Additional info & updates

Recieved: Date my LSDAS report is requested.

10/5- Contacted and received confirmation from three professors that will write LOR.

10/09-Gave coversheet to all four professors that have agreed to write LOR.

10/16- LSAC processed my transcript

10/20-Received LSAT and disappointed. Don't see the point in taking it again even though my average practice score was 8 points higher. Will have to come up with a new list of schools. I would appreciate any advise.

10/23 List of schools is still a work in progress. Any advise would really help.

10/26 Recieved first fee waiver I'm excited about. Case Western!

11/1 LSAC has all my LOR. I am working on the final draft of my PS and hope to have the first of my applications out by the beginning of next week.

11/6 I can't believe how fast Baylor let me know the application was complete. Also, received fee waiver from Texas Tech..so I figure why not..I'll probably apply.

11/30 Alright! Done with the applications. Now the waiting game begins. I don't plan on applying to any more schools...unless a fee waiver to a decent schools comes which I don't plan on. WAHOO...for now!

12/22 What a Christmas present. Letter from Gonzaga in large thin envelope. Acceptance and $13,000/year. I am headed to Law School!!!

1/3 Call from Michael Johnson Dean of Admission at WNE. Congrats on admission and offer Merit scholarship of $20,000/year.

1/17 Bored and called Penn State. Application is complete and currently being reviewed. Texas Tech also let me know application is complete.

1/19 Received small letter from Penn State. I'm really disappointed because I was only accepted to the part-time day program. This was my number one school, but I can't go to part time program. Pretty disappointing.

1/25 First Rejection, but I really don't feel to bad because I saw it coming. Kentucky sent a small letter with 3 paragraphs saying thanks for the application fee....but NO.

2/2 Received CONGRATS e-mail from Rutgers-Camden! They will send letter and t-shirt soon!

2/9 Received letter from Texas Tech in standard envelope. Congrats and scholarship info. The offered $3000 in state scholarship, which would treat me as a resident (saves $7000/year). They need a deposit by Feb 20th which seems a little crazy.

2/23 Received e-mail from Financial Aid at Cincinnati saying congrats on my recent acceptance. I called the admissions office just to make sure...and yep I've been accepted! Letter went out 2/22.

3/7 Booked visit to Cincinnati! Leaving on Friday and will visit the school on Monday! I'm super excited to check out this program!

3/13 Just got back from UC. Absolutely loved it there. I'm pretty sure I'm packing my bags and headed out to Cincy!

3/19 Recieved letter from Baylor. I ws rejected for Fall 07 but offered admissions for Spring 08.

3/20 Sent in notice to withdraw to Gonzaga. I just want to free up the scholarship money for other students.

3/31 Rejected at ASU. Not too sad, wouldn't have gone there anyway.

Right now my list of schools is not even close to set. I really want to get away from the west and so have focused on mainly schools towards the eastern part of the US. I have a few schools I consider safety schools just in case my LSAT isn't as high as I hope. Again, this is a very rough list and will be finalized when I get my score.

Great GPA. Good luck with that LSAT. I've managed to get through my undergrad with very little debt and I'd like to make it through grad school the same way, hence Utah and BYU. Good luck with the apps. Sorry for the drubbing my Utes had to put on your Ags earlier this season.

Good luck

Thanks for the good wishes and I'm sending out good luck vibes to you as well for a great LSAT score. Only 1 week until scores come back!

I feel your pain. I was practicing much higher too :(

LSAT

Good luck with apps! I have a disappointing LSAT too. My GPA is a lot higher in comparison to my LSAT. I didn't do well on the SAT either, but in college my grades were close to perfect (2 B's) out of like 80 classes. What's the deal? I'm applying to a few schools where my grades will probably be the norm, but OSU is a reach. I would love to go there though for location, school and everything. What about you, why OSU?

good luck!

My first choice would be the University of Texas....but from there on I can't decide, maybe University of Florida, I think I want to stay in the warm weather, but that could change. It's wierd that your practice lsat score was 8 pts higher because mine was too, but now we just have to hope for the best and that our GPA will help out. Keep in touch and good luck!

Our numbers are very similar, and we have applied to many of the same schools. I wish you the best of luck this cycle! Let me know how things go.

...a true aggie? It might help your apps if you are.

Oh man, I definitely hear you on the LSAT disappointment ... my score was also a good 5-6 points lower than my practices. :( Ah well, what can you do --- I ended up just rolling the dice and hoping early applications gave me enough of an edge. Good luck to you!! :)

Re: congrats

You'll get your first 'in' soon, I'm sure --- it's a great feeling!! :) I'm honestly not sure where I most want to go --- it changes every week. I'd be all over going to UMiami if it wasn't so expensive!! The waiting is the worst part, though, so hang in there! :)

Same thing happened with Penn State with me, oh well, i really didn't think i was going to go there anyways but that still sucks. Anyways good luck with the rest of your applications and congrats on your acceptances!

Rutgers

Congrats on Rutgers. Did you get accepted through their Jump Start program? That's what I was offered but I haven't received any info on it yet. Do you know anything about it?

Rutgers

In the JumpStart program you take 1 class during the summer which decreases your Fall course load to 3 classes rather than 4. After that you resume the normal course load in the Spring. I think they offer it to those with slightly lower LSAT's but higher GPAs and other strong soft factors. It works great for me b/c I have young children and have been out of school for quite a few years and it will give me a chance to get back into the swing of things. good luck with the rest of your cycle!

Gonzaga Congrats

I just found out from Gonzaga too. They sent me an e-mail to some admitted students online chat. Strange, but glad to know I was accepted.

I'm glad to hear you liked Spokane. I hear mixed reviews from people but the DVD looked gorgeous and the cost of living is just too good to ignore. I'm hoping to visit on march 31st for their next event.
