**********This Section will be used to keep people who check my profile updated. I have created in cronological order the LSAT section, FEE WAIVERS section, APPLICATIONS section, DECISIONS section, and finally my FINAL CHOICE section****************
LSAT:
10/19/07- Got LSAT score 170!
FEE WAIVERS:
09/17/07- Washington and Lee Fee Waiver
10/22/07- Columbia Fee Waiver
10/23/07- Virginia Fee Waiver; Duke Fee Waiver with Priority Track; Michigan Hidden Waiver; Georgetown Hidden Waiver; and Pennsylvania Hidden Waiver :) What a great day!!!
10/24/07- Vanderbilt Fee Waiver and Notre Dame Fee Waiver
10/26/07- Texas and WUSTL waivers... maybe I'll give them an application in December after I hear from Duke, Cornell and Columbia.
10/29/07- Successfully received merit based fee waiver from W&M after telling them about my interest in their school via email.
10/30/07- Fee waivers offered from University of Illinois and University of Arizona.
10/05/07- Fee waiver from Northwestern, but at this point I just can't see me attending that school over Duke, so I probably will not apply.
Schools I have Fee Waivers which I will probably not use, but may end up using them come December:
-Northwestern
-USC
-William and Mary
-Texas
-WUSTL
(I have zero interest in applying at the rest)
APPLICATIONS:
10/23/07- Completed LSAC applications for Columbia and Duke.
10/24/07- Completed LSAC applications for Virginia, Georgetown, Washington and Lee, Notre Dame, and Vanderbilt. And then later at night Cornell too.
10/27/07- Completed LSAC applications for NYU, Chicago and Harvard.
10/28/07- Completed LSAC applications for Penn and Michigan.
11/12/07- People will bash me for wasting my money, but tonight I Completed LSAC application for Yale. I can't think of a better way to waste 87 bucks.
I am done applying because DUKE came through. It's all about waiting it out now and seeing what my best option will be!
DECISIONS:
11/02/2007- IN at Duke! Via email! Go Blue Devils!!!
11/21/2007- In at Georgetown via snail mail letter. 2 for 2... Happy Thanksgiving!!!
11/27/2007- In at Notre Dame with a scholarship of 20,000 per year with the only requirement being that I remain in good standing. It came via snail mail and arrived on 12/01/2007.
11/29/2007- In at Vanderbilt via Snail Mail. It came to be on 12/03/2007.
12/05/2007- In at Washington and Lee Law via email.
12/12/2007- Columbia ED deferral via snail mail.
12/14/2007- Cornell accepted me via email. Thank you Cornell for giving me the option of staying in New York State... if I so chose to do...
01/03/2008- In at Michigan via email by Dean Zearfoss. The decision had been made since December 18, but my packet has probably gotten lost in the mail, so I emailed to ask. Here's to getting a new packet mailed out to me. GO BLUE!
01/14/2008- Thank you UPenn for waitlisting me. You were certainly my top choice these last few days and if you were to accept me I'd have more than likely rushed to your open arms. I still will if you let me in.
02/05/2008- Finally a new "decision", though it is really an indecision by Chicago. Held there. Hope I am let in.
02/07/2008- Harvard deferral. WOW I am happy!
03/10/2008- NYU rejects me! That school has it in for me. First they deny me in undergrad, and now again... I think my odds of remaining in NYC are very slim now.
03/12/2008- Yale rejects me... and I don't care :) Cornell just threw me 28,700 per year via scholarship. With that it jumps to first place :)
03/26/2008- Placed on Reserve at Columbia. I was holding out some hope since I applied ED... Oh well.
03/28/2008- UVA waitlisted me after making me wait since I went compete at the beginning of November. I withdrew within five minutes of opening the letter.
04/01/2008- Waitlisted at UChicago. I am at the point where I have no desire to remain on waitlists and attend schools at full price unless it is Columbia, Harvard or UPenn.
04/22/08- Harvard dings me via email. I knew it was going to come at some point.
FINAL CHOICE:
02/11/2008- Withdrew from Washington and Lee and Vanderbilt. Narrowing the choices down a bit.
02/25/08- Withdrew from Notre Dame Law. Down to only four schools I am considering now, but hopeful to have at least one or two more to chose from.
04/01/08- Withdrew from UVA and Chicago. Both were waitlists.
04/10/08- Withdrew from Georgetown today, got an email yesterday by Dean Cornblatt that they decided not to give me any scholarship money. Oh well...
04/10/08- What the heck I'm withdrawing the waitlist at UPenn as well tonight. I wouldnt go there without any sort of aid either. It's just Columbia and Harvard that I'd attend full price over the discounted price of Cornell.
04/11/08- My seat deposit check will be mailed to Cornell. It's all pretty much wrapped up now unless there's a surprise acceptance by Columbia or Harvard. Seeing as the odds of that are under 1%, it's safe to assume I'll be in ITHACA next year!

