hey angel..so you think i should reach higher? i just think my lsat is horrible for top programs, i do have almost 2 years of WE to balance it out though

please, for your sake, apply to higher ranked schools. Definitely throw in an app to CLS and UVa.

i took your advice and just applied to Duke University..how are you doing so far? are u trying to get into the best school possible or get the best financial aid package?

hey angeltwin, in my situation, i really want to practice public interest law and some top schools (uva, vandy) have really weak or nonexistent public interest programs..ahh, if only i could get into berkeley!

is that a national law or specific to certain states? thanks for sharing that with me....are u familiar with the loan rapyment assistance program for public interest lawyers? are you coming straight from undergrad?if not, what are some of your work experiences?currently, I am doing community organizing in CO.

I know that it's been said a couple times already, but I really think you should add some schools in the T10.

Not sure yet. I'm going to weigh proximity to NY (or if it's not close at all, how easy it would be to get there), money, and rank when all is said and done.

Wow! Congrats on finding out from William and Mary in less than a month! I was so sad to see their completion email which said that they are not a rolling admissions school...

hey..i'm having my NU interview on 11/29..hmm, first choice for me is berkeley..i love the west coast and boalt hall has an amazing public interest program..why are you not applying there? 18,000 for 3 yrs is still really good..do they have an LRAP program?

hey..i just wanted to share my NU interview went so well today! i am really impressed by their programs and alumni..it is one of my top choices for sure..on a side note, I don't think i got into boalt..they have already started handing out decisions and no word yet for me..:( hows schools coming? where are you enrolled? P.S. check out UCLA, they have a critical race studies track for their students. i just really want to be in cali next yr..

Hey girl, I hope all is well after the holidays. I actually got an opportunity to visit GW today. The law school is in a nice location and is a fairly new building. However, i was very disappointed by its lack of diversity and questionable commitment to public interest. After chatting with a student, there seems to be some serious competition amongst the student body as well. I am not sure if you are intending on visting, but you seriously consider it before you choose to attend.

Hey, dont sweat it! decisions will start rolling in by the end of the month and by the beginning of next month. You are halfway done with the process! How exicting! Thanks for the warm wishes about Boalt. My biggest concern right now is figuring out how I am going to finance law school and how much debt is too much..

Thanks girl..i am now done waiting for accpetances and I am booking flights to check some of these places out. I am planning on going to Chicago for NU, and then Uof Illinois and Indiana University. Congrats on UTA! Are you instate? Is it one of your top choices? I would have applied but figured it was wasted $$ for me.

I'll probably go depending on money and whether or not I get into the T-14. But if I were in your shoes and had had the cojones to apply to UTA, I'd choose it over GW. Austin is lovely and UTA is incredibly well respected all over the country. I'm on the west coast and it places much better here than GW does.

So far, UIUC is my top choice. Like you, I have undergrad loans and I think I have a good chance of getting in-state at UI. With the scholarship, I'd be going their for barely nothing. I'd rather go to UCLA though! You have fantastic acceptances as well. What about you, what's your first choice?

Yah, I am actually deciding between NU and Indiana at this point. I think the visit will really allow me to see where I will be comfortable..deep down, I know i will get a bettter legal education at NU but a full tuition scholarship is hard to overlook..how are you doing with decisions? I am going to start withdrawing from some of these schools next week..

Thanks! I'll need it. Nope, no clear front-runner at the moment, but I've made myself up a spreadsheet to help make a decision :) I'm hoping once I hear about Fin. Aid from everybody it will be a little easier.

On Cornell!!! Does this change where you might be going in the fall?

IMO, I would go to Cornell. Cornell is going to make it so much easier to do whatever you want to do. GW isn't going to be able to put you in the same positions whether it's government, public interest, firms etc... Cornell will have placement advantage in every single market (including) DC and with the economy in the sorry state it is, I just don't think that now is the time to be taking risks. The only downside to Cornell is that it's in Ithaca (though that may be a good thing to you). If you really like DC or you hate Ithaca, I guess you could be leaning towards GW, but I think anyone in your position to suck it up for 3 years to attend Cornell, because it just opens so many more doors. And remember that you aren't really spending 3 years in Itacha. At most you'll spend 24 months there. And you could really do your last year abroad, visiting another school, or getting an externship somewhere. To sum it all up, I would go to Cornell. If they gave me a little more money, I probably would've gone over Michigan.
