Extra Curricular Information

12/3... Decision at GTown
12/7....Still no letter...hmmm...
12/10..Deferral from Columbia. I didn't expect to get in, so this is ok news- at least I still have a shot!
12/11..Today received the admitted students day invitation from GTown-- I'm assuming this means I'm in! (Although I still don't know if I got in FT or PT) VERY excited, this means I'm really going to law school!
12/18...Finally found out today that I was admitted to PT division. Letter said nothing about FT. I think I was a border admit for FT so I was accepted to PT. Still, very excited and would be happy to stay at my job during law school. Glad to finally know and excited about Gtown!!!
12/20...Received e-mail acceptance from Notre Dame and scholarship, amount posted is over 3 years. The scholarship offer is really nice; I will be taking a very close look at Notre Dame. :)
12/28...Decision at Michigan! Will be harrassing the mailman for the next few days...
12/29...Received big blue envelope with acceptance, still can't believe it!
1/17...no news for a while....
1/28..."On Hold" at Northwestern. A little bit surprised since I have work experience and flew out to Chicago to interview on campus... Oh well, I would have probably picked Michigan over NU anyway so it works out

ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

Chiashu percentages listed next to school.
Also, I applied FT and PT to Gtown.

Good soft factors (I think...)

I applied RD for FT. I'm really curious to see what the decision is, although I already got into my number one (UMich), so all the pressure is off. How bout you? Is GT your first choice?

Yeah, I think I'm lucky that I live just a couple miles away...and that I had a roommate who took it upon herself to courier my letter to me (through an employed third party) at happy hour. Best of luck!

I stalk the mailman whenever he comes within 3 miles of my apartment but so far no letter from them yet. Actually... didn\'t check today, but their website says we should be receiving it between a week to 10 days right? Good luck with your decision. Looks like we\'ll probably end up hearing around the same time.

NYU is indeed high on my list since I'm interested in international law. An acceptance from HYS would make things interesting, but I'm not counting on one with my numbers.

Thank you for the kind comments, I really appreciate them. I would apply to a few more T14 schools, but I went to a poorly ranked undergrad, and would probably have little success.. More importantly, congratulations on the GT acceptance, that school is beautiful. Also, congrats on the Notre Dame scholarship- you must have great numbers. Happy holidays and good luck on the rest of the cycle!

Congrats! You've got three great acceptances already. I'd love to get some detail on your numbers, since we have so many schools in common. Shoot me an email if you wouldn't mind talking about it.

  • school choice?
  • Sunday, October 19 2008 at 06:04 PM

so did you pick michigan or cornell? or elsewhere? i'm really hoping for either cornell or michigan, ... leaning towards cornell actually, but still up in the air. any advice or insight would be appreciated. :) (of course this is all assuming that a 170/3.5 will be good enough for those schools this cycle... which might not happen).
