Hey- Miami notified me of a waitlist via e-mail. About a month ago, they sent me an e-mail telling me to check my account online for Miami. When I logged in, there was some type of letter that basically said that my credentials put me in a category where I would be re-considered prior to April 30, which is basically a waitlist.

Hey! Decent chance I'd attend FIU, FAMU amd FIU are two of my top choices after CUNY. I want to go to a cheaper public interest school. Congrats on your acceptances and $$ so far, I'm sure you'll be getting a lot more!

When ypu received a scholly to florida coastal did they send an email after changing your status checker? THey changed mine to admitted but did not send an email with a possible scholly offer.

or get an mba and a jd from a school that offered you a scholly, that way you can do whatever you want in any arena!

Hi, I received an email with a CANE ID from Miami about a week and a half afer I applied (I think I may have also received an email telling me that they had my application but that they were waiting on the paper version for it to be complete). There was no status checker or anything else. After they gave me the CANE ID the next email I received told me to log on to their system because there was an important message waiting. When I logged on a congratulations message automaticallly popped up.

Their loss!! :)

Hey, congrats on you're acceptances! I have similar numbers and was wondering when you were accepted at Barry, did the status checker show "Seat Deposit" at the bottom before the actual status changed? I know I'm overanalyzing but I'm sure most on this board can relate to the anxious feeling!

Yea, I was really bummed and incredibly confused especially since I was accepted and subsequently enrolled in two graduate certificates through the law school. I'm good enough for those but not the JD?

Unfortunately, the rejection (via status checker) specifically states that the "decision is final and not up for appeal."

Nope. I've been complete longer than anyone else on this site (per the applicants tab) and I've heard nothing. At this point they are serious risking using a solid student due to their ineffectiveness to manage applications. I'm seriously wondering if this is how I could expect to be treated during my education there. I guess we'll wait and see...Is that you top choice as of now?

I figured I'd ask because it looks like we may have similar concerns with FAMU (cost vs other schools, etc). I notice that you're white as well, does this concern you at all with being considered a minority on campus? I honestly have to ask because it has crossed my mind. I feel as adults we should be able to discuss such issues/concerns without people screaming race, etc. Good to hear from you, heck-we may end up being in the same classes...

Hey Hopeful, I am considering FAMU too. My wife and I plan on visiting Barry and FAMU in early April. As a Florida resident, I would be crazy not to at least consider it. Have you by chance been to Barry yet? Thanks/Chris

LOL But on anoter note, they actually just sent me an email telling me I was on hold and will be rereviewed for "SPRING SEMESTER"! LOL that's comical. I don't think I'm all great and all but I've gotten into some better schools than FAMU and definetely didn't expect that. They can keep their spot, because tomorrow I'm removing myself from consideration. I'm visiting Barry and will tell you how that goes. Heck-we may be classmates. Just curious...Why would you take Florida Coastal over Barry? If you look at the charts, Florida Coastal has been way more free with their acceptances, and plus I don't know about you but I've been getting calls and emails about housing which I find weird. Your time seems the same as mine, are you a Bull too?

Have you seen the school? It's absolutely beautiful! The campus is gorgeous and everyone is SO friendly. With that said, it is VERY regional and from speaking with current students, the degree really will get you a job in Connecticut but it is nearly impossible elsewhere. Just thought you'd appreciate a heads-up from someone who has seen the school, spoken with administration and conversed with current students.

Nothing yet... I e-mailed inquiring as to what's taking so long. The response was basically that all decisions are made before the end of June. LOL. Nothing like taking the cake for being the slowest EVER! I'm actually thinking about doing the whole transfer thing also. I really want Seton Hall - by that point, I'll have two graduate certificates done through their law school plus some kick ass 1L grades (hopefully). I don't know how tough it is to transfer it, but really I loved the school and the coursework in health law is second to none in my eyes. What are you thinking of doing for 1L?

No work during 1L for me... I really want Seton Hall and am thinking of trying to transfer in. I'm thinking of doing 1L at Touro and then transferring.

I might... but CUNY is in a huge transitional period right now and I can't see myself being happy there. I think I'd be afraid of not getting accepted as a transfer and then being 'stuck' at CUNY. CUNY makes decisions until mid-June which is annoying... I guess I actually probably would for cost-effectiveness, bust my butt and put in a couple of transfer apps even though I really want Seton Hall just to secure the fact that it's only 1L.

Definitely still apply to Southwestern, $12 is worth it and they have one of the best entertainment law programs in the nation if you're interested in that. My friend said that there was an extra statement they asked for in the application that I think I missed? About why we wanted to come to Southwestern specifically. I think that coupled with my criminal record did me in. Go for it! Also consider Golden Gate University Law, they have an excellent nationally recognized public interest program, fairly easy to get admitted and relatively low tuition costs.

Yeah, Im pretty much between my Boston and LA area schools. It's gonna be tough to make a decision w/in 2 weeks but that's what I'll have to do. I'd also love to hear from CUNY sometime soon cause I still want to go there, but I don't know what's taking them so long. What about you, still waiting on FAMU?

That sucks, is your Barry deposit due soon? And I'm not sure if I'd pay sticker for Southwestern. I'm going to ask them again to see if they'll help me out, but we'll see. Also, I'm supposed to interview for SCALE, so if I do that it would probably be a little cheaper...

The told me about the "Hold" via e-mail and then they just notified me about my acceptance via e-mail as well... Said that I'll be getting a letter in the mail shortly. My online app status says pretty much everything the e-mail said as well. Good luck with everything!

You have URM numbers but your not a URM. Its going to be interesting to see what happens in your case.
