Additional info & updates

Any scholarship listed represents an aggregate amount.

EC info ripped off from "Britomart."

11/24 - Accepted at first school: GULC. Came in small white envelope with brief personal note. Nice to see that those LSAC people are actually doing something up there in Pennsylvania after all...

11/28 - Accepted at UT-Austin via snail mail

12/12 - Accepted at NYU via large envelope with purple folder inside

1/12 - Accepted at UVA via small beige envelope. Letter says I will be considered for "Dean's Scholarship" money to come in March.

1/25 - Accepted at Columbia via ugly envelope with pretty green folder inside

2/2 - Phone call email from Toby Stock. Exciting!

2/2 - Phone call from University of Chicago--accepted!

2/20 - Notified that I did not receive Dean's Scholarship at Georgetown. My application was actually pretty funny if anyone wants to read it.

2/28 - Columbia ASW; pretty good time; CLS has definitely risen in my mind

3/3 - 12:04 PM - I check mail and see I have been rejected from Yale; this is my first rejection, and so it may be a while before I can recover

12:54 PM - I have recovered.

3/9 - Because I was bored, I decided to order all the law schools I applied to in the order of my preference for them. This can only help me since the school I have listed as "1" is the only school from which I have not heard!

3/24 - Received letter from Chicago offering 50K over three years. This is making me lean more and more for Chicago over Columbia...

3/31 - Received letter from Virginia offering 60K over three years. Might have been interested if not for Chicago offer last weekend.

4/17 - Returned from Chicago ASW. Pretty sure I'll be attending Columbia at this point. Still have heard nothing from Harvard after the initial interview.

4/21 - Finally waitlisted at Harvard. I will stay on the waitlist and see what happens. I've made no secret about the fact Harvard was my first choice from the beginning, although I would definitely be happy at Columbia.

5/1 - Sent in deposit to Columbia

Best of luck with this cycle. We have similar numbers, so I'm interested in how things turn out. Do you have a first choice at this point?

I am verified!
Wednesday, June 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

I am officially a verified user now, so you can see me under "view users" and when you look at people applying to the schools that I'm applying to!

Thanks for your ps help
Monday, May 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

and good luck this cycle! You're going to have some excellent choices in a few months.

We're neck and neck...
Friday, April 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

But I'll click on your LSN anyway ;) Good luck to you, too! Good luck on your apps; you must be almost ready to go by now.... I just went complete at my first school, so I'm feeling pretty excited! I'll certainly keep on eye on your cycle...

because
Tuesday, April 04 2006 at 08:00 PM

I want our numbers to match exactly :) but for real, I was upset about my performance in June. I was doing a lot better in practice and hope to redeem myself in Sept

Not sure
Tuesday, April 04 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm afraid to predict anything, there is a lot more debate on LSD now then there was after the June test but I'm certainly hoping to have at least moved up a point.

didn't work
Tuesday, April 04 2006 at 08:00 PM

I guess I'm destined to be stuck with my 171.

Good luck
Monday, July 10 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hey, we're close to numbers twins now. Best of luck with your applications.

yeah well

Hey,
Thursday, May 25 2006 at 08:00 PM

Just wanted to tell you that you're gonna have a great cycle. As will I!! Okay, you might do a bit better than me. :P Anyhow :) Good luck!

Congrats!
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on Georgetown! Hope it's the first of many.

Yes, probably...
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Chicago?

Yeah...
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

There's always that "unless Harvard" qualification. I hope we both get that choice. I'm just preparing myself to be thrilled with whatever. I don't know if that's working.

Yeah...

We're both going to Yale, of course. :P

Congrats
Tuesday, June 20 2006 at 08:00 PM

on receiving money at texas. Did they offer you $7000 per year?

Congrats on NYU
Monday, May 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

That is such exciting news! Good luck on the rest of your apps!

NYU!
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Excellent! Congratulations!

So...
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

You in for cigars at CLS ASW if we both get accepted?

Well . . .
Sunday, May 14 2006 at 08:00 PM

Columbia should throw gobs of money at me then. And have a really awesome ASW. I'd tell you that you should go to Michigan, but you didn't apply. Lame! =P

Yes,
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I think tomorrow will be the day for Virginia. Those deceptively thin envelopes will arrive! Surely... If mine doesn't come in Saturday and I have to wait until Tuesday, I'll be very antsy.

Yay!
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on UVA, AND going complete at HLS!

