Extra Curricular Information

Welcome to my profile.

I have extensive work experience in the legal fields of litigation and regulatory work. My background is diverse (I am a dual national). Looking forward to going back to school and taking my career to the next level.

Additional info & updates

My #s are back up.

12/10/06 - First Sign of the Apocalypse - I am going to law school.

Bitter-Sweet day. My dream school waitlisted me. Not a rejection, but not the acceptance I was hoping for either. Time to hit the phones and start sending continued letter of interest, etc.

12/30/06 - Visited Drexel Law. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. This is now my #1 choice. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for good things!

My next choices are, in order, McGeorge, Loyola, & Detroit (which is already in the bag). So far so good.

01/05/2007 - Rec'd Acceptance from Widener! My choice of Campuses and Programs (FT/PT). Awesome feeling to have options!

01/13/07 - Rec'd Acceptance from St. Thomas U. Don't know too much about this school. Time to take a closer look! =)

01/23/07 - ACCEPTED! HOLY SH*T! (Drexel)

01/25/07 - Drexel called, and offered me $22,000 a year. Officially the best day of my life!

01/28/07 - Widener extended an offer of $30,000 worth of scholarship money.

01/30/07 - Loyola NO placed me on the ol' waitlist. Bummer. I really liked the school, and it would have been an amazing place to study.

02/02/07 - Waitlisted at Howard. Might need to pay D.C. a visit. I really like this school.

03/12/07 - Accepted Students Day @ Drexel was great. I am set on this school. I will withdraw from my other acceptances. Regardless of what comes in from my other schools, I will be at Drexel next year.

05/01/07 - Rec'd letter Loyola w/ acceptance and $4,500/year scholarship. I spoke with the admissions office confirming that I was withdrawing, and I am already committed to going to Drexel.

Western State University—College of Law

Does anyone have any information on Western State? I have looked at their numbers and it seems I have a strong chance at getting accepted there, but I don't know very much about the school. Also, their ABA accredidation is provissional...

LSAT
Wednesday, August 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

That's funny. I talked with the folks at LSAC and they said 5. I am pretty certain about that. My old score is still posted on my profile. You are right about retaking the LSAT, I should. I just hate the idea of having to do all that crap again.

Hey good luck this cycle!
Sunday, August 21 2005 at 08:00 PM

Hey amigo, good luck this cycle. I would apply to more schools if I was you, you never know!! Hey try some tier 2's you might just make it being a URM. Also send out some more safey applications, try out the schools that accepted me! Good luck this cycle.

Good Luck
Sunday, July 02 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the kind words and I hope you make it into the school of your dreams! i do think that it helps if you apply early but with the new LSAT rule, most schools will only take your highest score, so by all means, do what you have to do and retake!!! good luck!

score does drop in 5
Sunday, July 02 2006 at 08:00 PM

by the way... i had taken lsat ages ago and it gets purged in 5 unless you expressly request that it be kept on file... again, with the new rule, your high score is all that matters for most schools.

Wuddup Bro, Yea I decided to take the plunge again and retake the LSAT. For some reason I can't get any higher on the scores; my timing is really bad i guess, cuz I never manage to finish sections.... Anyways back to practicing

loyola
Tuesday, August 15 2006 at 08:00 PM

pry not heading to loyola. It was the only school still accepting after I took the LSAT for a second time. Trying for some other schools instead. Where are you thinking? White Devil

thanks
Tuesday, August 15 2006 at 08:00 PM

My priority is finding some warmer weather than Chicago. Any CA school would work, but I have my heart set on Wake Forest, which may be a reach, but according to their literature they take the HIGHEST LSAT, so I may be have a shot. Are you looking to apply to Loyola Chi ?

Thanks...
Tuesday, June 27 2006 at 08:00 PM

..for the comment. I see you're trying to stay in CALI which is nice. There are lots of schools there. My only advice (I also applied last cycle) is to apply as early as you can. You have a unique background so I think schools will find that interesting. As for Loyola N.O. I also hear good things about, I'd like to visit it something though.

Good Luck
Sunday, August 20 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the comment. The LSAT was brutal but we will see what happens. The U.S. Atty's Office is a really good experience if you ever get the opportunity. When did you start to apply? What are you writing about in your personal statement?

