Congratulations on the IU Indy acceptance... The city is not that bad, its a manage-able metropolis. Main demographics are pharmacy corps, banks, and health industries and a unique strong mix of black and white citizens and Latino's are on the rise there but in increments... There are lil segments of the town like any metropolis, two main hood's, a side town where most of clubs & bars are, racetrack borough, and the wealthy side..... Your graduate work is rather intimidating, I'm finishing my M.S.Ed and flirted with doing the MBA & JD move but since I have to teach by day I think I might just go with J.D. solo....why did you cop that M.S. in Accounting after your MBA? I haven't lived in Indy for easily 2 decades so I can only advise you to abandon any houses BY IU-Indy, its on the edge of the west ghetto so keep that in mind, indy has nice burbs though if you fancy that thing....

Thank you for the encouraging words! And I have to congratulate you on your big acceptance to IU Law, thats wonderful! Wow! Your education credentials are very impressive. Im in a similar position as youolder applicant, graduate degree, 10+ years of work experience and poor standardized testing scores (namely the LSAT). Im hoping the schools Ive applied to will look beyond the test score and see that I bring other things to the table. In any event, good luck with the rest of your applications. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your progress.

Happy holidays to you as well and thanks for the kind words. I may apply to a few more schools--2, maybe 3, but nothing more than that. Applications are just way to expensive and realistically I'm not in a position to move far away from home, though I'd love too.. lol.. So, what other schools have you submitted applications to? Also, have you submitted an addedum explaining your LSAT/Standardized Testing performance?

I appreciate your kind words. You did tell me to get busy and I did not ignore your prompt, I just got caught in the LSAT hype and relegated myself to not even try. I have been inspired by your profile as well and u are right, I SHOULD KNOW BETTER than to listen to the haters. I almost gave up on the law school dream because I hate to fail and ASSUMED that a low LSAT = failure. Now, I know better and appreciate your assistance. I am working on the PS now and have 2 recommendations, looking for one more.... I will keep you posted to the progress.....Thanks again haitian

just read your msgs on the wall. it seems like you need info about renting a place in indy. i have lived here for about 8 yrs. (and like yourself i am an immigrant.) Standardized testing is my worst enemy too! well we have too much in common dont we haah LOL. I can recommend some solid places for renting here in indy. its a relatively cheaper city to live in. I live right on campus like 0.9 miles away from law school building. Drop me an email and I will be more than happy to help you figure out your options.. My advice is do not rent an apartment its not worth it. You can get a house for MUCH cheaper. Then get some roommates and live for free.

I really appreciate your words and encouragement. The least thing I want to do is deal with those type of "scholars". I am proud to be Latino and I am also proud of all my accomplishments. They do not know me and dont know all my work, publications, and trips abroad. I am also really proud of you and the fact that you got accepted in a really good University. Yes......we are succeeding and making a difference...there is more than an LSAT score and good institutions look at those other factors. Keep in touch!!!!!!Best,

- latino08

If you did, you not be able to back out of the acceptance at IU and are bound to withdraw from the other schools. I am thinking about that but the question is "what more info can I provide?" I have a full time job and 5 classes so I really don't have time for anything else.

Hi Haitian, I took all of your advice with no harm. The reason being that I will only be applying to these schools in the east coast, specifically in NY is because I will be getting married in the Spring of \'09.\' Therefore, I am a bit limited as to where I can go to school.
