Additional info & updates

9/29/07: I'm currenty in my senior year of undergrad. June was a horrible LSAT experience for me, i just took the October '07 test and hoping for the best. I felt like I improved this time around, but you never know, this test is surely capable of making anyone look like a fool.

12/20/07: Its a tragedy, I think life is pretty much over for me now. I took the LSAT for the third time on Dec. 1st, and scored a 148. I gave my entire soul for this exam in 2007, and I simply could not will myself out of the 140s. I am in dire straits right now. I can only pray that I'll somehow sneak in to FIU. I have applied to a bunch of schools, and I really want to leave South Florida, because I lived here all my life (never seen snow before). But in the end, it always comes down to money, and FIU would make the most sense for me in this case. But its going to be a real reach, I don't have strong enough credentials. I seriously need a prayer.

1/7/08: Accepted to Valpo Law! (Thick white envelope) The fact that it is located just 50 miles southeast of Chicago is pretty appealing, but I'm gonna have to wait and see. I have until April to send in the deposit. I'm 2 for 2 so far, with 24 more decisions remaining.

1/17/08: Got an email from Akron letting me know that I was deferred. They also gave me the option to have my application reviewed as a part-time entrant, and I told them I was interested because they give you the option to switch to full-time if you're accpeted. We'll see what happens. In a way I feel this was a positive, Akron was a pretty sizable long shot for me, and they didn't flat out say NO! Hopefully this good karma carries over to the other schools. The waiting game continues.....

1/25/08: Got accepted to St. Thomas University School of Law (thin white envelope). Finally got some love here from my home state of Florida. I'm a little bumbed at the fact that there was no word in there concerning money, but I have till April 15th to decide whether I wanna attend. This is just another safety school in my back pocket. I have a visit scheduled for Jan. 30th down there. I have to continue to wait things out..

1/29/08: Accepted to Nova thru their AAMPLE Program. It's a conditional program that makes me take a few courses in the summer that I have to pass in order to enter the fall class. Thanks, but no thanx Nova. It's not that the program is hell or anything, but I think there are better options out there for me. Five decisions are in so far, still no REJECTIONS......gotta keep the momentum going, things are getting very interesting.

2/4/08: The party is over...My first rejection comes from Albany...

2/7/08: Accepted to Akron Law PT/day after getting deferred for FT. Will be placed on a waiting list for the full-time program.

2/11/08: Accepted to New York Law School thru their AAMPLE program. Same deal as Nova. I like this school, but I just dont know if I can cough up the type dough it demands

-Accepted to University of Dayton School of Law via email. The state of Ohio has shown me some real love so far. Rejected from Buffalo. This one hurts a little. Cheap out of state tuition, and solid ranking made it attractive to me, but oh well........

2/14/2008: Accepted to Florida Coastal!

2/15/2008: Rejected from Marquette. Everytime someone says no its stings a little, but this one was not a surprise at all....

2/16/2008: Deferred at FIU! This is my number one choice right now. At this point, I'm just happy I wasn't rejected. Oh boy, things are getting serious now...We'll see what drama unfolds. I'll have my fingers crossed, and I welcome any words of encouragement out there.

2/19/2008: Accepted to Texas Southern University School of Law!

-Accepted to Cleveland State University thru their LCOP program. Although its only one summer course, I really didnt want to have to spend money on classes this summer. I wanted to spend $$$ on some pre law school vacation traveling during those months. I deserve it!!

2/22/2008: Accepted to Saint Louis University School of Law Summer Institute. I'm happy by the fact that they pay for program, plus the success rate of the program is pretty solid. But this is still a conditional program, and i really desire a relaxed, stress-free summer. Thanks for considering me SLU, but im going to have to decline this offer.

2/27/2008: Deferred from Barry Law...

2/29/2008: Got an email from Akron Law with a scholarship offer that would cover tuition in the first year! Unbelievable...Akron looks really attractive to me now.

3/1/2008: Rejected from Howard. This one really hurts...This cycle is truly a crapshoot.