Good luck with your apps, looks like we have almost identical profiles.
Good Luck! Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007 at 9:13 pm
Good luck with Columbia ED! I've been wavering back and forth on whether to do the same thing. Good luck with the rest of apps too! Seems like you should have a pretty nice cycle.
yankees Wednesday, October 24th, 2007 at 11:52 am
Actually I root for the Yankees and Mets. If they were playing each other, I'd probably root for the Yankees though. My dad grew up in Queens and the Bronx and rooted for both so I inherited it from him. I root for the Jets and Giants, Rangers and Devils too.
safeties Friday, October 26th, 2007 at 5:37 pm
You've probably already thought of this, but unless you'd consider going there with a nice scholarship, I wouldn't apply to GW, Fordham, and BU without fee waivers. It's virtually impossible that you won't get into at least 1 top 14 school.
Thanks, Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 at 9:00 pm
I appreciate the compliment! I felt like it went well (I upped my grade to B+ after further thought), but I am trying to stay level-headed about it. Good luck on your cycle!
Thanks - Good Luck! Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 at 4:27 pm
Thanks for the encouragement - it looks like you're going to have a great cycle, too. I really admire your ability to get things in EARLY! Any tips to force myself to give up and just accept that there is no "perfect" PS or resume?? :P
Good lcuk! Thursday, November 1st, 2007 at 11:19 am
Good luck application twin. :)
Many similar fee-waivers... I didn't get Georgetown, W& L, or Penn, but did get Northwestern and UCLA. What does "hidden waiver" mean?
We have almost identical application schools. Similarly non-impressive SF's as well? Will be interesting to compare results. :)

New York Thursday, November 1st, 2007 at 6:51 pm
I don't like the big city so I am thinking I shouldn't bother applying to Columbia or NYU since I would be miserable at either place. I would take NYU by a long shot over Columbia though, don't have a fee waiver however :(. I do have one for Columbia but at this point I'm really just planning on not using it...
Congrats! Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at 6:48 pm
On Duke!
Duke Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at 10:38 pm
Congrats on Duke! Pressure's off now unless you're really desperately awaiting Columbia.
Dook! Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 at 8:51 am
Congrats on Duke! I know you're relieved to be IN at such a great school so early. Good luck with CLS ED.
... Tuesday, November 6th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
If only my PS would write itself, my applications would have been out in September.
AWESOME Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 at 12:24 pm
CONGRATS ON DUKE - DEFINITLEY WOULD LOVE TO GET AN ACCEPTANCE THAT HIGH UP! KEEP EM COMIN'!
I hear ya Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 at 12:33 pm
...but I had to have some "sure things" in there just in case - too bad I already applied and paid for the LSDAS report or I would have rescinded them. Oh well - let it ride and hell yea we will be congratulating each other many more times - what's the realistic number 1 for you???
Duke Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 at 1:32 pm
I got it 6 days after I was accepted. I don't recall there being any special goodies in it.
Columbia Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 at 5:42 pm
Didn't realize you were ED @ Columbia. I suspect you'll find your cycle ends up being rather boring. :) Why ED @ Columbia?
... Tuesday, November 13th, 2007 at 11:37 pm
BEST OF LUCK - Those seem like extremely realistic expectations! I'm pulling for ya!
Congrats! Wednesday, November 21st, 2007 at 3:34 pm

congrats! Wednesday, November 21st, 2007 at 3:58 pm

Good job with Georgetown.
You getting worried about not hearing from Michigan?
You getting worried about not hearing from Michigan?
dayum Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 at 12:38 pm
dayum...GULC and Duke already? you are going to have a kickass cycle my friend...I am jealous indeed! Congrats on years of hard work paying off!
Harvard Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 at 6:10 pm
Why you so worried about not being complete? At least you've heard from them one way or another. I haven't heard from Berkeley (where I actually have SOME chance) at all and don't know what to do.
And, think of it this way: as long as you're not complete, they can't reject you. :-p

