I'm guessing that it's because it's so early in the cycle. I don't go to school there.
- ecureuilAnd the fee waiver showed up on the last step before submitting the app. You can actually check for it through LSDAS that way. Good luck this cycle!
- ecureuilThe Duke status check email came this morning (monday), even though I got the acceptance on Sunday. Scholarship stuff won't come out until much later, I think.
- ecureuilhey you asked how i was notified i was complete at columbia. they emailed me that it was complete. they actually emailed me two different days saying my application was complete.
- booooyaActually, I didn't receive any notification whatsoever about the Chicago fee waiver. I only found out once I went to the app submission page, and found that the fee was waived. You can check on LSAC to see if you've got one too without actually submitting the app. The Duke status checker said that my status was changed the day after I submitted my app. Good luck!
- meemster6464By received, I meant that they requested my report from LSAC. Is that what you mean or did they actually contact you?
- ecureuilHi numbers twin! Good luck this cycle--I'll be watching your progress!
- CabraOn Duke!
- PinkTikiColumbia sent two e-mails each to two e-mail accounts to confirm completion.
- devilishlyblueI don't recall exactly when but it was nearly a month ago. It was a merit waiver.
- velikimajmunI don't recall exactly when but it was nearly a month ago. It was a merit waiver.
- velikimajmunOpps. Looks like I'm probably mistaken about being complete. I had put that because they have received all the LSAC materials, but now I realize that I'm probably not "complete" until they notify me of that status. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've heard of people being accepted without every having been told that their application is complete.
- waitn4answersThat early Duke acceptance must feel great! When/how did Northwestern notify you about the fee waiver? I'd like one of those, too - wonder whether they'd give me one for asking nicely.
- funkyduckThanks for the info - I just emailed NW. Good luck on all your apps!
- funkyduckI did, I'm hoping the call comes soon so I can de-super-glue my phone from my hand! ;) good luck to you, congrats on duke already!!
- ircbsbNo love from NW for me - must be some mysterious factor that I'm missing.
- funkyduckwhy the hell am i not complete at stanford.
- neverbornNo, no interview for me yet.
- PinkTikiI assume they're saving the best for last. ;)
- ecureuilNo, no interview. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, since my gpa is low for Harvard. You never know though...
- dranI've been trying to settle in for the long haul. I did apps early, but I feel like the process is still a month or two from ramping up. Hopefully soon!
- lmcplatteNo Harvard interview yet...I wish!
- engphysicsgalSigh...no email. But I don't expect one anytime soon (though I'm jealously watching those that have one and taking comfort in the fact that many do not).
- sandphireWHY am I not complete at Harvard?!
- neverbornNothing yet. When did they start doing them last cycle?
- eclectcismI'm in education...was teaching, now advocating. Harvard and I have a history (as in they've rejected me before - since then I've gotten a brand new LSAT score (other one was a few points lower and 4.5 years old), a new job, and completed a master's - I'm hoping one of those plus applying early (versus January) will make a difference)
- sandphireThe past two Fridays, I've just been refreshing my email in futile hope. Maybe next week for us?
- ecureuilOn Texas!
- PinkTikiCongrats on Texas! I was just wondering how you heard from them - also did you online status change once you were accepted? Thanks!
- xtine08Congrats on Texas. I'm in today as well. For the previous poster, it was via phone call, and my status has not changed.
- S2DNTthe scholarship notification came via letter within a week after the acceptance package. Congrats on your acceptance! it looks like you'll have lots of great schools to choose from :)
- ircbsbDid you get one yet? I went complete the same day you did and haven't gotten one either...
- jtx1983Have you heard from HLS for an email yet? I think they're being picky about the GPA, because all their acceptances so far have high GPA. Good luck and Congrats on the Texas Scholarship.
- eclectcismI never got the email. Apparently he sent it last week but my school's server was down and I never got it. He called me this week. I was kind of shocked and unprepared. I may be evidence that the phone call this early does not mean acceptance. I think he must be scouting me for his waitlist. They seem really intent on the 3.90+ gpas right now.
- eclectcismOn NYU!
- PinkTikiOn your acceptances so far - more to come, of course! Best of luck.
- rabbit9198Yeah, I think that is what happened too. One of my LORs was even from a Michigan Law alum, so I was a little surprised by it. At least we both have lots of other great schools to choose from. Good luck on all the rest!
- PinkTikiOn Chicago!
- PinkTikiIt's nice, isn't it? I'm actually out of town on a visit to another law school, but it's sure hard to focus on another school today!
- lmcplatteHopefully it won't be another deferral like Michigan. I'm not really sure what to think because it seems like a lot of people have gotten them. But I got my official NYU packet two weeks after the date on the letter, so hopefully the mail is just taking a long time from New York. Good luck and hopefully it will be good news for both of us! :) I noticed we've got matching UT scholarships too. Are you a TX resident too?
- PinkTikiI don't think that's a deferral, hopefully they're just taking a little longer with you. Good luck!
- PinkTikiI'm starting to view this process as rather cruel. I've heard absolutely nothing, which can't be a good sign. But I haven't been deferred yet. Or rejected. And I really just wish they'd get to it, or at least send a hold email to let me know they've still got my application, though I'm in favor of final decisions these days, good or bad. And nothing from Columibia yet either...
- sandphireMy held email must have been close behind :) I sent NU my actual tax return, priority mail because it just seemed wrong to send my tax info regular mail. I submitted both the FAFSA and Need Access on 1/31 - which was the date I finally had all my tax info. It took about 6 hours total, filing and forms all that night. When I originally asked about the deadline, they said get the FAFSA and Need Access in, worry about taxes later, if necessary. If you can get a close estimate, you might as well send it in. If you can't, it's probably not worth having to correct it later in order to send it in now, unless you'll miss the deadline. They recommend having the forms submitted by Feb 1, since it takes some time to process, but obviously mine didn't take more than a few days. And a belated congrats on Chicago!
- sandphireNot a word yet.
- PinkTikiI showed them my Darrow letter. They didn't commit to a change right away - basically saying they would consider it, but offered the increase later.
- sandphireOn Columbia!
- PinkTikiEither Texas or Harvard.
- PinkTikiHey numbers twin, looks like we\'ll both be going to the same school too. I\'ll be deferring for a year but hope you have fun at CLS this fall.
