Additional info & updates

1/10- Michigan deferral letter. Boo-urns.

1/17- IN AT CHICAGO!!! By phone.

1/29- Guess Michigan liked that LOCI and additional LOR- IN!!!

An odd week:
2/6- Wake up to find 1st Reserve notice from CLS in my mailbox. Wah-waaaah. Send LOCI (by email) and additional LOR (by snail mail) to CLS, plus NYU and Harvard, since I haven't heard anything from them.

2/7- Get Harvard deferral email in the AM. I'll take it. Timing seems odd, since I sent them LOCI mere hours ago. Cut to PM, when bf calls and tells me NYU acceptance just arrived. TIIIIIIIGHT!!!! Minutes later, get email from NYU, letting me know that the additional info I sent them will be added to my file for consideration. Oh, silly NYU. I love you so.

2/9- Got the Darrow application invite today.

2/14- In at Northwestern.

2/15- Withdrew from Penn, Duke, and UT. That's a weird, but kind of awesome, feeling.

2/29- Full Darrow. FULL. DARROW!

3/10- Got my official Darrow letter in the mail today, AND a half-tuition scholarship to Chicago! Also, I spent the whole afternoon playing with puppies. Pretty good day.

4/1- $10/10/5k Dean's Award scholarship from NYU. Nice.

4/6- In at Stanford. Wow.

4/9- Starting sending out withdrawals. Feels really weird, but nice to know I might be helping people out/ freeing up some money.

This is MCB from LSD/TLS. You seem like a cool person and your PS was pure hotness. Good luck with your cycle, I feel that you will rock it out. If you need some imput, feel free to ask. Also, BLSD has some good info (admissions, scholarships, etc) as well.

Thanks MCB!

no one's ever read it! It's such an incredible book, but DeWitt hasn't written anything else (and it doesn't look like she will). I never get to discuss it with anyone, and any time I mention it people think I'm talking about that mediocre Tom Cruise vehicle of the same name. *sigh* .

Good luck!

We have relatively similar numbers (I'll likely be 3.25-3.35/177 when I apply). Also a URM. Will be following your profile closely! Good luck!

Gluck!

I know, we are twins!! Well hopefully we will both have positive results. You're applying to a lot of top notches!

good luck

As near number twins, I'm hoping our cycles are equally successful.

Thanks. Yeah, I thought it was excessive too. I applied to all the places that were free/gave me fee waivers...which was a lot. Although, the way the cycle has gone so far...I might need that many apps to get in somewhere.

Best of Luck

I'm sure you're going to hear back pretty soon.

why no HYS?
Friday, September 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

Because I wasn't trying to go to Cali (and there is a lack of black students at SLS, they have a hard time getting them to come and black community is imp. to me), YLS isn't my cup of tea --too small, not as many choices for classes, etc...and HLS...eh, I probably wouldn't have gotten in. I'm still in shock over all of the success I had with the t10.

Congrats!

On Chicago!

Oh Elise....

Am I the only one who thought she was majorly hot? That skintight black undershirt was great.

Congrats!

Personally, I like to proselytize. I plan on buying a stack some day, stamping them and leaving them in hotel rooms like the Gideons. I will change the world. Nicely done on your cycle, too. If you get that Darrow, I promise to go have a drink in your honor (or, possibly, have the drink regardless.) Good luck with it!

thanks!
Tuesday, September 25 2007 at 08:00 PM

Wow, congrats on the Darrow invite! Most of the people who get the invite get the $$$. That is awesome.

LOCI?
Friday, February 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

Wait, you sent an LOCI to Harvard BEFORE you were deferred?

Congrats!
Saturday, October 20 2007 at 08:00 PM

On the Darrow invite - that's awesome! You mentioned in your info that you emailed your CLS LOCI...do you know offhand who you emailed it to? The email in the letter?

Congrats

UChicago

congrats to the great acceptances and scholarships. how and when were you notified of the uchicago scholarship?

Thank You!
Saturday, October 27 2007 at 08:00 PM

Well, I really don't know why the cycle went the way it did. I think it had a lot to do with my GPA. I was ecstatic about Columbia. Where are you leaning right now? NYU? Good Luck with your pending apps!

LSAT
Monday, January 15 2007 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your cycle. How did you prep for the LSAT?

Congrats!
Saturday, January 12 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on the Darrow! Please think about withdrawing from NYU or Columbia if you are really not considering them.

Congrats!

CONGRATS on Stanford! That's awesome. Consider spending the next three years of your life in perfect weather...

congrats man
Friday, March 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

haha you definitely give me hope. how long did you study for the lsat?

Almost as good as yours
Saturday, June 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

Wow on Stanford. That's one school that might have competed with the Darrow (but then, I'm from Palo Alto). It gave me pause when I saw that semesters at California schools are called "Fall" and "Spring", while the semesters covering the exact same time period at Michigan are called "Fall" and "Winter".