Congrats Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
on your acceptances (and being done with applying!). I guess we both have a bit of time to wait it out now...gah - it's so nerve-crushing!
thanks Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
the email came at 3:20 pm EST. It doesn't seem like many people heard today, so there are probably more acceptances coming. Good luck!
Hey! Thursday, November 29th, 2007 at 11:23 am
Wow, I didn't realize I had comments until a friend told me to look today! You are following the same track I did--accepted at Duke first, then Georgetown. I'm sure Columbia is just a few days away! Good luck! I'm in NY currently as well.
Columbia Thursday, November 29th, 2007 at 7:01 pm
Good luck with Columbia, I assume you'll be hearing soon. I'm pronouncing my Columbia RD app dead on arrival but we'll see.
UMich Saturday, December 1st, 2007 at 8:07 pm
Did you check your Michigan status checker? I went to "Decision" this AM (hadn't bothered checking originally because it was a Saturday)...
Congrats Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 at 11:56 am
Damn, 3 acceptances to awesome schools! I am jealous bro, you are killin it!
Michigan Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 at 2:18 pm
Remember the process here... once you go complete they give your file to somebody on their committee. Also, keep in mind that my application package is decidedly non-impressive. If I got in it is because I am simply above their presumptive-admit criteria this year.
Then again, I might just be the first ding of the cycle. Moral of the story: chillax until we get to Christmas; if you haven't heard then we may have issues.

Clarification Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 at 8:50 pm
I meant to say that if I get in with our numbers & my non-existent SF's (I _struggled_ to find one or two extracurriculars to put down so those boxes weren't totally empty, like I forgot them), you pretty much have to be in also (given your, at the very least, existent SF's).
ND Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 at 11:15 pm
Tasty scholarship offer.
... Monday, December 3rd, 2007 at 1:39 am
Thanks for the good vibes. :)
All of our crying is kind of moot because the worst we're going to end up is at BIGLAW factory aka Duke. :)
That ND scholarship offer is very nice. The ONLY places that could woo me away, I think, from the T14 at this point are Vandy & ND (especially ND). Are you seriously considering the ND offer over Duke?
Which engineering would you have done if you could go back? What is your major?

hi Monday, December 3rd, 2007 at 2:20 pm
hi, are you still waiting for columbia ed? I haven't heard anything yet and was wondering if you think any more acceptances will be coming... also did gtown send your acceptance to your current or permanent address? Thanks and good luck.. looks like you already have some great options either way.
vandy Monday, December 3rd, 2007 at 10:28 pm
Congrats on Vandy. Hopefully Michigan is up next for both of us. I don't think I can take many more disappointing status checks.
Congrats on W&L! Friday, December 7th, 2007 at 4:49 pm
And all your other acceptances.
ballin Friday, December 7th, 2007 at 5:23 pm
5 acceptances including 2 T14 and Vandy? Dude, you should buy a lottery ticket because you are unstopable!
Fee Waiver Sunday, December 9th, 2007 at 3:08 am
Hey! I know this sounds like a crazy question, but how does one apply for a fee waiver?
fee waivers Monday, December 10th, 2007 at 3:25 am
haha yes thanks!
mich Tuesday, December 11th, 2007 at 11:23 am
Just be happy you've only been waiting for a month, I've been looking at Complete for almost 2. I'm glad Cornell came today to ease my pain.
coming soon? Tuesday, December 11th, 2007 at 11:26 am
I noticed that with the exception of UVa, so far I've gotten my acceptances in order by when I went complete. Maybe Michigan was just waiting for Cornell to keep the pattern going. (**Wishful thinking**)
columbia Wednesday, December 12th, 2007 at 2:55 pm
Sorry about Columbia. :(

Cornell Wednesday, December 19th, 2007 at 12:44 pm
Virus man, freakin congrats on Cornell!!!! I love that school. You are doing so well this cycle and you deserve it!
Congrats Wednesday, December 26th, 2007 at 1:15 pm

I don't need to keep you updated, I will tell you how it all goes down for me right now.

TY, TY!
*develops an irrational hate of Ohio State*
I sent an e-mail to those schools that was about 3 lines long. Nothing major. I just don't believe in holding onto acceptances and/or getting any that I know I won't have any intentions of accepting.

Thanks. Hope your acceptance is coming soon too.
... Monday, January 21st, 2008 at 8:11 pm
Yep! And they've been doing an excellent job at wooing me. It'll probably be the best school I'll get into, so I'm about 95% sure that's where I'll be. I know you're still holding out for those NYC options, so best of luck with those!
CLS/Penn Friday, January 25th, 2008 at 10:27 am
Thank you!!! This cycle has exceeded my wildest dare-to-dreams :)
I'm SURE you've got more good news coming to you...including a jump off the Penn waitlist. I just hope it's in time for whatever Penn ASW I end up at :)