3/3/2008: Got a scholarship offer from Dayton worth $7k a year. But Akron's scholarship was a better deal because they offered me one that was 25k. Very easy choice here. Still waiting on Toledo, the only Ohio school left that I havent heard from.

3/4/2008: Deferred at Rutgers-Newark.......Oh the agony!!

3/4/2008: Just received a phone call from the admissions director at KU to inform me that I was ACCEPTED. It's a miracle, with my credentials KU was a huge longshot for me, and somehow this has happened. I have a tough decision to make here soon. Good luck to everyone out there!!

3/5/2008: Toledo's turn to crash the party, Rejected......

3/10/2008: Waitlisted at Loyola-New Orleans

3/13/2008; Rejection from West Virginia...a tad stung by this, but ill be alright.

3/27/2008: Rejection from UALR..

3/31/2008: Turned in my seat deposit at Akron today. For some reason I feel as if I signed my life away.....lol. But that's not the case at all. I'm still waiting on FIU, it might not be till May for a decision from them. If they say yes, I will gladly stay in Miami. If not, I'll pack my bags and head to Ohio. Simple as that. I know I still have some schools pending, but I dont expect to get any exceptional offers out of any of them. The wild ride continues......

4/3/08: Rejected from Golden Gate......

4/18/08: Accepted to FAMU, and they offered a 5k scholarship for the first year. The school only costs about 8k a year in tuition. A little bit interesting here.......but I'm still anxiously waiting on FIU's word, and I still have Akron sitting out there. Going to have decide whether or not to turn in the deposit at FAMU by May 2nd. I love Orlando, and I love in-state tuition! but we'll see what happens, its a tough decision.

4/21/08: Ahh! I finally get the word from Rutgers-Newark, and its a NO NO....Oh well, that my last shot at potentially going to law school in the NYC metro area. So long big apple! ill see you eventually with time....lol

4/24/08: Accepted at Barry..

4/25/08: Waitlisted at Roger Williams, no chance at getting any type of money from them now. Will decline my spot on the list...

4/28/08: Rejected from Indiana-Indianapolis...

4/30/08: Got an email from FAMU stating that they received my seat deposit and scholarhip acceptance form. As I now head into May it looks like its close to the end of the line for this wild cycle. I'm only two days removed from graduation, I'm not ready to leave the FIU campus yet, the College of Law has to show a fellow golden panther some love....LOL

5/2/08: Rejected from Wayne State...

5/10/08: This incredible cycle finally came to a screeching halt this morning. My #1 choice, FIU has denied me. Its extremely dissapointing, but in a way i was ready for this. FIU received a very competitive applicant pool this cycle, and I found myself caught in a tough numbers game. But everything happens for a reason in life, I'll move on and head to the city of Orlando to attend FAMU in the fall. The fact that Akron did not accept me to FT, the fact that they're scholarship renewal standards are so tough, and the fact that I know I will enjoy the Orlando area more than Akron, OH makes FAMU a lower risk than Akron in the overall sense. I'm very happy that this cycle is finally over for me, it was quite an experience. Good luck to all!! We must continue to chase our dreams.....

5/12/08: In at Duquesne, thanks a lot Dukes, but any admittance at this point is meaningless, I know where I'm going.

5/19/08: Hmm.....not so fast there FAMU, I'm not completely committed to going now, I have breaking news. Today was a wild monday. Got a letter in the mail from Duquesne offering a scholarship worth 15k a year. Talk about throwing a wrench into my cycle...I dont think it will ever end now.......lol. Right now, I dont know what I'm doing or where I'm really gonna go. I wouldnt mind being in Pittsburgh, the debt would be low, and their scholarship renewal standards are not stringent as Akron's. Can somebody please take me down to the paradise city where the grass is green and the girls are pretty........Forget all this law school nonsense.

5/22/08: Accepted to Loyola-New Orleans with a 13k per year scholarship, but at this point the Duquesne opportunity seems like a better deal. I appreciate the offer LOYNO, but I'm gonna have to pass.

