that's an impressive list you have there! what's your #1? As always, best of luck,
- papercranesBest of luck. I'm betting you get into quite a few of those schools. I'm sure the only difficulty will be choosing.
- dotlynMaybe we will both wind up in NYC!
- PennyLaneI hope you have a great cycle. If your essays are anything like your LSD posts, you will have a nice list of acceptances to choose from.
- JNSLHello! Good luck this cycle!
- lukecwatersWe're almost numbers twins. I wish you the best of luck this cycle, from one LSD'er (the forum, of course!) to another!
- HopefulApplicantsimilar #'s... good luck w/ your cycle... we're applying to a lot of the same schools.
- bringtheraine"UnbiasedObserver!"
- HopefulApplicantI'm sure you will have plenty of exciting acceptances to look forward to this cycle!
- vertigogood luck! we have similar-ish numbers (you clearly win on GPA though). i'm hoping for hastings...
- asymptotalsThey don't know what they are missing. If NY or T14 are important to you, then I bet Fordham and GULC will be bitch slapping each other to get you.
- PennyLane:-( I'm sorry that Columbia is stupid. You don't want to go to that horrible school anyway. You will get into plenty of places before it's all over. Keep your chin up!
- dotlynColumbia is a TTT in decline!
- PennyLanegood luck fellow LSDer! You will get a lot of hits out of those schools!
- gclemen1we have a lot of the same schools picked out... of course your lsat score is slightly better.. congrats on getting into fordham and i'll keep watching
- amfermay i ask where you are from bearlylegal?
- amferCongrats man! Maybe we will be classmates
- FutureLLPWay to go man!
- XxWaitlistedxXHey there. Just thought I'd say hello from LSD and I always enjoy your posts. you may be one of the few people not interested in biglaw on that board. Congrats on Fordham btw. Good Luck.
- thecrashharder1On Fordham!
- kmhenry42I hear that Cornells suicide rate is really high, so maybe a blessing in disguise
- billt568Congratulations on Fordham. Did you apply soley for the PT program, or for FT too? Also, good luck on GULC PT. With your WE and GPA you should be in by now!
- mpaulehow did cornell inform you of the status (email or letter)? I just went "Decision" on their status checker but I'm stuck at home, so I'm hoping if it's a letter it didn't get sent to my school address... good luck with the rest of your cycle, and congrats especially on Fordham!
- metaomniI appreciate the kind words. It's all right, though; I really shouldn't complain. I have many viable options to consider, and I hope you will have the same (and you do, with Fordham!). Take care.
- HopefulApplicantthat's the number of acceptances you get out of this list out of those pending. you applied to way too many reaches.
- honest manProbably true, but I lost nothing by gambling. What's your dysfunction?
- bearlylegalyou don't get into that you applied to without fee waiver= $500-750. You "lost nothing" by "gambling?"
- honest manand that is not including the three you were already dinged by...
- honest manTime will tell if you are right. The money is infentisimal and a complete non-issue. If I end up at Fordham I am a happy camper anyway.
- bearlylegalAnd FYI, I was Fee Waivered at 14 of my 20 Schools, including 2 of the 3 that dinged me already.
- bearlylegalHow did you go complete at St. Johnnys
- billt568Oh my goodness! Congrats! That's a boatload of $$ too!!!
- tinkerbelle010Congrats on Fordham! Now tell them to let me in too, we've the same index and I'm from a distressed country too. In fact, I'm distressed right now.
- traffic777On your acceptances thus far! I just got my Michigan rejection as well...whatever! I hope you do awesome with the rest! I'm pulling for ya!
- drew82abndivThat's a big wad of cash you got there sir! Think about it, if you go to Fordham with no $$$, you'll end up ~180K in debt and it's NYC Biglaw or bust. Much better to relax and enjoy the Big Easy than turn into a corporate whore.
- XxWaitlistedxXYou could be a courtroom lawyer dressed in white with red suspenders,, dabbing the sweat off your brow as you cross examine a southern debutante on the murder of her husband, all the while speaking in a cajun twang.
