We have similar numbers and lsat scores and are also applying to some of the same schools. Good luck!
Good luck in your cycle and I am happy to see that all you app are done. Please update as often as possible.
We have the same index score... did you get any scholarships? Also, what did your accpetance letter look like? Was it an envelope or just a plain letter? Thanks.
Yay!! I'm super exicted to get in! Congrats to you! Which is your first choice?
Similar numbers and schools...good luck! 1- What's your number 1-3 choices? 2- How did you hear from American (email, snail mail)?
Sounds good! Congrats. When do they let you know about scholarships? What type of law you want to practice and where?
I'm in Teach For America and it has changed my career path. I want to practice public interest law...but due to high tuition costs...I will do corporate law for 3-7 yrs first, then do public interest law. I'm not sure where I want to live. Hopefully I will get into a t14 school so the degree is portable.
CONGRATS... im in as well.. and am grateful to have options.. We have comparable numbers and similar to you Im wishing to get in any top 20. The wait is long.. but im hopeful.. Good luck!
Congrats on AU!! Great school...I also have applied there and I am keeping my fingers crossed! Your acceptance give me some hope that the lsat score is not the principal stat in their admission decision process. Great job and good luck with the rest of your cycle.
My top choices are NU, Cornell and UPenn. If those don't work out, I will end up at UGA. Goodluck with your cycle!
on AU!!!! Having options feels good doesn't it! Good luck with the rest of your apps!
Congrats on your acceptance into BC. And your progress with Berkeley. I'll keep your my fingers crossed for you with that school as well.
Congrats on BC! You are having an awesome cycle! Keep it up!
I am sooo Happy for you!! BC!! and further review for BERKELEY!!! amaaaaxinnnnnggg! Santa came through for you. You give me hope... CHEERS!
Not too shabby..hoping a t14 school will come through soon :-)
Congratulations on your acceptances...
Thank you. Do you know what type of law that you want to get into to?
Ya, I've always wanted to do something involving sports. I actually took an intellectual property law class last semester, which was interesting. I was amazed at how interrelated the two subjects are. Good Luck.
hey congrats on BC, I so wished I had sent out my applications earlier.
Happy New Year! Good luck with law school decisions...January should be "the" month.
Indeed....here we go!
hey, i also went to decision yesterday. good luck!
...CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS on UVA. That's great. You're cycle is turning out to be quite incredible. How were you notified?
congrats on virginia on man!
Congrats on UVA! I received the good news today as well - good luck on the rest of your cycle!
CONGRATS ON UVA! ROCK IT OUT!
Congratulations on UVA! That is so amazing!
FREAKING A ON UVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, if I get pulled off of UVAs waitlist it's on!
How long after your acceptance letter to Miami were you notified of your scholarship offer?
Congratulations! You deserve it!!! I'm happy for you!!
Note: In response to an anonymous message received. I've only taken the LSAT once.
Thank you. Life will be great at top 10 school...but also lots of debt...kind of scares me...A LOT!
Congrats on Cornell! Found out I got in today also =)
Congrats on Cornell today! They let me in as well :) Good luck with the rest of your cycle, but it seems you won't need it ;)
I can't believe we both have t14 OPTIONS! Who would've thought!?!? Congrats!!
congrats on Cornell!!! I got in this week too! :) Maybe I'll see you there next year. haha. good luck with the restof ur schools
It's between NU and Cornell...leaning towards NU. Money talks though. You UVA or Cornell?
In-state!?!? Lucky you...I am going to have to pay lots for either NU or Cornell.
Congrats on your cycle. We have similar numbers. This cycle is killing me but watching your profile gives me hope.
CONGRATS!!!! yayyyy, i'm so happy for you... especially since you got into your top choice.
OMG, you are freaking awesome. BERKELEY!!!! That's soooooo incredible. CONGRATULATIONS times infinity. LOL, yes, and breathe. I want you to maeke it out there. Congrats again. You need to celebrate!!!
On an amazing cycle this year. Best wishes to you at Berkeley next year.
withdraw from USC for me!!! haha. congrats on the cycle though.
congrats on such an amazing cycle! best of luck at berkeley :)
Congratulations on getting your #1 choice. Maybe I'll get your spot at U Va :) Good luck at Berkley.
on Berkeley! I know exactly how you feel/felt. Off of FacComm myself. Just dropping by in order to get to know as many likely Berkeley Law Class of 2012 as possible. Keep in touch. Maybe we will go out for drinks during ASD?
on your amazing cycle!! I got waitlisted at Boston College and need you to withdraw so I could get in..hahah
Well thank you.. i appreciate that.. i will tell the admin committee that you feel that way..lol.. Have fun in Cali for the rest of us!
