Additional info & updates

10/31: Accepted to Georgetown! Definitely did not expect this so soon. Came in a small envelope, about the size of an invitation or greeting card.

12/08: In at NYU! Came in a big manila folder.

12/19: In at Penn by phone call, packet to come later.

12/28: Email acceptance from GW. Guess I was complete there.

01/02: Phone call from Emory, accepted.

1/25: Denied email from Harvard. Oh well, NYU here I come...unless someone wants to foot my bill.

1/25: Acceptance email from NW.

2/2: Rejection letter from Stanford. Glad I got into my top choice before these schools started shooting me down. Otherwise this would really not be cool.

2/5: "Hold" letter from Chicago. Debated about whether to post "holds" at other schools since you can't really do that on here, and since I didn't apply ED anywhere I don't think I can technically be deferred. But deferred is the closest to what I currently am at Chicago, Berkley, and Michigan, so there you go.

2/8: Rejection letter from Yale.

2/13: "Hold" letter from Columbia. I find it interesting that I got into all the places I wanted to go to (NYU, Penn, NW, Georgetown), and have not been admitted to the places I did not really want to go to (Chicago, Michigan, Columbia, etc.). Certainly makes these "non-admissions" much easier to stomach. Now that my cycle is for all intents and purposes over, I've added my rankings. I have similar feelings about a lot of the schools, so I've put them on levels rather than a straight ranking system.

2/26: Rejection from Berkeley.

2/28: Waitlisted at Michigan by email. Will withdraw soon.

4/23: NYU here I come. Glad to be done and excited for the fall.

I just got Vanderbilt, but you didn't apply there...yeah, having this play out over like 6 months is really hard. Still, I'm guessing that you have a lot to look forward to - wishful thinking maybe since we're the same

harvard
Thursday, October 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

hey, sorry to hear about your rejection from harvard. you have amazing acceptances so far though! may i ask if you went to decision on the status checker? I'm trying to gauge if I have any chance at making my way onto the waitlist. It would be quite validating, lol. Anyway, congrats again on your amazing cycle so far, and let me know when you get the chance. Thanks!

nyu over penn

I couldn't make such a quick decision on the choice. I really hope either one takes me, but I think Penn would be a better fit, and is less likely- haha. Congrats

Berkeley

Did you just get the deferral ("passed initial administrative review") email today?

You too!
Saturday, May 05 2007 at 08:00 PM

Yeah, I haven't really been worried about you since you got NYU in early December, but I'm glad they've been trickling in...I'm holding out hope that you get Yale and Columbia too; I'm counting your acceptances as mine since our numbers are the same.

Congrats!
Thursday, January 17 2008 at 07:00 PM

On all your great acceptances. Are you going to go to NYU since it's your first choice?

Congrats!
Saturday, January 12 2008 at 07:00 PM

As you say, you've gotten into the places that you wanted to go to (NYU, Penn, NW, Georgetown). Please withdraw from Berkeley, if you really don't want to go there.
