thanks for the nice comment! i am totally jealous of your LSAT score. that's the score i was aiming for but sadly i dropped the ball (or fell off a cliff...) i went to school in a town about 20 minutes south of the canadian (bc) border. i spent many a'night in canada as a 19 year-old. my favorite city is vancouver by far. ever been?

Hey! Yea, I'm not really all that sure where I will go. Who knows if I would even get any moeny from them, but that could certainly make me think hard. Just wish I had an LSAT that was like yours! Good luck with everywhere you applied! Maybe I'll see ya in the future!

Why only Pacific?
Thursday, September 08 2005 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the comment on my profile, have you thought about some of the other California schools? McGeorge is nice, but there are a lot of other nice schools in the bay area that are around the same number range.

I'm in Alberta right now. I'm only going for Pacific in Cali cuz I have the best chance of scholarships there - funding is a huge factor.

Congrats to you as well! Maybe I'll see you at U.o.P! By the way, if you're living in Canada, is there a particular reason why you're considering law schools in the US?

thanks

Response to post on my board...

...I have not made a decision on Hamline. I am visiting Minneapolis in a few weeks to visit the schools. Right now the only school I am sure I am going to withdraw from is Cincinnati, especially since I received a CW acceptance. I will probably send it out by the end of the week. v/r

Thanks!

UoP Legal Scholar Day
Saturday, December 10 2005 at 07:00 PM

was great! I was really impressed. I had no intention of seriously considering UoP before I went to visit. But I had such a great experience up there. I spoke with friendly faculty members and 2nd and 3rd year students. Their alumni panel was helpful as well. Afterwards, I spoke with an alum who does some IP work for a good 15-20 minutes. He even gave me his business card in case I had any more questions. Even the Dean seems friendly and approachable! Now, I could just be rambling since you may have visited on the same day as myself. In case you did, what did you think?

U of P
Sunday, July 03 2005 at 08:00 PM

It was interesting. I don't think I'll end up there-mostly for monetary reasons. In a lot of ways it kind of reminded me of camp: very tight knit community. Everyone was very freindly, and I thought it was organized pretty well. If you are up there this Friday, let me know what you think.

I am not sure where I am going to go. Right now UoP is my top choice, but I applied late. I am still waiting to hear back from all of the otheres. Are you going to be attending Legal Scholar Day at UoP?

UoP
Monday, December 12 2005 at 07:00 PM

Geet, So, it's Pacific for you? Good thing you didn't choose Hofstra - they're dropping to 3rd tier this rankings report! Pacific lost 7 spots, too. Ole Miss, a school in which I'm interested, dropped 12! Still nothing from Case? They just awarded me a scholarship, which I freely admit I didn't deserve. That certainly sweetened the deal for me. Good luck next year, and show them all what a Flame's fan can do!

Thanks, hope to see you there. . . If you can you should try to go to the next Legal Scholars Day, the free sweatshirt is very nice!

Canadian Dollar
Monday, November 21 2005 at 07:00 PM

Because of the strong Canadian dollar you are going to save thousands of dollars when you convert it into US currency. Great timing for the strong dollar uh. :)

Sara
Friday, September 30 2005 at 08:00 PM

Hey Sara, First off, I found the American process much less of a headache in comparison to Canada. Do you know where you want to go to school yet? If not, narrow it down by which states you'd want to practice/live in. As for experience, I was lucky and got experience at a great firm in Canada that really helped out when doing references, personal statement, resume, etc. If you haven't written the LSAT, rock it cuz it'll help balance out the fact that you're from out of the country. If you concerned about funding, check out schools that are private because they don't have out-of-state tuition differences. Another nice thing about the US: scholarships. Other advice: take your time on the personal statement and really make it reflect you. Also, really check into the schools, especially if there are ones that offer specializations in areas that you're really interested in. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask! Good luck!
