I really like the city, and it's close to my top choice. By the way, the EC's all true, baby.

Good luck
Saturday, November 12 2005 at 07:00 PM

newkirk, Thanks for the post, I was waitlisted last year and did not get in at SW. I did however apply two months earlier this time. We will see.

Good Luck.
Wednesday, January 31 2007 at 07:00 PM

Best of luck. We have similar numbers and both have applied to Hamline. I've been to the campus a few times as I have friends completing their undergrad there. The campus is great, the people are nice, and it's not far from both the center of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

RE: Tech Creighton
Friday, June 02 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm more interested in Creighton than TTU, but I'm probably not going to either school, regardless.

Congrats!

Great job at Hamline! The president of my college was the provost at Hamline, and he told me to give them a shot. never been, so Im hoping to get an idea of the atmosphere beyond the catalog!

Drake
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey, I talked to Drake the other day, and they told me that they are not even going to consider anyone from the waitlist until July! That probably crosses Drake off of my list, since I just cannot wait that long to make a decision! Good luck with everything else.

my cycle...
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

is going alright. I would like to get into either hamline or william mitchell(I just visited both this last week) I also asked Denver to reconsider my application for part-time, so I will have to see how that goes. I am doing a lot of waiting this cycle which is frustrating. I am also visiting MSU in a week. Are you thinking about Hamline? If so, I can give you some info from my visit. Good luck with everything else!

Drake
Saturday, March 03 2007 at 07:00 PM

Well, if I heard something back I'd be thinking about Drake a little more. I heard it was a good school from my friend that goes there for undergrad. She really likes Des Moines, no matter what I'm going to have to pay a seat deposit at another school to hold my seat because it is getting too late. Have you visited Creighton or Drake? If so, what did you think?

Deal or No Deal?
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

haha...if it were only that easy! First, just because you withdrawl from Hamline does not mean that I get accepted. Second, just because I withdrawl from Drake does not mean you get accepted. I cannot make a decision like that at this point. I need to wait and hear from other schools to be able to make a rational decision.

Newkirk, Did you atend the law school preview day at ULV. If so, what did you think?

haha

I was hoping that you were joking, but I was not sure! You just never know when people are serious or kidding on here.

Drake Waitlist
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey, When I visited, I talked pretty in-depth with admissions about the waitlist. It seemed as though when they create the waitlist they put some people on it that they may not intend to accept. If they go to the waitlist, they will start with the top 10% by numbers, then look at those applicant's other factors. They were clear that this would not start to occur until July to August, and that there have been years that they have not activated the waitlist. I wrote up a pretty detailed review for someone on LSD, so I can send it to you if you want. I am assuming that your name is the same on LSD. I have considered Drake, but that is a long time to wait to hear a decision. I will have to see how everything else shapes up.

I got my MBA there and I can honestly say i twas a great education. They do care about the students and are available all the time. I think, based on my previous experience and the way they talked at the preview day, you would get personalized attention and a great education. As far as the provisional status and transfering goes, I have no idea. I really would prefer Southwestern only because I have to commute and it is 30 miles closer to where I live.

I have withdrawn several applications, one of them being Drake.

Gonzaga
Sunday, February 11 2007 at 07:00 PM

For now, it's looking like Gonzaga. However, I would love to hear back from any of the California schools that have waitlisted me. If any of them said yes, I would probably go there because I would rather end up working in California rather than Washington seeing as how law school is mostly regional.

But I will. Good luck.

De facto withdrawl by missing the seat deposit deadline.

Drake?
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

Just wondering if you have heard anything new from Drake.

drake...
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

I sent them an email that went unanswered a while back, so I figured that nothing had changed. What is your plan? Are you going to wait it out until July?

Good news for you!
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey, I just wanted to tell you that I will be withdrawling my app from Drake next week, cause I just got into Denver. Less competition for you!

creighton
Wednesday, January 31 2007 at 07:00 PM

yeah I received a letter from them and I can't remember if it was a letter asking if I wanted to remain on the waitlist or if it was a rejection letter. Either way I withdrew from their applicant pool. Good luck on your applications!

I choose to remain on the waitlist, even though im commited to NYLS. Its a personal thing since Chapman was my local school and former #1 choice. Good luck with some of your waitlists, hopefully youll hear soon. What school do you go to?

Hey bud, I am not sure what I am going to do. Drake is a possibility as my parents really want me to go there so I would be close to home. I want to go to school in NYC, Chicago or Boston the most...so I am actually thinking I will apply for the 2008 fall semester....it would allow me to Early Decision either Pace or Hofstra and hopefully that would give me a good shot. My name is John Schneider and I go to the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). Add me on facebook and I can answer any other questions and keep updated. Best of luck

I amnot attending the summer course. At this point, I am not sure that I can even make the fall semester. I am going to give a try though. I may have to defer until Spring due to work obligations. We'll see. I hope to make the fall start. I will see yo at the school in the future though and wish you the best of luck.

How did you hear?

SW Wait List
Monday, May 07 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey! SW notified me via a phone call late in the afternoon last week. The day prior, I visited the school and dropped off a letter of continued interest in person to the Office of Admissions. Less than 24 hours later, I received a call stating that they "experienced some movement" on their wait list and were willing to offer me a spot in their part time program. The admissions officer declared that they would keep me on the wait list for full time if I wanted, but it would be a far shot to get accepted. I was given until 6:00 PM the next day to come up with a final decision-- hey, it's only the rest of my life, right? I accepted and they mailed out an acceptance packet that was received a few days later. Best of luck! The best thing to do would be visiting the school in person (if you can) and dropping off a letter in person. I've heard this from a myriad of people and it certainly worked for me :-)

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ACCEPTANCE INTO CHAPMAN!

PT vs. FT
Monday, May 07 2007 at 08:00 PM

It was an incredibly difficult decision for me to accept PT. It was either that or FT at the New England School of Law in Boston. Basically, I wanted to go to the school with the best international law program, hence me choosing SW PT vs. NESL FT. Three years at Chapman is a stellar deal, though.
