12/8 IN AT NYU by snail mail purple folder!!!!!!
WOOHOO!!!!!!!
My cycle is done!!!
1/11/08. Update: Apparently my withdrawal email crossed paths with Georgetown's acceptance letter. I wasn't home to pick up the letter or the two Christmas cards they sent, since I was in CA for the holidays, but they were nice to see upon my return. Made me (sort of) regret applying ED to NYU, since it would have been nice to visit Georgetown, at least. And the personalized comments from the dean are super nice.

Good Luck! Friday, October 12th, 2007 at 12:43 pm
Our profiles are similar, except that your numbers are much better than mine. Best of luck!

I'm sure that schools will take your pre-med curriculum into consideration when looking at your splits . Plus, quitting med school for law school shows big time commitment. You should be in great shape. Don't worry about your list - you will definitely get into at least one of those schools, so no reason to add other schools you wouldn't want to go to as much as any of those. Congrats on having the conviction to make the switch, and best of luck!

"Plus, quitting med school for law school shows big time commitment."
No it doesn't. In fact, quite the opposite.

gee, thanks for the encouragement...
anyway, it was actually 5 yrs into an MD/PhD program before i quit, so the reversal isn't as wishy washy as it may seem.

Someone's impersonating me! Monday, November 19th, 2007 at 10:22 pm
The first comment wishing you luck was really from me, but the "Flip flop" one was someone pretending to be me. I'd never think anything like that! Sorry he/she was so obnoxious! And really, good luck with everything!
Hi Tuesday, November 20th, 2007 at 12:24 am
Thanks! Good luck to you, we look like pretty good numbers twins here, and I'm sure you'll have no problem with Gtown. Good luck with NYU, it's one of my top choices.
Why not more? Friday, November 23rd, 2007 at 7:44 pm
Are those all of your apps in their totality? Why not throw a few more into the mix? You'll definitely get into at least 2 or 3 of those, if not all, but why not spend another 300 bucks?
NYU vs Columbia Sunday, November 25th, 2007 at 2:29 am
Good question! I would love to have the conundrum of having to pick between the two: either would be amazing. I'm a little bit turned off by the larger class sizes at NYU...but I'd still go there in a heartbeat. Why do you have your heart set on it?
I know... Monday, November 26th, 2007 at 11:22 am
...13 is a bit more than I had originally intended, but fee waivers made applying widely a bit easier to stomache. You sure seem to have an interesting story with the med/law switch...I'll be interested to see how things play out for you; please keep me posted!
p.s. I'm also jealous that you went complete at Duke so quickly! I submitted 10/31 and still haven't seen any changes in my compulsive status-checker-checking. :-)

Did you manage to get a MS or something out of your 5 years as MD/PhD?
I think Washch is right on; your intense curriculum will mitigate your split, and your obvious intelligence, demonstrated in your LSAT score, your MD/PhD curriculum, etc , will triumph. Also, you can't be jealous of me; your numbers and your resume both seem better than mine

Thanks Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 at 10:53 pm
for the congrats! I have a feeling NYU ED is going to work out very well for you. I'm keeping my options open for the moment, but I must admit that HLS is a pretty big draw. :-)
Thanks! Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 at 11:40 pm
Yeah, I heard from Duke today around 6pm...it was a nice suprise, since I had sort of forgotten about it and was working late (darn Sydney/DC time differences!)...but it's nice to know I'm in somewhere. :-)
Thanks! Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 at 9:25 pm
I know what you mean about Gtown taking forever...I LIVE IN THEIR CITY, for gosh sakes! :-)
Thanks Friday, November 30th, 2007 at 3:07 pm
For editing my PS! Best of luck to you this cycle. :-)
hah Saturday, December 1st, 2007 at 11:30 am
yeah...like that's going to convince me =]
GOOD LUCK! Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 at 8:12 am
...looks like you won't need that. I definitely considered Med too though I don't think I did well enough in college. I'm pretty psyched about the law thing anyhow - keep me informed and best of luck! YOU WILL DO AWESOME!
Thanks! Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 at 2:40 pm
for the well wishes. Here's to more nonTrad success! I think you will have a great cycle.
Luck to you too! Monday, December 3rd, 2007 at 4:54 pm
Awesome stats, you're in the catbird's seat! Hope you kick some A$$ this cycle!
Thanks... Wednesday, December 5th, 2007 at 11:46 pm
the best part about Duke was that the JD/MA e-mail came around 430pm, and the "we may have allowed your ID to be stolen" e-mail came about two hours later. Oh, Duke.
Congrats! Saturday, December 8th, 2007 at 5:40 pm
Well well well, congrats.
Now let's see if my ED pulls through:/
BTW, what state was the decision mailed to?

Congratulations on your NYU acceptance. And now you are done. Think of me biting my nails as you relax and enjoy the interim before 1L starts :)
Congratulations to you, too! Saturday, December 8th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
I had no doubt you'd get into NYU :) I think it's going to come down to NYU or Michigan for me, regardless of how the rest of my cycle turns out. Maybe I'll see you in NY! Enjoy your time off before law school!
So Good Saturday, December 8th, 2007 at 7:15 pm

Congrats bluegenes Monday, December 10th, 2007 at 5:34 pm
I just figured out that this is/was you. Chances are I'll see you at NYU next year.
honestly Tuesday, December 11th, 2007 at 8:52 am
assuming I get into columbia it's going to come down to money and the commute. Columbia's med/dental school is in the far north of manhattan so it's not like we'd be on the same campus anyways.
NYU Wednesday, December 12th, 2007 at 4:55 pm
CONGRATS!!! That is awesome, well done!
thanks Thursday, December 13th, 2007 at 10:26 am
easy for you too say =]
Thanks Thursday, December 13th, 2007 at 9:12 pm

Thanks! Friday, December 14th, 2007 at 8:22 pm
Thank you for the congrats! I'm very happy to have the acceptance under my belt. Congrats on your acceptance, as well!
NYU Sunday, December 16th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
Does it feel good to know exactly where you will be in 8 months?
If I had the numbers NYU would be my choice over HYS anyday.

le sigh. Friday, January 11th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
thanks for the continuing encouragement...i already have two good choices, it is just a bit paranoia inducing to have to wait so long! i have a feeling it will be a busy two months as things gear back up, though...
Congrats! Sunday, January 13th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Congratulations on NYU! Will you be attending an ASW?
Thanks! Tuesday, January 15th, 2008 at 9:53 am
I'm thinking I'll go to the first one on March 7. I'm within commuting distance, so I might make an additional trip some other time.

NYU ASD Wednesday, January 16th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
I hadn't actually thought about attending one, but since my parents live right outside the city, I could maybe catch one when I'm home to see them. Let me know when you decide which one you're going to. It would be great to meet! I have a feeling, though, that we might find we're scarily similar :)
thanks! Monday, January 21st, 2008 at 10:56 pm
thanks borders! phew
NYU! Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Hey there, thanks and congrats to you too! I knew you'd do well. I think I will be attending the first NYU ASD. I kind of love the school already but want to get to know it better.
NYU ASD Monday, February 11th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
I just RSVPed for the one on March 7th. Have you decided yet which one you're attending?
nyu Tuesday, April 1st, 2008 at 7:36 pm