5/27/08: Denied at Western New England..cycle is pretty much complete now. I am more confused now than ever before about deciding where to go.

6/9/08: Loyola agreed to add 5k more to the scholarship. I Sent in my deposit for Loyola-New Orleans today, and withdrew from Duquesne. The door is still slightly open for FIU though, as I await their reconsideration decision. But at this point, it looks more and more like I'll be heading to the Big Easy in August.

6/23/08: Received letter of acceptance from Roger Williams University. Nice offer, but too little to late, Loyola still looks like the likely pick.

7/8/08: Unless something totally off the wall occurs, (which is possible the way this cycle has gone), I'm packing my bags and headed to Nawlins' as a FT 1L at Loyola University New Orleans. It was a fun ride with many twists and turns, but I'm definitely glad to see this cycle end positively. Good luck to all!

We have very similar stats; good luck with your apps! :)

Keep ya head up homeboy...

You'll get in somewhere. You've put out a wide net, and you're applying on the front end of the process. So there's no reason not to be confident.

Don't worry
Tuesday, October 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

You'll be okay! No worries. I am not sure if you have any feelings toward Atlanta- but the John Marshall Law School there would probably be a sure bet for you. Also, you can always transfer after your first year if you aren't happy where you end up! Either way, your life isn't over!!! Try not to stress too much :)

Hello there

I am happy for you
Friday, December 21 2007 at 07:00 PM

You could honestly and loudly state that you're going to law school either way. As someone says before...all you need is one acceptance. Of course, there will be more opportunity...hang on there for a while.. Congrats and good luck again

CLEO
Saturday, December 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptance thus far!! I think you should look into CLEO. It would be a great option for you. (if you have not done so already)

good luck!
Sunday, November 25 2007 at 07:00 PM

how did you prepare for the lsats? I stunk up my shots at any decent law schools too. But still trying!

Friday, September 28 2007 at 08:00 PM

You know what Fabbio, in a sense ur right, i have earned that esteemed opportunity that you have brought forward. But in case you hadn't noticed, the process isn't nearly over yet. There are still many more decisions to come in. So why don't you do yourself a favor and fuck off my page! Seriously I do appreciate your little hit and run, but I guess you werent man enough to give me the chance respond back on ur page. It seems as if u may be a little frightened....???

Do not let criticism get to you man. The party is just beginning.

Congrats
Tuesday, October 09 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey man great job on Akron, the same thing happened to me and after doing some research I think that's where I'm going to end up next fall. Also if you dont know, you can change your profile settings to where nobody can write on your wall with out being a registered user, this prevents scared jerk-offs like Fabio and artlaw from writing malicious things anonymously...Just a thought. Good Luck with the rest of the cycle and semester

Buffalo
Wednesday, January 23 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey there. Congrats on your acceptance to NYLS. I live in NYC and from what I hear, they don't do so bad placing their top students in BigLaw in NYC. I also got accepted today but I'm waiting on Buffalo. Can you tell me when your application went complete for Buffalo? Thanks

Congrats
Thursday, December 06 2007 at 07:00 PM

Wish u the beest of luck man! I got into NOVA and NYLS through the AAMPLE program too. Not too sure if I can go through it as much as I would love to go to NYLS. I go into the CLEO summer program and the dates conflict, plus the 3k they ask for is kind of insane. BUt we'll see how it plays out...... congrats thus far on all of your acceptances. Keep doing your thing!

FIU
Friday, January 04 2008 at 07:00 PM

I applied to the Full Time program. It was a small thin envelope. I wish you best of luck, especially if it's your number 1.

Keep Hope Alive!
Wednesday, December 12 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey InquisitiveMale, I got into FIU with a 142 LSAT by a longshot and so I'm leaving this message to inspire more hope in your chances. Anything is possible! And congrats on your accomplishments and your current acceptances!