Did I mention...
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

you're really good at cheering a girl up! Thanks for the nice words :-)

I don't know about softballl
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I am too afraid of the ball.

Congrats...

from one libertarian to another (specifically, another big fan of Objectivism). Out of curiousity, you never participated in any programs held by the Institute for Humane Studies did you? I'll be interested to hear where you end up. Good luck. b

Good job there, Texas rose. I don't know why I called you that. It seemed appropriate though.

Congrats!
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm so glad to see you got into Columbia! I knew you would, but it's good to see the confirmation!

Eh...
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I could not say if or when.

I know!
Thursday, May 25 2006 at 08:00 PM

Discreet is my middle name - as you might have guessed from my on-board behaviour. >:D

Saturday, December 02 2006 at 07:00 PM

Nice to see another longhorn doing well! I am very envious of Columbia, congrats!

UT
Saturday, December 02 2006 at 07:00 PM

Yep, I am still at UT. Living on riverside, in the ghetto. Where do you think you are headed next year? Any chance you'd stay in Austin?

UT
Saturday, December 02 2006 at 07:00 PM

Yeh, I think UT is pretty much out of the running for me too. I am leaning towards UVa, but Chicago might be awesome too. I think I'll just have to visit to decide. Also, I added you on facebook.

Sooo...
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Apparently I'm a guy now?;) I guess they put "sex" on LSN for a reason. Oh yes, and congrats on the acceptances and such. =)

Oh, Hank...
Saturday, January 06 2007 at 07:00 PM

You and I grow closer and closer in the LSN rankings. And yet ImNobody still stands between us...

Ah...
Saturday, December 03 2005 at 07:00 PM

Together at last. You, of course, are T14, and I am not.

SP
Wednesday, October 11 2006 at 08:00 PM

You are such a smarty pants. Congratulations on all your fabulous acceptances. Here's to keepin it real. (In a very Chris Rock kinda way) Congrats on being next to Brito, too, that could be more exciting than the next two acceptances!

Nice to see you at CLS ASW!
Monday, May 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

I expect you'll be hearing good news from Boston pretty soon, but in the meanwhile, you've got some other great options. Good luck on your decision!

Weird, isn't it?
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

My degree GPA went up 0.01, and my LSDAS GPA went down 0.01. Couldn't I have just stayed at that 3.63? It's such a nice, palindromic number. Anyway, you know I wasn't slacking last semester...unlike now :-D

Yale
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

Sorry to hear about Yale! But really, New Haven? You *really* didn't want to live there, so no big loss, right?

Exactly!
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

But at the same time, now I'm slightly depressed that I'm going to be waiting forever for the cycle to be over. I just want to decide already! (Remember, patience is *not* a virtue...) :-P

CLS ASW
Saturday, September 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

How was it? Also, sorry about Yale. Nice recovery time, though.

My dear!
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Now we're T14 together!

Boredom = ordering schools?
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yet another reason law students are seen as neurotic :P I think you should bump UChi and CLS to 2, and remove Yale from the list - Yale's gone, it's been tossed into the black hole of rejections, it doesn't deserve your numerical ranking, right? :D

Love your alias
Thursday, February 22 2007 at 07:00 PM

Great alias, love it. Good luck with HLS. Have you visited there yet?

Yes, I've read it a couple times and found it fascinating. It's the 50th anniversary this year, BTW.

UT
Tuesday, January 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

I should be. I graduated in December, a semester early. Figured it would be nice to just chill my last semester. I'm still living in Austin. Are you at UT right now?

hi
Saturday, January 27 2007 at 07:00 PM

I just wanted to say nice job with the email and that you are very correct about Britomart being accidentally accepted, lol.

Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hank- if you're still interested in CLS after you visit Chicago, I'd recommend sending in your merit award letters. I did, and it actually worked, go figure! Of course, I'm sure you'll get into HLS anyway, so maybe it's a moot point.;)

Thursday, December 21 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'd just like to say that you provided me and my officemate with many minutes of entertainment in reading your profile today. Really, I believe I laughed out loud. At this point, I'd like to make a guess on which 3 things are true, partially true, and false. Let me know how I do... True: Teach for America, A&F model, Halo champ Partially True: Thesis, LSN dating site, Jimmy John's False: Seeing eye dog, AI, Enron How many did I get right?? :)

Well!
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I say you cheated at Chicago and Columbia!

Well, I say
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

It is only cheating for someone like you.
