Hi, I also graduated from Berkeley (this makes me smile). You have much better numbers than me. I didn't do ED at Hastings (I don't think my chances are really that good anyway of getting in there). But I definitely wish you the best of luck getting into your first choice. I wouldn't even bother applying to Golden Gate, the school has major issues, and I don't think you would want to go there (even with a full scholarship). You've got strong numbers, you will get into a top school. Great seeing another bear! Go Bears! (although this season has been one of major disappointments)
I'm hoping the EC helps @Hastings, I figure we're marginal. Of course, your 165 puts you in a much higher % accepted bracket than my 164- one stupid question! Oh well... Best of luck! I'm really excited to hear from them. I'm hoping the LSAT @75th% helps. Living / studying / working in SF would be GREAT! Good luck! I'll update my profile when I get the 'complete' e-mail from them and when I hear anything (probably deferral...).
how difficult were econ 101a and 101b, and how much multivariable calculus should i know before taking those courses?
as far as apps go - except I'm not appying to NYU or Columbia.. Your LSAT score is much better than mine...what's your first choice (do you have one?) Mine is Hastings/Berkeley. Good luck! Maybe I'll be seeing you at the same lawschool!
congrats on your first admission~! I was admitted as well and was wondering if you were offered any scholarship?.. we both have simlilar numbers (mine 164 & 3.34 from UCLA) Best of luck on rest of your schools
I know.. only reason I applied was b/c of waiver.. but full ride is def tempting (just have to maintain 2.0 right?)
Who is that?
thanks for your comments. your numbers arent bad either; i'm sure you'll get into most of the school that you applied for. good luck!
Are you still not complete at Davis?
Congrats! Bummed about deferral. Hopefully I'll join you in regular admission!
Well done! Hastings saw your merit not shown here. I am glad that I have a good feeling about you all along-:)). The next challenge....get a 3.45 gpa and be in the top 15% of your class and you will rock. Has
hey man. congrats on hastings! its my dream school...hope i get in!
theyre giving me a scholarship and they said its cus of my gpa. its definitely gonna affect how i make my decision, but im still holding out for hastings... congrats on your acceptance there!
you were in at hastings the whole time...... congrats, hastings is sick.
i dont know, i just feel like it is a good fit. i know some people who went there and loved it. i also loved it when i went and saw it. boalt is awesome, but i doubt they would give me the time of day. im really hoping for hastings and hope my LSAT (which is at their 25%) can be overlooked.
thelawchild withdrawn from the only other application filed at UC Davis. tough decision on housing--priority dorm, rent or buy (
...on hastings! i'm super stoked i finally received my first acceptance letter. you'll love sf... wait... you're from the bay right? i am! i think i might have to copy your idea of the moet with the mom! ;o)
hey remember me? I left you a post while ago regarding UST.. N E ways congrats on your acceptance at hastings~!! looks like we were getting responses along the same timeline xcept for hastings =( (UST, SD, UOP)... I really hope I hear from one of UC schools too~
Thanks for your good wishes... I don't necessarily have a top choice but I would really love to get into BC/BU. Hastings is certainly up there too. A lot of my buddies from school are from the Bay Area, so I've been up there a few times and absolutely love it.... Good luck w/ the rest of your cycle!
San Fran is a great city, I love it. When considering housing options be sure to determine what your priorities are i.e.; living close to campus, networking like you suggested; getting away from school during finals; experiencing san fran and all it has to offer; getting involved in the clinics and the courts; space; etc. BART is a great public transportation system and ideal for students who want to live across the bay in Oakland, Berkeley or Alameda. Be sure to take advantage of all there is while in san fran. Good Luck!
yo, how did ucla notify you of your complete file? mail, e-mail?? thx.
thanks for the comment - its crazy, i do so well on teh practices but just got so anxious in the real thing. are you def goin to hastings?
Congrats on Hastings! And good luck on Davis and Boalt!
Acceptances after your admittance to a binding Early Decision agreement are each one a rejection for a person who might be dreaming of entering that school.....I can see you are going to be a great lawyer....
I hear what your saying...and yes, i hate the 180, 4.0 people too.. I am still waiting for my dream school acceptance, I'm glad that you were admitted to yours...
Actually, I'm still thinking about where I want to go... Hastings vs Santa Clara. Are you set on Hastings?
yeah, i know that hastings is the higher ranking school... but i might be interested in getting a jd/mba (which SCU offers)...
Thanks for the post. You seem fun/a bit nutty. Congrats on your acceptance and enjoy your bottle o' Moet.
why are people being punks about the way that youre withdrawing? it seems like youre going about it the right way. and at the very least they should have the balls to put their name with what theyre saying. but that's just my opinion.
Sorry; haven't been at lsn for a long time, just saw your post. Be delighted to "chat."
I never actually got a notification from them about my aid, I was checking the online "electronic award" thing (you can find the link off the Financial Aid page) and that's where I found out.
Sorry, I didn't see your comment before. The $7500 grant showed up on my financial aid offer that was mailed to my address. They didn't communicate it to me any other way.
Hi, I hope you will be able to help me to get into law school. I am next in line on a waitlist and I noticed you were accepted to the University of St. Thomas, if this isnt your first choice or you are not planning on attending and have indicated in the past that you were planning on attending, could you just send a quick email, indicating your intentions not to go to Law School at the University Of St. Thomas to LAWSCHOOL@stthomas.edu and c.c. have2463@stthomas.edu (thats me) This good deed to help a stranger will Im sure be returned to you at some point. Thanks so much.
Quick Question: Why did you think you were less competitive at Davis than Hastings? A 6.9 index score for Davis almost guarantees admission; its right at the 75% mark. I want to go to Davis, so your results are perplexing to me. Let me know if you have any advice for this future 1L! Ben.
congrats on the 165! i think you have an excellent chance of getting into both hastings and davis with a score like that. have a great cycle!
