ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

Applying for Fall 2008. Wish my GPA was better, but hey, what are you going to do. Lots of things strung together to cause it to be so low.

Took the LSAT Junior year, Sept '06.
I'm a definite splitter. Happy to be where i am, and almost certain about my decision.

If i didn't get a "complete" email, i'm marking the decision date as the complete date.

7-25-07 - Signed up for LSDAS
9-2-07 - LSDAS received first recommendation
9-19-07 - My personal statement is DONE!
10-5-07 - LSDAS received my transcript
10-19-07 - Started sending applications, received fee waiver from Miami

11-08-07 - Email from Emory, application complete. That's fine and dandy, just tell me if i'm in already people!! ha
11-12-07 - Completion email from Tulane, Wash U and USC haven't even received it yet, weird

Letter(regular mail) from Wash U notifying me of receipt and completion of my application

12-08-07 - Not only is it my 21st birthday, but i just got accepted to WASH U! Letter came normal mail, just one piece of paper in a regular envelope. Scared the crap out of me. But who cares, i got in to a top 20 school
12-10-07 - Rejected at UT-Austin. First ding had to come eventually
12-21-07 - It's been almost 2 weeks, tier 4 law school, like 10 minutes from my house, but who cares, i'm 4-1 now. Into Nova, email with link to their application status and a pdf letter.

  • Tuesday, October 23 2007 at 11:43 AM

The school I go to gives A+ grades. While they don't count for anything more than 4.0 at the school, LSAC counts an A+ as 4.33. So my 4.0 became a 4.05. It is weird I know.

I hope GW is a safety. Their new medians are pretty intimidating, though (167/3.75). The only good thing about those kinds of medians, however, is that they MUST have given a lot of splitter-love last year. Hopefully they do the same this year. Good luck with your cycle, see ya in class.

- JNSL
  • good luck to you too!

That is hilarious that you received an acceptance without even applying. I did apply there as a safety but quite frankly they didn't offer me enough money for me to take them seriously. I know my numbers aren't astounding but come on! Either way, getting acceptances for schools you haven't even applied for HAS to be a good sign for how this cycle is going to go for you. :-)

I was in DC last spring, working for Sen. Kennedy, and would really like to go back for three years, if anyone in that area is kind enough to accept me! The Office is almost out of episodes, so I'm near tears too. So where's your number 1 right now?

Yeah, I feel the same way about the scholarship thing. They threw the scholarship info in there to keep us looking for info although it won't come. I'm not too optimistic. I read somewhere that everyone is considered for scholarships any my GPA just doesn't cut it I don't think. I plan on keeping my expectations low so I can be pleasantly surprised.
