Beth, Thanks for the kinds words and good luck on the LSAT. Waiting the three weeks to receive the results was awful. However, applying for several schools and waiting for months is even worse :-) Take care. Chris
Hey, It seems as though you and I are in similar situations! Any feedback/advise would be appreciated!
how did ya do on ur test? some apps still "intend to apply?" gotta hurry it up
Just wanted to say good luck. You'll probably be fine because of your master's. I know people say it doesn't mater, but it does. Trust me. My sister got into a T1 with similar scores. Anyways, good luck
I'm thinking these schools looked at my application wrong and let me in on accident haha! Thanks for the kinds words though! Fingers crossed maybe I'll see you at GaState in the Fall! :)
I see u didnt apply for ugeorgia..ur not intimidated are you?? lol come on..u know ud go to georgia over georgia state if given the opportunity. $16 is worth a try.
Thankz for the support. I'm tryin to stay positive and hoping for the best. What's your number 1 choice?
Girl Florida coastal will be the first school u hear back from! At least they sent me my denial in all of 2 days
Thanks a lot Beth I have to admit I'm not conceited, but convinced that I wrote a wonderful personal statement. I have applied to 12 schools in total.
I don't know what you meant by "smh the way some people carry on this website" from your 11/2 comment, but as long as someone is polite, I don't think there is anything wrong with being honest. can you clarify further?
I understand where you're coming from. Maybe some adcom do look at LSN, maybe some don't. Instead of taking the cursing and the ranting too seriously, these adcoms should look at them as more of a motivation coming from a student. I'm sure anytime someone is rejected, all that person wants to do is prove them that they're wrong for rejecting him/her. That's how I would look at it if I was an adcom, but obviously I am not and perhaps slightly biased. Inner fire is a good thing.
Thanks for the encouragement!! My bad GPA is for EXACTLY the same reason as your bad GPA. I'm really hoping that my personal statement is going to help explain and smooth that over, and I'm really hoping that they appreciate upward trends as much as they say! You are definitely situated to do just fine - URM status will help, and your masters degree will be a great asset for you in proving to them you can move past a rough start! Where in GA did you go to school? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and good luck getting into your first choice!
thanks for the kind words, you are too nice, looking forward to see your first acceptance, as well as mine of course
Good point regarding Stetson - changed the status back to pending. Also, I like your comment about the schools having access to this website. Pretty easy to match the GPA/LSAT to the application...
You were right.
Thank you and i will be watching you too. Amen to everything you wrote. And i know by his grace and mercy you will be getting acceptances too soon. God bless
The LSN e-mails didn't go to my junk folder, I was checking that, too. They just never sent any. I had to e-mail them four times before they decided to fix the issue. Awesome. By e-mail #4, I wasn't that nice lol. Good luck with Barry! Orlando is so awesome, so I wouldn't mind Barry at all if they offer some money to lower the price a bit. That sucks about Stetson, but, don't get discouraged! You've got lots of decisions left to come in and I'm sure good news is coming!
ugh! My friend told me she didn't find out about most schools she applied to until APRIL last cycle. APRIL?!! I don't think I have the mental strength to wait that long lol. BTW, bummer about Stetson but remember when God closes one door he opens another!! YOU GOT THIS! :)
I was so shocked about the amount offered at Florida Coastal. A nearly full tuition scholarship is going to be really hard to pass up. I really do like Jacksonville, too, you're right about it being a nice city. It's four hours from where I'm at now, and I drive there for Chicago-style pizza and the beach occasionally lol. Since your GPA and my GPA have the same reasoning behind them, I bet you will have a really good offer too!
bethbeth, we really need to get you that acceptance soon!
Tomorrow is ur lucky day I feel it ! Lol I cant wait till u get In somewhere!
We need to get you some acceptances! It is so strange that your apps and mine were sent within a day or two and you haven't heard anything. I'm crossing my fingers for you, maybe today will be the day!
Lol well I was off a day or two !
Hey. Thank you for the support. Just like you said. I think it's great to have some positive people out here to go against so much of the negativity present. I wish you the best of luck, and cannot wait to see your acceptances start rolling in.
thanks a lot, ur awesome
Thanks for the help! Good luck with all your applications!!!!!
relaxxxx lol. all the schools you applied to were late october the earliest...it's going to take over a month till decisions start rolling in. :P
well true but if u look at my dates of sending and decision date, they were all a lil over a month. but im really waiting for the Hofstra and Toledo decisions, those are the ones that really count to me.
Hey Beth you know what I think it is with you application . You have a low GPA but a good LSAT score for a minority. I went to the black preLaw conference this weekend and they told me they put applications in three piles , yes , no and maybe . The maybes get reviews by the admissions committe and they decide by taking a closer look at ur application "personal statement addedums, letters or recommendation ...." I think this is what is happening to your application at alot of the schools ... So it will take them a little while longer to get back to you. Bc it's hard to get everyone together .
Sorry for all spelling and grammatical errors was typing on phone ... Lol
It would be pretty rude of them to let you register for classes but not accept you. :)
I've seen many of your kind comments on lsn. hope your cycle is great! :)
Lol that's soo strange!
Yes you're right! I will admit, maybe the blog post scared me more than it should have however with the high tuition of the school and them probably not offereing me money coupled with the cost of living in the area..I didn't want to risk it you know?
Thanks for that info about FIU - I'm actually really happy to know that because I was really afraid it meant I had instantly gone in the "hell no!" pile. We need to get you some of those acceptances rolling in ASAP! It can't be long!
Thank you so much beth beth! You are always so kind! :):)
Awwww, no! Don't say you're in the hell no pile. One of my professors who wrote a letter of recommendation for me kept telling me when I was freaking out, "It only takes one!" She's right - it just takes one acceptance, just the right school to appreciate what you've gone! It will happen for you, the universe is just testing your patience right now! :)
I have been watching your profile. I just want to wish you good luck. This cycle is far from over.
So are the schools listed the only schools that you're applying to or will you add more to the mix? If not, then it really is just a waiting game for you now. :)
things wil turn around soon :-)
Things will turn around soon
I know the feeling. If i didnt have school to keep my mind busy, the wait would be drivin me crazy
Stay encouraged bethbeth519. There WILL be schools that recognize your talent and ability..:)
Thank you so much!! And Emory would be amazing but unless I get adopted by Daddy Warbucks in the next few weeks I doubt I would even be able to attend lol! As always, I am sending good vibes your way! I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you! :) :)
I'm still sending good vibes your way! Can't wait to hear about those acceptances!
I saw you're also waitlisted at Barry University. Do you know how likely it is to get in from their list or how may people it consists of?
Beth, if you do plan on applying in the future again, then best of luck to you!
Hello fellow Georgian. Good luck on your apps! Is Georgia State your first choice? Can't beat that in state tuition haha! :)
