Keep Hope Alive Brutha! Apply to where you want and give a HELL of a PS. I'm sure you got alot to talk about from being a P.O. and working in Law Enforcement for so long.
thanks for the encouragement man. Good luck to you as well!!
thanks for the encouragement man. Good luck to you as well!!
I appreciate the kind regards. We've applied to a few of the same schools, so good luck and congratulations on your acceptance.
In at 1! hopefully the rest of the cycle goes well!
on Loyola, that is so awesome.
See this is why I love lawschoolnumbers and my fellow HBCU'ers! Good luck to you as well, what is your top choice?
My top choice is Temple. I would really like to practice law in Philly as well. My ap is complete, just waiting and waiting and waiting!
Good luck to you too man. What are your top schools you are hoping to get into besides Cornell?
Congratulations on Loyola. Good luck the rest of this cycle.
Congratulations on Loyola. Good luck the rest of this cycle.
Congrats on Loyola but hope you get your wish for Temple! Hopefully some answers will start coming in for me too.
To God be the glory! Congrats on the Rutgers acceptance. Our numbers are close and I've been watching your progress.
Wow I find that to be incredible. You getting into Rutgers a tier 2 is awesome!! I applied there also, and hear I might actually have a decent shot, b/c that school looks beyond the numbers alone. I would love to go there with you, I am hopeing for the best. Congrates again, and good luck on the rest of your cycle.
Congrats on Rutgers! Glad to see it coming together.
On your acceptance Rutgers! Our numbers are similar man. Maybe I'll see you in the fall. 2nd tier, not bad at all bruh!
with your apps! I'm also waiting to hear from Mercer... Crossing my fingers. Best of luck!
thanks for posting. I was actually considering Mercer too but just never got around to it. Anything else stand out during your open house?
Its a great school but nothing else really stood out...the law building is a little dated but they have began renovations and have upgraded the technology..the atmosphere is great. The students and faculty seem really close. If you want to get into legal writing its definitely the place to go. Overall the school seems nice. Im a city boy so if i decide to go there i will HAVE to commute from Atlanta which is about an hour or so away from Macon.
Yeah, I looked at the site again and remembered I wasn't too interested in the school. I am definitely a city girl, so I just might have a bit of a hard time getting used to a lot of these schools, but such is life. Anyway, I hope you get more good news.
on rutgers!. sorry for not posting my congrats earlier. wow! that is sweet. no matter what happens now at least you KNOW you are going to law school. good luck with the rest of the apps. i was wondering if you have family in philly, since you want to practice here so bad. did you mention anything in your temple app about the sp. A.C.E. program? have you visited yet? if you have any questions about temple feel free to ask. good luck with the rest of your apps.
about the waitlist. i expect one too.
Thanks! Is it one of your top choices if you get accepted?
Yes it is...im in Atl now and trying to stay in GA
Oops, not quite sure about when I went complete. I will find out and update my list. I remember contacting them because they never sent anything...Hopefully Temple will give me a chance!
I'm sure you'll be attending an amazing law school! But you should have got your mind right in undergrad and went to HOWARD U! lol J/K! Congrats! Best of luck to you in the rest of this cycle!
hey im not exactly sure what to tell you...i didnt even know GSU had an online status check so i received a letter...if it says decision made though then you should have a letter soon
i just read that if you get a 12 month lease by june/july you can get in-state tuition for ru-n. just a head's up. take care and good luck on those pendings.
hey i just moved to atl, but i'm from nyc w/ almost exact #'s and we applied 2 most of the same schools did u apply to newark under the minority student program and submit supplemental info 4 them to consider u under...let me know...and yeah howard is my 1st choice...one of their recent grads is my mentor..so i'm praying...big time...any advice..stay encouraged and best of luck!
about nyls. but they do pale in comparison to rutgers. also, just about all of your pendings are awesome schools. it's going to be very inteesting waiting to see which of these you get into first. take care and good luck with the apps.
Sooo sorry about GSU!!!! I was going to ask how you found out so fast, but I 4got you're right there in Atlanta. I'm still waiting for the mail to see my decision. Again, soo sorry, I'm shocked too, considering the ties you have to the area. As for NYLS, I'm struggling with that conditional program. I already got myself comfortable with leaving NYC so not sure I wanna do the conditional program. I have to read the papers to see what it's about (my friend read me some of it when I was away). Anyway, don't worry. You still have Mercer pending. I know how much you wanna stay in ATL. Either way, I'm sure you're going to get other acceptances. I'll check on ya later...
Thanks, I hope so too!! Yes, im interested in Criminal Law and Public Interest Law as well.
So will you be attending the Open House coming up in a couple of weeks?
congrats on the acceptances, but hey if you decide to not attend rutgers, could you please inform the admissions office whenever you make your decision?
let the hatin' begin...LOL NO GSU, NO SHU!! NO GSU, NO SHU!! LOL... Anyway, thanks a bunch. I will continue to pray for you on your apps as well. We both still have UBalt...Hmmm...
Listen man, NYLS is expensive, and not very good. I got offered that conditional program as well. Who do they think they are? I guess the name of the school confuses even them!!!!! Good luck man, u definately dont need them.
You have my sincerest gratitude for being so empathetic, while I was clearly wallowing in my law school valley yesterday! Good luck on Howard, I won't stop praying!
HU took me off their waitlist automatically. 2-3 weeks after I got the letter saying that I was Waitlisted, they sent me an acceptance letter. I would just sit tight and wait.
Congrats on Maryland!
if you wanna practice in DC or in the south, you are better off in Maryland i think... plus im almost positive its ranked higher then rutgers... i didnt do my research all that well, but maryland is a good school. its a bit regional from what i know. they have dorms though, which is great... most schools dont.... take the highest ranked one if you wanna end up back in the south... everyone knows where md is but not everyone knows rutgers... good luck and congrats. look on lawschooldiscussion.org for me details from people on each school
Rutgers and UMD are both great schools but it also depends on where u want to practice. If u want to be in NY or pass the NY bar then Rutgers is definately where u should go. If ur interested in the MD/DC/VA area that UMD is a great choice. Either way ur in a great position. Congratulations!!!!
awesome, man. just awesome. i would visit both schools and decide on feel. if i had to choose right now it would be maryland. the maryland name might go further in ga. i bet you'll become a big time atty pal. congratulations. how does it feel to be going tier1?!?
Hey. The campus is quite nice. It is downtown... a few blocks from Camden Yards and right near the inner harbor.... so, the campus is very urban. The law school building is new (2002/2003)and is a very large, aesthetically pleasing building. Diversity was a big factor for me too. Baltimore is an incredibly diverse city, and the law school is one of the most diverse law schools in the country. With respect to the question of competition, I would just be guessing. I am assuming that most top 40 schools are pretty competitive. I visited during exams (probably not the best time to go). So, I couldn\\\'t get an accurate feel of the competitive environment. Good luck with your choice, and let me know if you have any more questions.
Nah... I wish I was getting in-state tiution... 27K is definitely a lot of money.... my other option (Miami) is private and that would set me back 32K a year. I am actually going to call Maryland today to see if I will be eligible for in-state after my first year, which will probably be the determining factor for me... I will let you know what they say... are you getting any closer to a decision?
Congrats on choosing Maryland!
Great choice...well, you probably couldn't go wrong with either RU or MD. I have a friend at MD who's getting her PHD. She loves it. I think you will too. Congratulations and Good Luck!!