Thanks for the encouragement
Monday, June 19 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks! It looks like you have a strong profile. Best of luck to you.

re: UofD Mercy
Tuesday, July 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

I haven't had a chance to visit UofD Mercy's campus yet, but I have lived in Metro Detroit my whole life, and been in the area around the campus. From their website, it looks like the Law campus is right in downtown - by the Renaissance Center. Contrary to popular belief Detroit downtown can be quite nice. Especially the area around the RenCen. The past few years things have been revitalized and with the Superbowl here last year, downtown got a major makeover. As far as the schools actual rep - I'm not sure yet. I think the rep in Michigan is pretty good, but if you will be going back to CA to practice law, I doubt most people out there will know much about the school, but that's just my guess. Anyways, good luck with all your applications!

Personal Statement
Wednesday, August 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Who knew it would be so difficult to write about yourself. It was much more tough than I thought it would be. My PS is under revision and apps should be going out shortly. Wish me luck! =)

good luck.
Monday, April 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

hi. i just got your post. You seem to have had a tough time with the lsat. Btw many big-city schools will not consider latinos as a minority so be mindful of that

URM
Monday, April 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yes, although i may not be considered a urm by many schools there dont seem to be many with low minority (Asian) populations where i stand a chance of getting accepted.

UD Mercy
Saturday, July 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

I haven't heard much (good or bad) about UDM but the Detroit area is a great area to be for immigration because of the proximity to Canada. I wouldn't doubt that they have a great immigration program. And there is a US Immigration service centre right there too. Based on your profile it seems like a great match for you! Also, you can get a joint both a JD and an LLB (Canadian law degree) at the same time in only 3 years if you want enhance your international marketability. Good luck!

dual national
Saturday, January 21 2006 at 07:00 PM

I suppose it depends on with what country you are a dual national. Not that the UK is that interesting but I'm going to write about it in my diversity statement partly because I've lived there and partly because it fits with my larger goals

Thanks...
Tuesday, April 04 2006 at 08:00 PM

I wish you were right, but I think the Harvard donation is enough. Plus, I would pick Stanford over Yale... On the realistic side, I will never be faced with that decision. My 3 hours of glory can't completely erase 4 years.

Applications
Monday, June 19 2006 at 08:00 PM

I am not taking the LSAT again until December. I am applying to about 10 to 15 Law school where I think I have a shot. I am already starting to apply, so I have a huge jump on things compared to last year. I am then going to study until the Dec. test. I am giving this my all, I know it will pay off in the end.

Thanks...
Tuesday, September 05 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks. If i can make the same increase you made, I will not be upset one bit. I constantly do practice test and the LR is doing fine. Its the RC thats so inconsistant. Any advice?...

School GPA vs. LSAC/LSDAS GPA
Wednesday, August 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

How can you tell the difference? I checked the GPA on my transcripts on LSAC, but I heard that your school GPA isn't always you LSAC GPA.

Thanks for the comment
Wednesday, September 06 2006 at 08:00 PM

The reason I didn't go last year was that I really wanted to get into Minnesota, and I had a pretty interesting job lined up. I also applied very late in the cycle and I think that hurt me. So I decided to work a year and reapply. What have you heard about Roger Williams and Pepperdine? They are some places to which I may yet apply.

Apps?
Tuesday, June 27 2006 at 08:00 PM

Did you send out all your apps already? Good for you! I think I'll send out in Oct, I still need to finish up my PS.

In Response
Friday, January 20 2006 at 07:00 PM

To the question you posed to me, i didn't go to Yale then because there was something i wanted to complete ion school this year, my hope was to be bale to complete and then go to the best school possible. i had hoped that would be Yale but as of now that will be Columbia.

GPA
Tuesday, August 22 2006 at 08:00 PM

Degree GPA is apparently only my GPA at my degree-granting school....which is like day to my past GPA's night. Hopefully my huge upswing will help me out. Good luck this cycle!

Thanks
Friday, January 20 2006 at 07:00 PM

Thanks! Good luck to you too, in this cycle, hope you get the schools you want!

#1
Tuesday, June 27 2006 at 08:00 PM

Well...I'd say Mercer was #1 but that's my reach haha. Like you, I really like Loyola NO. But a close second would have to be St. Mary's. You've applied to many schools so hopefully you'll have some options!

thanks...T2
Sunday, September 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

I believe I will add some T2 schools to my application pool...Some admissions professionals have indicated to me that a UGPA that old is very stale. I read your profile and you have an interesting background...Spain, Big East college, and then living on the west coast. As far as the LSAT... I used Kaplan and then PowerScore for the LSAT prep and I found that PowerScore provided me a substantially better education and strategy for taking the LSAT. Although I scored a few points below my practice test scores, I account this to personal test anxieties, etc. that can never be simulated during test prep. I would strongly suggest that you attend at least one of the LSAC Forums and discuss your application data with each school. I went last year and found it very helpful, and I plan on attending the one this year in Atlanta. I'm sure they will be much more helpful this year since I will be able to provide them with an LSAT score...that was literally the first question everyone asked me was have I taken the LSAT...if not, when are you taking it.

