Additional info & updates

Missed the 4.0 by 1 B+!!! Not that it's that serious anyway.

Stanford 1 because Yale & Harvard can't compete on weather. Hate having UF eighth.

Fee Waivers: Michigan, UVA, Columbia, Harvard, ND, GW, GULC, Chicago, Penn and about 1000 others. Irony? None from UF!!! New waivers/Invitations to apply - Duke, Cornell, NYU... Does anyone know if schools in California give fee waivers?

Completion Dates from email, status check or return mailer.

Finally!!! In @ Stanford today [letters says money to come later].
Penn phonecall this morning @10am...why would they think I was awake?
Georgetown email with admissions info/congrats, mail on the way.

Harvard early morning voicemail, email and then midday call!!! Ok, Mr. Stock I got it. All 12-14-05. Somewhat relaxed though but would like some $$$ to make a final decision. Plus, wouldn't it be great if Yale would admit someone? anyone?

Withdrew from GW today [12/05/05] good luck to GW applicants.
Withdrew from UF on 12/07/05. Good luck to UF applicants.

Yale Phonecall from Dean on Cell... IN!!!!!

Out of town so can't check mail for about 2.5 weeks...

Decided to withdraw from Columbia, (They take too long and I have no desire to be in NY) and Penn as I decided realistically, I am not going there. Now It's between Stanford, Harvard, Yale and GULC...

I hope so, but you should get into Stanford and every other school no problem. Good job getting your apps complete. I'll be watching your profile to see how long it takes to get a decision.

nice!

Congratulations!

That's fantastic! Congratulations on your acceptance. You have awesome numbers. I would definitely go to Stanford if I knew I had a chance. I'm from Cali so I'm biased. But yeah, I go to UCF. How did you know? Can you tell by my numbers? ha ha. Wish me luck as I'll need it!

Congrats on Stanford!

Super-high numbers, languages, publications, sports, URM....looks like you'd have to take a suicidal step with the PS/letters to be rejected anywhere. Sweet. You've earned it. One Q: Are you going to withdraw from 2-8 since you're in at choice #1, or are curiosity/money going to have you wait it out? In any case, congrats again on a wonderful record and several more admits to come! Have a lovely December.

Trying to get out of the swamp

Hey. Yeah, I know I should but I applied to FSU but I'm really wanting to move out of Florida. I've been here for too long. I need a change of scenery, that's all. But if they give me fee waivers then I'll apply.

no shame in the game

That's how I felt about undergrad, too--no preference strong enough to rule out the other (especially financial) factors. Now I have a rather definite top choice, though, which is terrifying. I suspect I'll have huge loans wherever I go, but I'm really not going to know anything until this spring. The schools you're looking at have vastly different sizes/locations/"feels," so I'm sure it'll be a complicated balancing act in the end. Any idea what you want to do with a JD?

congrats

Re: law profs & debt, many of the top schools (almost definitely Stanford) have BEAUTIFUL loan repayment assistance programs. I think Yale's is the most generous, actually. The gist: for nonprofit/academic/public_interest legal workers (or, with Yale, for all low-income workers), they'll give you new loans to cover a portion (sometimes 100%) of your debt payments each year, and then those new loans are completely forgiven after a certain number of years in the program. Sorry if my description just made no sense, but you should look at the specific programs and talk to your pre-law advisor about it.

Congrats

from a fellow Gator on getting into your top choice. Best of luck on the $$$ front, as you're a lock across the board for admission.

You are amazing

I'm sure you don't care about your Penn acceptance now that you're in at stanford, but for the rest of us... you're still the only one to hear from Penn, probably because you're such an amazing candidate. Have you received your snail mail letter yet? If not, can you post it when you do? Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the congrats. Your a good brother (as evident by you consistent words of encouragement to everyone). I also like the screenname. Good Luck with Yale. and Harvard.. I'm sure you're in, but it would be nice to see you at Columbia. And congratulations on Stanford!!! I'll be looking for great things to come from you.

Congratulations, and two quick questions
Friday, December 31 2004 at 07:00 PM

Hey, congratulations on the acceptance! I have two questions for you though. It would be awesome if you could answer them. I got a W on my transcript (non-punitive, non GPA counting,) Did you have any Ws on your transcript, or do you know anybody that has one or more and will it affect my acceptance into Harvard, Yale, etc? (Considering I get a high GPA and a high LSAT? (E-mail me or leave a message with the answer in my profile) Also, if you dont mind, could you tell me how you prepared for the LSAT?

Congrats Man

Win-nowing advice

You will have some difficult choices, poor you! Forget about Georgetown. Too big, for one thing. Columbia does take forever, and people tend to be MISERABLE there. Harvard is more bravado than REAL reputation. Yale or Stanford. Stanford for ambience. Yale cuz it really is tops. You're stuck in a win/win situation. (Go Tar Heel BB.)

Stanford, Harvard, Yale, and GULC??
Tuesday, September 27 2005 at 08:00 PM

I'm just confused why you haven't withdrawn from GULC. Granted, I'm not a rankings whore and would choose GULC over a lot of higher ranked schools, but given that you ranked Penn 5 and GULC 6 I'm a little confused. Anyways best of luck!! You have AWESOME choices

its good to see another gator being so successful in their apps. hopefully my app list will begin bearing some resemblance to yours in the next month or so

Columbia. . .
Sunday, December 25 2005 at 07:00 PM

. . .takes its time. Their loss, I think. Reputation for good education but the misery factor is high.
