To the people out there who are hopeless because of a low LSAT score, do not give up God is good. Where we are weak he is strong just call on him and he'll be there right on time. God I thank you for the blessings you've already bestowed upon me thus far.

Interested in Intellectual Property and Corporate Law!

P.S. Clinics are important!

So, there is no way i'm going to Cooley!

Suffolk is expensive, but it's a good school. This school is really great on communicating with students. I have received more e-mails from Suffolk about webinars and scholarship opportunities than all the other 12 schools combined.

Florida Coastal is all about the $$$. I will not be attending.

Michigan State waitlisted me YAY!!!!!!! I am in love with MSU...GO SPARTANS!!!

John Marshall rejected me via email. My cousin graduated from there a year ago and still doesn't have a job.

I received my acceptance letter from Thomas Jefferson in a big white envelope. Another expensive school.

FIU decision rendered, letter sent in the mail via status checker

In at UDM Law Status checker read "Please call Admissions Counselor" she informed me everyone who got accepted status read this!!!!!

Also rejected at Temple via status checker.

Finally received my letter in the mail from FIU. I was waitlisted.

Waitlisted at Whittier via status checker.

Michigan State begins to re-review applicants on the waitlist.

Michigan State - application for direct admission has been denied, invited me to apply to MSU's Legal Education Opportunity (LEO) program.

Rejected from Southwestern via email!

USF status checker read decision mailed.

Received USF decision by mail and it was a waitlist.

Accepted into FIU part-time program off of the waitlist.

Officially accepted into MSU after enduring a rigorous LEO Program. If you do the LEO Program you are required to start as a part-time student. Hard work pays off!!!

Ultimately I chose FIU Law over MSU Law because of the tuition difference and the fact that FIU was the only good school to give me $$$.

I don't receive notifications from this website and law school will have you busy. As far as the MSU LEO Program, I would advise that you do it. Yes, it will be an intense 6 weeks, but it will allow you to see how law school is without investing alot of money while also allowing you the ability to still possibly get into MSU Law. I was accepted after the summer program, but did not go because it was cheaper for me to go to FIU Law. What you will learn is that most of it does not depend on what law school you attend, but who you make connections and network with along with interning. Good luck sorry it took so long to respond I know it is probably too late as it is May, but hopefully you decided to do the MSU LEO Program.

You might have a low lsat but you have a very high gpa! Reach higher!! Apply to some schools way out of your range. You may be surprised!! You are a URM and a boost will be given to you!! Be Greedy!! Good luck!

You dont like any of the hbcu's like NCCU, FAMU or Southern? They are very affordable and you would easily get into those.

  • HBCUs
  • Thursday, October 06 2011 at 04:33 PM

I was going to apply to Howard, but I realized how much I like diversity.

  • ok
  • Saturday, October 08 2011 at 08:00 PM

Dont be cautious. You are going to lose at least one case in your life so why are you afraid to get a rejection letter? Cast a wider net. Plus speaking on diversity, black lawyers are going to be make up the majority of your network when you practice. The legal field is incredibly racist. Google...racism in law school 101

  • Goodluck.. But?
  • Saturday, October 29 2011 at 06:27 AM

Good luck on your cycle. I hope those aren't all the schools you are applying to? With your numbers and being a URM, you can get into a T1 school easily. Up north their are many schools you can go to including U Conn, St. Johns, Benjamin Cardozo, and Also Howard U. All those schools starting salaries are in 100k + and Howard starting salaries are up to par with T14 schools. Yep, their average is 150k. So you should look into that.

Congrats on your acceptance to ALL your schools! I'm glad you're showing all these nay sayers that lower LSAT scores don't mean anything! And I'm glad to see (according to your comment) that you've applied to more schools. I really hope you get into the one's you really want to go to! I'll be watching you! Continued good luck to you! :)

Thanks a lot Beth I have to admit I'm not conceited, but convinced that I wrote a wonderful personal statement. I have applied to 12 schools in total.

- luvya683
  • Wednesday, November 02 2011 at 04:18 PM

There is a major difference between conceit and confidence. Nothing wrong with that! Heck, I feel like I wrote one heck of a PS too! LOL. Even the 1 person from this site that I let read mine said it was a "very, very good" personal statement! I truly believe that personal statements can, and do, sway admin committee's if there are factors that may be less than stellar. A great ps can seal the deal! :) Keep us posted on the other 9 schools!

Niesene, Yes you can always switch from full-time to part-time or vice versa once your admitted, but it will require the dean's permission.

How has your cousin's legal career been since graduating from John Marshall? I'm curious because I got accepted there and I'd love to live in Chicago, but I'm afraid of not getting a job by going to the lowest ranked school in that city.

My cousin who graduated from Atlanta John Marshall has been unemployed for almost a year and has decided to do contracts for people here and there. I don't know about Chicago.
