*Pretty much just want to get into a quality law school with an strong international law program. Most of the schools I have applied to are a bit of a reach, but hopefully my soft factors can put me over the top at some of them.
12/06/07
Recieved call from Loyola's asst. dean of admission @ about 1pm! Told me of my acceptance and scholarship to the University. Exciting day, nice to know that schools will actually look at more than just the numbers.
12/18/07
App status @ Villanova went to "Decision Made/Mailed". Ill keep my fingers crossed. What stinks is that I am back at my parents' house for the break, so itll take a little longer for my forwarded mail to get here. But judging from those admitted here on lsn, I dont have much chance. But hey you never know
12/20/07
Got a call at about 1:30 from Depaul congratulating me of my acceptance to the law school! WHOO HOOOO man am I happy! It sounded like she expected me to already have recieved my letter in the mail, but thats the US postal service for yah. 15k a year is amazing, and if everything ended today, I would have quite a decision on my hands. I would love to study/work in Chicago and it looks like that is a real possibility for me.
12/21/07
ACCEPTED AT NOVA!!!! Man Didnt think I had much of a chance, so this is a big surprise! I like Villanova and I also like the idea of studying in Philly. Man this has been a sweet 2 days. Shit I these are better than any christmas present I could get this year. All the anxiety has been sucked out of this cycle for me, I know at the very least there are 3 quality Schools that want me.
12/26/07
I was actually out of town when the letter got mailed. My dear mother called me to inform me that a letter came from Northeastern. I had her read it to me, and I found out that I had been accepted! 8500/yr scholarship to boot. Northeastern is one of my first choices. The only question is, can I live in Boston?
1/7/08
So I was getting ready to drive back to my apartment after the break when my roomate called me because he had arrived there already. He told me a letter from Howard had arrived, so I had him read it to me. ACCEPTED first of all, 20,000 scholarship to boot! Full ride. While there are many other school ahead of Howard on my list, it will be hard to pass up a full ride to a good school in D.C. And as my friend so accurately pointed out to me, Howard is different than any other tier 3 school in the Country. So many choices already, i never imagined it, but its prolly a great problem to have right now
1/16/08
IN A GWWW!!!!!!!! OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!! I DONT CARE THAT ITS PART TIME. DREAM SCHOOL LET ME INN WOW SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. HOLY CRAP WOW. THE LAW SCHOOL GODS HAVE SEEN FIT TO BLESS ME. AND YES I REALIZE THAT I AM WRITING IN ALL CAPS< I DONT CARE!!!!!!
-now that I have calmed down a little----GW notified me by email that I have been admitted to the Part time program
1/18/08
Strangly enough, I got the scholarship info from Santa Clara before I got the official letter. Well it is indeed a nice way to find out that I got accepted 10,000 a year. Not bad, not bad at all
Its weird, a week ago I was pretty sure that I would be going to Howard, given the scholarship that I was given and the return on the investment @ Howard. Good school, I was content. Now it looks as though I will be spending about 40k more a year, but I couldnt be happier. A chance to study at a Top 25 school, doesnt get too much better than that for me
1/19/08
Got my official letters from both Santa Clara and GW today. Even though I already knew, the GW letter was still pretty exciting. Came in a pretty thick manila evelope. The acceptance letter came with a nice hand written message from the Dean. Might be something that he does for everyone, but it still made me feel really welcome and appreciated. This cycle has been better than I could ever have imagined. Its good to know that all the time and energy I put in to my soft factors paid off in the end. The cycle isnt over, but its pretty apparent where I am leaning at this point. Only question now is if I can get a little bit of aid because living in DC sure aint cheap, thats for sure.
1/24/07
Acceptance package arrived today from American via Priority mail! I know that I would prefer to go to GW, but I would consider if there was a scholarship involved. No scholarship info really in packet. Looking at other people accepted on this site, they havnt yet given out scholarhips in mass. Ill call the fin. aid office tomorrow maybe to get more info.
2/11/08
Email from OSU congratulating me on my acceptance to Moritz and an invite to the visitation day! No official paperwork yet
2/11/08
Wow eventful day, today case notified me of my acceptance via email!
