few schools in common... best of luck with the rest of your cycle!! the waiting game is driving me mad, its nice to see someone who appears to still have their sanity!! :)

congrats....

Decision Made
Sunday, October 21 2007 at 08:00 PM

I have made my decision, I am attending U. of Iowa, on a full ride scholarship. I am so amazed, for those who didn't have the best LSAT scores, do not ever count yourself totally out of anywhere. PS's goes a long way, and sometimes so does real world experience. Mar 31.

Gracias

SMU Withdrawal
Sunday, October 21 2007 at 08:00 PM

Will do, prolly tommorow upon waking up. Though unless you applied to the evening part-time program it might not do much good. That's where I intially applied at SMU. Sorry about my earlier bouts of anger, I don't handle unwaranted immaturity well...

Congrats and Thanks!

Oh man, Congrats on getting a full ride from Iowa! That's pretty amazing... wen did u get ur scholarship package? did it come with ur acceptance letter? cuz that's my only hold up... i'm cringing at that $50,000 per year. Otherwise I'd accept immediately, lol. Congrats again :-)!

Iowa

My Mail is screwed up in my apartment complex. However, I think I got my acceptence letter to Iowa in early Jan, though I did not get my notice of my grant till late March, though it was dated Jan 29. Yeah I applied to and got accepted at SMU part-time/ evening program. It made sense at the time.

Congrats!
