Re: Nova

Hi, I have actually not yet visited Nova since I live in Illinois. Your numbers are better than mine, so hopefully you'll see an acceptance too! I have heard that Nova cuts off "regular" acceptances at a 150+ LSAT. Those with lower LSATs might be accepted though AAMPLE (summer conditional program), as I was. I wrote Nova a couple of times explaining that I would be very interested in their AAMPLE program, etc. Hope this helps--best of luck!

I just recieved your message... I have been accepted to Florida Coastal and waitlisted at Barry. However I am still awaiting a decision on Stetson, hopefully that helps. Good Luck

I think you'll get in. You have a great GPA and psychology is very attractive. I would call and schedule an appointment with Beth. Their phone# is 954-262-6100. Try to set up an appointment or do what I did and just go down there and say that you are a prospective student and you wanted to take some time to put a face to a name and Aneekh or Beth will meet you. (That is what I would do and it is what I did do). Just be very personable because that is such an intrical part during your visit. Smile. Sincerely, Scott

What's your top choice?

Keep your head up!

If you think you'd like going to FIU, I think you should give them a call and let them know that you're interested. You have a great GPA and I'm sure they'd seriously consider you.

FIU

It's a great school, and it's growing very quickly. They have a brand new law building, impressive faculty, and a diverse student body. I was pretty impressed when I visited. I don't know where in FL you live, but you should visit and see how you like it. Good luck!

Hey! Congrats on Barry! I have actually heard really good things so far about them. They had some trouble getting accredited for a while but now they are good to go. Their moot court team did excellent I hear, I dont know too much. But I am about to put an app in there. I have a question. Is there a way to find out where I stand on the waitlist for St. Thomas? I want to know if i should give up or keep waiting....Thanks

thanks

Do you know where you're going to go?

Good Luck!
Friday, February 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

I hope you get into FIU if you want to go there. With your GPA, it shows that you worked hard in school, I don't know why so many of these schools put so much stock in the LSAT. If I were you, I would forget admission for this Fall, retake the LSAT, rock it out, and go to a way better school. In the meantime, get some awesome soft factor like Teach for America under your belt. I don't know why, but looking at your numbers and posts make me think that you are a good person, and that these schools are missing out on a good candidate. Best Wishes.

Yea, its my #1 school. I know many people there that are very happy and it is also less than 10 minutes away from my home away from college so i can live there

hey!

Hey! Why do you like nova over barry? [i know it might seem like a silly question]

Nova

Congratulations on Nova yourself. Nova was my first choice and I have already put down my seat deposit. What did you think of the open house? I visited the school last year on a vacation and have not gotten the official walk through yet but I felt comfortable there.

i would pick loyola over nova anyday, ive been there, its technological but other than that its nothing to brag about, youll eventually get 2 really gay professors named burris and dobson and they fail a lot of people, if u go there good luck

Trolls
Sunday, December 17 2006 at 07:00 PM

I have found that trolls tend to go away when ignored. You can also report the guy to the site's admins and get him/her banned, if you are so inclined. Good luck at Nova! My ex is from the WPB/Ft. Lauderdale area and it's pretty awesome down there. Also, my dentist got his degree from Nova's dental school, so if I can trust my teeth to a Nova grad I'm sure that clients will have no problem trusting you with their legal matters. Which reminds me: How often does anyone bother to ask their doctor/dentist where they went to school?

Hey
Saturday, January 27 2007 at 07:00 PM

It depends. Luckily, the letter will be sent out on Monday. So, it will take about 4 days to get to me. This will lengthen the time. Nova said that they will make a decision next week. So, hopefully I wont have to give Coastal money, but if I do its not the end of the world. Hope to see you in the fall

How did you hear that you were accepted at St. Thomas

Tuesday, March 13 2007 at 08:00 PM

Your lack of knowledge is astounding. FIU has graduated 3 classes since opening its doors in 2002. Roughly 150+ people have taken and passed the bar. Does NOVA have more graduates? I'd hope so, it's been pushing T4 "graduates" out for a long, long time. It's funny to see you find reasons to "knock" FIU down a peg in your mind now so as to lessen the pain you'll feel when you are eventually rejected. Only a few weeks ago, you were championing the FIU cause; now you lust after NOVA. Enjoy your self-rationalization. The reason your lawyer "friends" had "positive" things to say about NOVA is they went there. Criticizing your own alma mater is like knocking your own kid; it hurts too much to point out your own flesh and blood is ugly.

Thank you!

URM
Tuesday, March 13 2007 at 08:00 PM

It sucks, I know. He's a URM. He'll go to ASD, attempt to impress ppl by informing them that he will make top 10%,(but keep his misserable admissions scores secret), join the Cuban club day one, and proceed to fail out after one semester. I've seen it all too many times. Frankly, admitting someone with his low scores does a total diservice to everyone that attends this school. I'd much rather they accept someone like you...then at least you can buy me that beer you owe me. Don't give up hope yet.

Looks like he gave up hope
Sunday, December 17 2006 at 07:00 PM

He deleted his LSN account.

Admitted students day (or ASD as you called it) already happened a long time ago. And honestly, who in their right mind would go around "informing people" at an admitted students day that he or she will be in the top 10% of the class? I seriously doubt that you are an FIU law student, and if you were one, you'd be busy studying your ass off for finals, not being the resident troll on LSN.

Sorry to use your profile for this, asincava, lol.. But maybe the applicant formerly known as Plus44 can give us a status update. I'm always curious as to what's going on with him since we kept up with each other's profiles throughout the cycle. So anything new +44?

Re: Plus44

Sorry about Miami. I think FIU will work out for you. They just seem to be taking it real slow with all those deferred apps. Stay positive.