2/20/08
Small envelope from Temple offering me a place on their waitlist. I have to respond to the letter to be placed on the list. I expect they will see my non-response as my withdrawl. Ironic though, coming into this cycle, I thought that was where I really wanted to go. Funny how things turn out.
3/5/08
Email notification of an 18000 scholarship from CASE. WOW this really throws a wrench in the decision process. I was all but ready to call GW and tell em Im in, and now i get a huge scholy from Case. I dont know...I just dont know
3/5/08
9500 scholarship to OSU!!!
I know you got accepted but I might have to kill you in your sleep before you get a chance to go...
- chammon2Hey, congrats on Loyola! Must feel good to get that first acceptance. When did you complete there? good luck the rest of this cycle!
- kmhenry42You failed to mention that when you got the call you jumped so high that your head hit the ceiling and that you were giggling and carrying on with her on the phone.
- chammon2Cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle
- chammon2Congrats on Loyola man! I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope to get that same call soon! when did you submit your application there? who knows, maybe I'll see you next year. cheers!
- samsdeadfishclubWell I have always preferred the Olds Cutlass to the Impala. Maybe that will change when I have completed this cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle,cycle, cycle.
- chammon2Hey, It wasn't bluntness that was the problem...as I am obviously blunt in my responses. To be honest, it's been a bad day and week and I apologize to you for lashing out like that...it was uncalled for at that point. I know that it is way to many schools, and to some degree with those bottom schools I am unsure what I would want. I only know what I want in the context of T1/T2 and haven't really fathomed not getting in to one (other than to the extent of applying to lower schools, just in case). I am fully planning on withdrawing from most of them once that Seton Hall, SMU, Denver, PSU, etc comes back with an admit. With my GPA I just have that genuine fear that all will say 'no', even though they admitted a majority of people in my range last year. Best of luck on your cycle, congrats on Loyola-Chicago (I'm waiting on their call), and maybe I will see you in the future if we end up in the same place.
- sailorbearcongrats on loyola reg. big money too, that's nice. and i think it's funny as shit that you got in a fight with somone on this website.
- atlolli01i cant believe u think u can get into lwa school coming from shitty toledo. u suck rocket fagg. noone wants a rocket. go falcon urself! BGSU4Life
- FalconSweetHaha how dare you insult my undergraduate institution. Not all of us can attend pillars of academic exellence like Bowling Green State University.
- sbarker3Yeah, and in all honesty, I am just thankful that now I know I will be going somewhere in the Fall. Now I just get to sweat the 'good' school getting back to be with an acceptance.
- sailorbearAm I the only person who did not get the call? I wanted the call (as long as it was not at my work number). I updated my profile and it now answers your questions. But just to summarize, I went to top private and have mostly work experience.
- slckviklol, gee thats some warm sentiment there, \"chammon2\"! i want to go there toooo!!
- Faustohhhkayyy, do dobie do, do dobie do, do dobie dobie dahhhhh, my name is moby, i'm moby, i'm mobbbbby! cycle!
- chammon2I go to OSU currently!
- epiphanizeHello! We have almost identical numbers and are applying to very similar schools. anyway good luck with your apps!
- NAME REQUIREDi am in slezeland silly man. their comp is in my bedroom. the site is working a lot faster here. must be time warner.
- chammon2stingy? yeah right. congratulations again man! that's freaking awesome. more big money too. i hope i get as lucky as you...though i suspect that luck has little to do wit it. see you soon i hope.
- atlolli01Congrats on NEU! It's also one of my first choices.
- thanks4shopping197Our of curiosity, why do you think you may not be able to live in Boston? I'm a local, so feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions about the area.
- thanks4shopping197just watch the first five minutes of 'the departed' and listen to what dicaprio says to anthony anderson. you can't go there, you can't live there, you will not survive.
- chammon2we are numbers twin buddy. I wish you best of luck. I am interested in seeing what GW has to say to us. Can I ask what is your first choice school?
