I hear ya - if you have a dream of UW GO FOR IT! However, for $30 and a quick acceptance and re-assurance that you will go somewhere for sure up front, FSU is VERY worth it! HOPE YOU GET IN EVERYWHERE! KEEP ME UP TO DATE AND BEST OF LUCK!!!!

They send you an email with a link to an online status checker. I have been emailing back and forth with admissions because the website said I was incomplete and they said they were a little behind and should be caught up by the end of the week. I am really hoping for DU as I want to be in Colorado big time. Good luck dude, if you get into UW maybe you can loan a GPA point.

Yeah, that postcard is great. Especially getting it a day or so after I got my acceptance letter. Why the send it out a week+ after you go complete, I have no idea.

I tried to connect Russian experiences with becoming a social worker, interest in juvenile justice/public interest, ironman training/competing and leadership exp. within non-profit. It took numerous drafts, but I was ultimately pleased with the result!

I heard from Marquette around November 9th, and I applied around mid October. Good luck, and please keep me posted!

Hey, i noticed your question about notification. I received an e-mail that told me that they don't anticipate sending any decisions until after winter break, but if your file went complete before Dec 15th then you will hear back before Feb. 15th. Hope that helps! :)

Congrats on your acceptance! I was wondering...when you talked to the admissions office and asked about your application what would they tell you. All I was told was, "You should be hearing from us very soon..." I have a feeling that is not good!?!

The dean called me to congratulate me on my acceptance and a letter is to follow. I would imagine yours is on the way. I have my grad. degree from Loyola, so I would imagine that helps!

how did you know? I didn't go to school there, but I realized over Thanksgiving how much I miss it sometimes!

Yeah, those emails were amusing. I ended up getting a snail mail letter. It was dated Dec 3rd and postmarked Dec 13th. Not really sure what made it took 10 days to actually get it sent, but whatever. UW email systems either selectively blocks WUSTL emails or WUSTL hasn't quite figured their system out yet... And hopefully UW gets it together soon...

MN right now. Reciprocity + 10k/year is very attractive. I've enjoyed my time at Madison quite a bit, but I definitely think I need to see another campus for a few years. I'd be more than happy with pretty much any school on my list. I love the midwest, and I'm unsure if I can see myself leaving the region. The only schools outside the midwest I even applied to are Berkeley, Cornell, and UT. Even if accepted to one of those, it would be a tough region to leave! Any preferences yourself? 2 in the bag and I'm sure there will be a few more soon enough! (especially if UW gets on it soon)

for the nice message. Where did you teach with TFA? I was in Houston, and since leaving, I've noticed that it's a small world for TFA alumni. . .

I think it's just over $20K/year in-state (which Wiscy residents get..). That's a bit more than UW, but UW doesn't seem to offer much in terms of merit $$$.

I don't have any work experience. So I figured they were way out of my league. I really had planned on applying, but alas, it's a bit too late now. I'm almost glad I didn't...a friend is there for a MS/possible PhD program and doesn't like the campus as much as UW. A friends sister also goes to UG there, and she doesn't enjoy the atmosphere. Who knows? Have a safe trip to Wisconsin! What part of the state are you from? Milwaukee area here...

Oh! Good luck! I've been checking your list every day. No news on my end. Waiting for another LOR (been almost 3 months, so I've about given up), that I MAY need to go complete at Boalt and Cornell. Would suck if that kept me from knowing. Not really sure if I would go to either, as I kind of enjoy the Midwest, and staying here seems like a fun idea. A Texas accept would be sweet, though.

I did quasi attend DMC last year. My role was more like wandering around and handing out club passes/coordinating logistics rather than being in sessions though. Are you applying to any schools you are not tracking? Have been bombarded w/ phone calls & emails linked to TFA asking you to apply?

Definitely leaning toward DU. I have been out of school for six years now, and own my home so relocating is not too appealing. Plus I hope to practice in Denver. We'll see what happens...(hopefully sooner than later!!)