Wow you did great man. I wish you the best at Boalt.
man u got berk, virginia, and cornell. there aint no way u going to usc. u should just withdraw right now. haha you will really like berkeley. its a cool spot. i wish i wouldnt have fooled around so much in college bc gpa cost me all the good schools. i would have for sure came back here
On your acceptance into Berkeley!
It's a beautiful thing!
Soo its hard to tell at this point.. since im waiting to hear from a couple of schools, interview at Cardozo next week.. and am on the waiting list at 3 desirable schools.. but I keep thinking that if nothing else works out I will be at American!
Wow, Congrats on all the acceptances you have received!
please elaborate on your two cents...I am going insane over here.
Thank you. I've been going over some of the same points you have been talking about for weeks. Prior to visiting Chicago, I was ready to put a deposit down at DePaul, but now I am trying to consider all of my options. I eventually want to be the general counsel of a sports franchise. There are various ways to get there, but the big firm route seems to be the easiest. I eventually would like to practice in California, but I wouldn't mind Miami or Chicago. I initially wrote Miami off because I am deathly afraid of hurricanes, but I see now that it was stupid conclusion. I am trying to get more money from Southwestern and hope to transfer, if I do well enough my first year, but that of course is a risky proposition because no one knows how they will initially do. I put money down on Southwestern today and I am thinking about putting the initial seat deposit down at either Miami/DePaul, though I have never been to Miami. Thank you again. Good Luck at Berkeley.
Haha...I am actually looking for flights right now. Do you live in FL? I like CA/NY because if I don't get into sports there is a chance of getting into corporate/entertainment law. I would assume Florida has more minor league teams than CA/NY because the sheer size of FL. I can guarantee it will be an interesting month.
Yes it definitely is a blessing. I'm ridiculously happy, lol. Congratulations on one hell of a cycle! Have you settled completely on Berkeley?
I would love for Vandy to be a definite but they haven't let me know about fin-aid yet and, unfortunately, in this economy, WUSTL's 25K per year is kind of difficult to just pass up. BUT I'm going to contact Vandy's financial aid office tomorrow morning. Wish me luck! lol And that's great on Berkeley. Let me know how ASD goes!
Very inspirational and equally truthful. Congratulations to you and best of luck!
Congratulations on Berkeley! Say hi to Professor Smoot for me!
So thankfully I got into Loyola, because flights to Miami were waaaaaayyyy too expensive and I'm on a very tight budget. Haha
As of right now, yes I will be going to Loyola but they haven't offered me any money. Their cost of tuition is $4,500 less I believe and I have the option of staying at home for a year. But the Northwestern degree is after all a Northwestern degree and there are at least 2 alumni who have become the General Counsel of sports franchises. I am leaning more toward Loyola though. I should know in 3 weeks.
yea, you're right. but i am thinking W&L bc it is in the middle of no where and i know i will grind that first year. i want to transfer back to my undergrad (berkeley, which you will be attending lol) after my first year. so if i'm stuck in the middle of no where then i will be forced to study hard. i'm not sure right now what i wanna do, but i better make up my mind in the next few days. thanks for your opinion! if you need some info berk, just let me know.
Looks like we'll be in the bay together...I'll be at USF. We'll have to link up. My youngest cousin just signed a letter of intent to play at Cal. So I'll be at the games every week...
Hi! I just came across your profile and your final post is so uplifting! do you have any advice for a newbie about to apply for the 09 cycle?
Just to add mine to your already long list of comments -- thank you for being so positive. I will be applying in the upcoming cycle and find what you have to say uplifing.
Hey, I came across your profile and just wanted to say congrats to a great cycle! I have similar stats and am retaking to up my 153 (also a URM) but you give us 153 scorers hope! :-)
for your "final post." I'm just getting into the law school admissions process, but your words are certainly appreciated and highly respectable. I am sure you were accepted to Berkeley in part for the maturity and kindness you demonstrate via the manner in which you represent yourself to others (like on this site). Berkeley is my dream school; I would hope they choose applicants based on their achievements, perspective, and hard work, rather than based solely on their LSAT score. Berkeley claims to be less in the "numbers game" business, and I think your acceptance helps to prove that. Congratulations! Enjoy your time at such a wonderful school.
best of luck! your accomplishments this cycle really give me hope that i also can do as well....i hope i had even as half as the achievements you made this time around! enjoy Berkeley! maybe in the future i will see you there :)
Your profile was inspiring as I went through the most challenging time in my life earlier this year. I didn't even consider applying to T14 schools until I came across your profile. Thank you for the inspiration. Good luck at Berkeley!
U inspire me.Thanks u. U know i sit at work with people who have 4.0s and can probably get 170s on the lsat...but i get more done than them and they are definately not smarter than i am. a 4 hour test is definately not everything..there is more to an application.
Its great reading through your timeline of acceptances. Very inspirational. Its been a year, but congratulations again!
Good luck on the LSAT! What are you practice testing at?