- lionheartthe scholarship info came in a separate mailing, just a letter in a regular letter-sized envelope. They certainly don't give much info do they....good luck
- wethotsummerso they are interviewing some pretty sweet football coaches. the story actually made front page of espn.com. people like mike martz, june jones, and larry coker. give them 2-3 years and it could actually be fun to see smu football.
- chammon2knock, knock, knockin' on howard's door...
- chammon2Congrats on your cycle thus far...I know there will be more acceptances to come...
- gamecock08My numbers/school type/race combination is pretty identifiable, and I didn't particularly want to be identified. Doesn't hurt a thing to leave them all out until the cycle's over, so that's what I did. Congrats on all your acceptances.
- SharkWeekhey bro we are numbers twins almost. congrats on nova. i applied there recently, we'll see. whats your 1st choice school ? I see GW -PT out there... goodluck with all your apps..
- lionheartCongratulations on your acceptances!!!
- down2earthcongrats reggie! best news yet. good work.
- atlolli01I'm pretty open in terms of my top choices. I would be probably be most happy going to either American, Loyola LA, Loyola Chicago, Villanova, UC Hastings, or U of Florida. we'll see what develops.
- down2earthCongrats on GW MAN!!!! I went complete there just a few days ago. So we'll see how long they make me wait. :) No, I am applying to PT cus thats all I can go to school for. I am single but still have family obligations and FT is no feasible. I am extremely excited about OSU man but they dont have PT program. I am soo hoping GW comes through for me. Its my 1st choice. I applied there last year and didnot get in and now reapplying with a better lsat score. I now have pretty much the exact #'s as you do..so we'll see. :) regardless man i am happy for you , you deserve it!.. i am assuming you are taking up the offer? hopefully we can both go there, night program will be fun!
- lionheartYou mind sharing.. did they call you? or was it a postal mail followed up by email? thanks!
- lionhearti appreciate your help man. i really do. wish you best of luck and i will keep you posted on how all goes. are you withdrawing from other schools?
- lionhearthey man, i really like fordham...top 25 and in manhatten. but there's no way i'll get in. thinking at best i'll get in to quinnipac, depaul, and st. john's. so it'd be down to depaul and st. john's then...not sure i'll even get in to those though. am putting in some saftey apps at dayton and cleveland state tomorrow. GW your top choice i take it?
- atlolli01oh, and i saw a user on this website the other day actually named "nanuk" or something like that. bahaha.
- atlolli01why do you continue to act like we don't live in the same apartment?
- chammon2thanks for the words of encouragement. maybe i am a bit. but i just have a hard time believing that schools will be able to see beyond my low LSAT scores. we'll see though. and DC would be awesome. i loved living there and it would be nice to have friends, especially while starting out a new tough course of study. i have a friend at UDC and he says washington is the best place to study law, regardless of the school you're at. so we'll see GW would be nice. haha i'm pumped you got in. their facilities are pretty great. go for sure
- atlolli01why are you texting me. we live together.
- chammon2i should have put a '?' after my question. i guess that is why i got a 159 and suck at life.
- chammon2Wow? Why are you bringing the flame? What's your problem? Let's just say I believe my application was above the standard applicant at WISCO. Whether you think thats true or not, is none of your business. I guess that's what you say when you think your the shit because you got into a T-20 school with a low GPA and LSAT , telling everyone that it was because of your factors.
- obfadilyou know what is funny? obfadil told me that it was probably because of my factors as to why i didn't get into osu and he did, even though my numbers were better than his; however, now he seems to reject the notion that your factors could have helped you.
- chammon2I applied to Miami cause its a good school and I'm competitive in their applicant pool. Plus, I wouldnt mind living in Miami for 3 years or so.
- Jaewondkand congrats to you, that is so awesome about all of your acceptances! so are you set on gw? what a great school : )
- paranoidandroidI noticed we have similar numbers and applied to some of the same schools. Good luck with the rest of your schools!
- mask9I am leaning towards GW right now.