FIU
Wednesday, February 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey, thanks for the words of support. I applied full time to FIU. I went to FIU for undergraduate and SF State for my MBA. I am pretty disappointed as FIU was my #1 choice but at least I still have St Thomas and Nova (thru the Ammple program). Where are you thinking of going as of right now ?

CONGRATS

Congrats on NYLS... they're a great school if you wish to practice in NY, also, their average private sector sallary is pretty sweet (bout a 100k). So, congrats to you, man... i wish you the best of luck! :-)

SLU?

Congrats on St. Louis Law. I applied to the summer program also!! Good luck and congrats on KU. Where are you leaning towards?

SP Saint Louis
Tuesday, January 15 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptance to Saint Louis. Are you thinking of attending? Do you know anything about the program?

Question
Wednesday, December 12 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey, thanks for your post inquisitivemale! Out of curiosity, if you're from Miami why didn't you apply to UM? What are your thoughts on UM? I visited FIU when I got in, and liked it. The facilities are brand new. But I'm wondering about how well it places students when they graduate. Any thoughts? Cheers.

TSU
Tuesday, August 14 2007 at 08:00 PM

Has anyone heard anything positive about TSU?

FIU and Akron
Tuesday, February 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

You have withdrawn from all your accepts except for Akron. Is that were you are going to attend? From what I understand there is no way us low LSAT people will get money from FIU.

FAMU
Monday, April 14 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats with your acceptance into FAMU. How long did it take to get a response from them? It seems it is taking forever to hear from FAMU.

FAMU
Friday, April 11 2008 at 08:00 PM

Wow! How did you get offered a scholarship at FAMU? That's my number one choice and I would love a scholarship!!!

FAMU
Monday, April 14 2008 at 08:00 PM

Have you decided whether you are going to FAMU? The scholarship that you received covers the majority of your tuition. That's a GOOD thing :)

hey!
Saturday, August 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

wishing you the best of luck! don't worry about your lsat score, you'll get into a great law school =)

FAMU
Monday, April 14 2008 at 08:00 PM

I just wanted to update you about FAMU. I finally received my acceptance letter today. I wanted to say thank you for you words of encouragement. I hope FIU comes through for you.

Chasing the dream
Monday, April 14 2008 at 08:00 PM

I'm sorry to hear about FIU, but I'm sure you will like the Orlando area and you have a really good scholarship. I wish you good luck during the law school years. I'll see ya in Orlando.

FAMU
Thursday, February 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey, First of all, congrats on all the acceptances..you have a lot of choices and that is awesome. I see you made your final decision as being FAMU..but I wanted to make you aware of some major issues they are having before you head there. I would hate to see you go there and by the time you are nearing graduation, they have no ABA accreditation because that seems like the path they are headed on now. I'm not trying to bad mouth your decision but I just want to make sure you know a bit more about this school before you make the final decision. You have a lot of great opportunities at other places as well. Here is an article released today from the St. Petersburg Times newspaper discussing the problems over there. http://www.tampabay.com/news/education/college/article501963.ece

Hey
Thursday, February 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

I understand what you are saying for sure. The cost of law school if it isn't a state school is horrendous if you aren't at a state school. I wasn't trying to deter you from doing what you plan to do, but seeing as how you had other options I wanted you aware of what it was like there right now. I understand your reasoning on the decision. Things could be on the up and up there because they have a new dean that is supposed to be starting to fix things..it just seems like he has a lot of work he will have to do. It can be done though. Best of luck to you in school and I hope things go well for you. Your dedication to this whole process seems to have paid off with your good amount of choices you had. P.S.- You aren't the only one afraid of law school debt!!! haha

New Developments
Thursday, February 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey man, Since talking you a few weeks ago I see you have had quite the turn of events in your favor with other schools....even more choices now!! I do not know a ton about Duquesne but that is a good chunk of change they are throwing your way. What are you thinking now??? Is FAMU moving down your choice ladder at this point?

Thanks!
Thursday, November 01 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats! And same to you! Good luck in \"Nawlins\":)

Congrats!!!
