Acceptance came in the mail. I got it a few days after Christmas.

I haven't recieved any information from Samford about $$$... does anyone know if they offer it at the time of acceptance or maybe some time later?

congratuations on samford....i believe they offer after acceptance (my friend got in a few weeks ago, got scholarship info a week after.) i also applied there and got a letter today indicating i have an account where i can login to computer services...but no acceptance yet? did this happen to you as well?

I didn't apply to Mercer because I really don't like Macon and I'm willing to give up some prestige for a town I really like, DC, Birmingham or Athens.

I also got accepted.. Are you strongly considering it? I'm going to visit this week. Congrats!

I"m not sure. I'm in Macon right now and my Mercer visit is tomorrow along with GSU. I think GSU places better as far as jobs go, so I'd probably pick GSU over Mercer

After visiting both schools, I'd definately go to GSU over Mercer... I don't think it's lookin very good though because I applied so late and my LSAT score is so low. I talked to the director of admissions and she said that there's a committee meeting this week and the last one is in 2 weeks or so, and that it's "very competitive"-- in other words "your scores aren't high enough to apply here this late.." haha Good luck to you!

I had planned to go to the reception on the 21st, but then I realized I had a test in my class that night, so doesn't look like i am going to make it.

Any luck finding out about Mercer? I am trying to make a decision and know very little about Macon or the school but am definitely intrigued.

Which way are you leaning right now? I went and visisted Mercer last weekend, and actually really enjoyed Macon. Of course i don't let myself not have fun in places like that lol. How was the admitted students reception for Mercer last weekend?

haha.. thats along the same lines as the letter i received from them except mine said we have placed your app on hold and we will try to reach a decision by May.

I went to the Mercer reception and I am in love with the school (I might be partial b/c I went to undergrad there). But it is very close knit and while Macon is definately not a city it is not totally dead and for those weekends when you aren't studing and really want to change scenery Atlanta is only an hour away. I am familiar with the area and can answer questions for you. Also Mercer does have a very good reputation especially in Georgia. I have talked to people in various areas in the state through my job and they all think highly of Mercer Law Graduates and like the program offered there-especially the Legal Writing Certificate. Also since it is a small school the alumni network is really good.

Hi! I was at the reception as well. I believe I am falling in love with mercer more and more these days. =) I was wondering, where would you suggest living? Thanks for your comments and I may see you there next fall.

Their last cycle was supposed to start the very end of March, so you probably were held over till the last cycle for review. I'm not sure how long it usually takes but I know this is their last one so you should hear back soon.

Congrats on the GSU acceptance. I was checking the online status page all week. Mercer seems to be higher ranked by US News, but from what I hear GSU has a better rep here in Atlanta. I think either school would be an excellent choice.