- mask9Naw, not a masochist. The first year is intense, but it doesn't have to be all-consuming. As for my reasons for selecting Vanderbilt, I'm going to cop out a little and say that it was both scholarship and the impression I had after visiting. I decided to come almost a year ago this week, but then I received a nice scholarship offer a few weeks later.
- SEC1Lthanks for the kind words you ass hole cunt rag bitch cock shit stain worm eating gopher loving fuck of a man
- chammon2I see you're having a wonderful cycle. We share two schools in common. Keep me posted on where you will be going.
- onewellFeel free to turn down DePaul and Loyola, I've been waitlisted by both of them and would love to take your seat....what undergrad do you go to if you don't mind my asking?
- flyer24I go to Dayton...I'm thankful you've withdrawn from DePaul, good luck with your decision
- flyer24the reason you can't be seen on any of the schools' pages to which you have applied, is because you're account is not verified. it says so next to your views. you either changed your email address or there was a glitch. under edit account you can have the verification email resent. that should fix it.
- chammon2Is GW still your #1?
- mask9I'm actually Jamaican. Only attended undergrad in NY. Wouldn't say I'm attracted to UT, I applied kind of as a prank because I have a friend in UT's MBA program. Will not be going there though. It's NU, Howard or Pace in that order
- onewellI'm going with GW but I'm just worried about the cost of living. DC is so expensive!
- mask9congrats on OSU, that is big. I was just curious to know if you could give me any application pointers? Did you write a separate diversity statement or did you just include it in your PS? Thanks again and congrats!!!
- rrmosqucongrats on more acceptances (Case, howard) so i see you are thinking between OSU/American/GW/Howard). i got turned down at GW so I am leaning more towards OSU now being they are offering me good grant and more scholarship probably coming my way too. Hey if I were you, I would goto GW. They have a great international law program and DC would suit you for that. As much as I would like to see you at OSU, and as much as I hate GW for not letting me in, I have to keep the biases aside.
- lionheartMan, you really knocked it outta the park. Congratulations, bro. All great schools, but that 'GW' is a true gem. Are you going to accept the offer at part-time? It would seem tempting even at a 4-year rate. I know I wouldn't pass that up. Congrats.
- NAME REQUIREDYou planning to go to DC anytime soon? What type of law are you looking at studying?
- futureGSrainmakerYeah I'm looking to go into corporate or international. If I don't get in a school with a top 10 JD/MBA program I'll go the international route which means either GTown or GW. I'm headed out March 23-29 to give DC a second run now that I'm legal.
- futureGSrainmakerCongrats on OSU $$$, how did they inform you of the scholarship money?
- waterwalk1they mailed me a letter - I got it 2/25
- WISHER23On the recent scholarship money!!
- futureGSrainmakerwow look at your cycle good job that's awesome
- Dream2Shinelol thank you for that. i was hoping the children would come back and beat him.
- chammon2Not a good move...shouldn't have turned down that OSU offer.
- Not smartactually, you're probably more stupid for turning down the temple waitlist than the osu scholly.
- chammon2ur making me regret not applying to villanova! congrats!!!
- goldpantherAgree. He made a pretty bad decision. Too bad it's too late to change since he withdrew already.
- Chicken2Llol
- sbarker3obviously an osu troll with nothing better to do. at least you should be happy that they are going this far to try and make you regret your decision. pretty good representation of your typical osu student. they'll do anything to start a riot.
- chammon2Congratulations on your acceptances. How come you turned down the Case Western scholly?
- GeeTown<a href="http://pdfserver.amlaw.com/ca/USNews.pdf" title="http://pdfserver.amlaw.com/ca/USNews.pdf" class="data">http://pdfserver.amlaw.com/ca/USNews.pdf</a>
- chammon2Gosh, you are such a lint licker! You should have come to sweetness at OSU because you'll never make back the extra debt graduating from a crappy school like George Washington. What does George Washington even mean? Ohio State means it is Ohio's state school. George Washington is just some old guy that half of America has never even heard of. You are such an idiot. Corn rulez. With a 'z'.
- OSU TrollAnd GeeTown is correct. Gordon Gee is the bomb and in fifty years his name will mean more than that Wershington guy.