- billt568Waitlisted: I think you are right. I have done the NYC Biglaw thing, and it's not for me. Jambalaya, on the other hand, is DEFINATELY for me. :) Bill: Dude... You just totally sold me on NOLA! ^_^
- BearlyLegalWaitlisted: I think you are right. I have done the NYC Biglaw thing, and it's not for me. Jambalaya, on the other hand, is DEFINATELY for me. :) Bill: Dude... You just totally sold me on NOLA! ^_^
- BearlyLegalJust out of curio, why no Big 10 schools on the list, Bear?
- XxWaitlistedxXThose schools in the Big Ten athletics conference. You know, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio State, Minnesota, etc.
- XxWaitlistedxXGood job on Tulane. Good luck with the rest of your apps.
- kev199my prediction remains correct. i think you may squeak into Emory off the WL though.
- honest manUhuh. Let's wait and see, shall we?
- BearlyLegalUhuh. Let's wait and see, shall we?
- BearlyLegalMy condolences with re: Berkeley rejection. I know the feeling, mi amigo. I was getting my hopes up too... But the past is past. I'm impressed with the Tulane scholarship offer. That's a pretty chunk of change! Where are you leaning right now, if you don't mind me asking?
- HopefulApplicantI hear ya on Boalt. That one hurt me too. I heard nothing for three months, when many people on LSN were being outright rejected or deferred. My hopes were up, but oh well. What's done is done, you know? As for your decision (I'm basing it on the schools to which you were accepted so far), it depends if you want biglaw or not. If you are a biglaw or bust kind of guy (and I don't think you are, but you might be), then Fordham is the best option. If you don't mind not getting biglaw though, I'd go with Tulane or St. John's. Personally, I'd go with Tulane, because the NY market is fierce. However, if you really want to stay in NYC, then I think it might be your best option (I'm assuming your scholarship requirements aren't too stringent for either school.) I wish you the best of luck with your other applications.
- HopefulApplicantI'll bet you're just as tired of waiting on Davis as I am. Just wanted to wish you good luck!
- JessicaThanks, Jess! But do you mean Hastings or UCLA?
- BearlyLegalThat's so strange. I could have sworn that you had applied to Davis.
- JessicaI'm curious - are you on the regular waitlist or the priority waitlist for BC? Do you know if there's a difference. I'm also on the WL so I'm curious - thanks!
- wisher23Congrats on all your acceptances! I imagine you are deciding between Fordham and Tulane so far. I went to Tulane undergrad and having nothing but great things to say about the school. Good luck with the rest of your apps!
- teddygrams23for the duke waitlist :)
- papercranesWow, I'm impressed. Congrats!
- HopefulApplicantThanks! I am keeping my fingers crossed and working on a good LOCI
- BearlyLegalYour prediction proved incorrect. Thanks for playing.
- bearlylegalHooray!
- tinkerbelle010glad you got in to BU. But Fordham is better. go ther.e
- honest manPT vs. FT is my primary concern. Also, my family is in Mass and I am very tired of NYC. Why is Fordham better? It\'s ranked lower, places worse, and noone outside NYC knows what it is... What do you think?
- NAME REQUIREDI did not notice the PT thing. I think BU is better than Fordham PT unless you have a compelling reason to work while in school. But Fordham is better for NYC, and given that Boston is a tough market to begin with it makes more sense to just go to Fordham IMO. But not PT. So call Fordham, explain the situation, and see if they're willing to let you switch to FT. If so, then you have a real choice to make.
- honest manOn getting into BU!
- bezzinBU just gave me 30k and I will try to get them to raise to 45. Fordham def. won't match. Thing is, I have a very solid "in" with NYC biglaw. If I do well enough in either school to do Biglaw, I am guaranteed a spot at a V15 firm, so I am not too worried about NYC placement. Thanks for turning around man.
- bearlylegalWell I filled out a bunch of financial aid forms and they informed me of the scholarship a few weeks after. Looks like you got the same scholarship as me though. Congrats!!!! Are you seriously considering BU?? It's down to BU & W&M for me. When do you think UVA is gonna get back to us?? It's been sooo long and their application checker still says "Not Yet."
- triplevkidHow are you gonna ask BU for more money?? Formal Letter or E-mail?