Good luck!
Friday, April 21 2006 at 08:00 PM

Goodluck with your cycle! I certainly have my fingers crossed.

Good luck
Tuesday, May 09 2006 at 08:00 PM

Considering your work experience and your soft factors I'm sure you'll have a good cycle. Good luck.

Do you have an idea what kind of law you want to study? With your legal experience, you could do anything.

yup
Thursday, August 31 2006 at 08:00 PM

yeah i retook it...i think i bombed the reading comp section tho..for some reason it was so hard...i talked to a friend of mine who took the same reading comp section..he was averaging in the high 150's but after he did the reading comp section he canceled his score...that is how hard it was...hopefully it didnt bring my score down too much bc i think i did decent on the other sections..im just hoping i guessed really well on that reading comp section

my rankings
Tuesday, July 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

I would definately LOVE to be accepted at UofM, but even if I get in there I'm not totally sure I would go there. I know people will be screaming "how could you turn down a t14 and go to a TTT or T4 instead??" But, IF I do get in there I will serisouly have to weigh all the factors - which are mainly the fact that I will be practicing law only in Michigan and does UofM's national reputation really matter that much to me over local reputations, especially for the cost. However, I am putting the cart before the horse. Let's get that score back first! I feel ok about my performance, but it's hard to say, I now wish I had tried to guess my practice test scores so I would know how good of a judge I am of my performance. I was scoring in the mid to high 160s on practice tests, so if I get below a 165, I'll be very disappointed. And if I get below a 168 I may not even bother applying to UofM. As far as coming down to a choice between Ave and UofD...Ave's reputation for an awesome faculty interests me, but to be honest the whole debacle with Tom Monaghan and maybe moving to Florida scares me. Reading up on the board of directors vs. dean vs. faculty vs. alumni makes for quite the soap opera. On the side of UofD, there seem to be a lot of UofD alumni working/partners for the large firms in MI, so that's promising. I'm trying to hold off judgements on any school until the acceptances come rolling in (as hard as that may be)! Wow, sorry for the excessively long comment!

No Loyola Yet?
Thursday, June 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'll race you to apply first! Heh, thanks for the comments on my page, and most definitely congratulations on getting some apps off early...it should just mean that you get early acceptances.

You must be an expert at misconstruing information. I was very clear in stating I have other qualifications and I am not afraid to admit that I am using every advantage at my disposal in order to get accepted. It is the way the world works. Grow up. If you have an angle, play it. Hmm, maybe I should fax you my resume. But since you dont have the guts to use your LSN name, and you posted anonymously, I cant do that. What makes you so angry? Grow up.

Loyola Visit
Thursday, June 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

I don't know about you, but I'm thinking Mardi Gras would be a great time to visit the campus. I have a friend from the area that tells me I need to come and get the full New Orleans experience (sans hurricanes of course), so I'm hoping things work out. I'm not interested in schools in California at all, but I must say Pepperdine looks gorgeous from the pics I've seen. You've got some good schools on your list and I think you'll be pretty happy wherever you end up.

Thanks for the comment. I was just curious how you ranked West Virgnia as one of your top schools. Have you been there to visit? There are a lot of other great schools you can get into with your numbers. NCCU and Florida Coastal have great facilities and programs and are both have beautiful campuses. Just thought you might like to know. Good Luck to you though...and keep in touch. Although we are not going to be attending any of the same schools...it is nice to meet those going through the same process.

LOL A little bit defensive? I wasn't trying to sell you on anything, but Temple is ranked in the T2/T1 range and the tuition is 1/2 of Widener. If you want to go to Widener, go ahead, I don't care. Just some friendly advice. I like Widener and I am sending them an application. Temple is just much cheaper, and if you are a into rankings, Temple has them beat.

University of Detroits program is definitely respectable. You heard right about their Immigration program, it's a leader in that particular field. In Michigan, UDM ranks 3rd behind U of M and Wayne State...

I did get something from Duke today. Just in time too because I've got a crazy amount of school work to make it through this weekend, and an acceptance was a definite pick me up. We're on the second leg of our Loyola race now: the race for acceptance/rejection/waitlist/whatever. I'll keep checking in to see how things progress for you, but I think you'll have some good surprises this cycle.

Transfer Reasons
Thursday, August 25 2005 at 08:00 PM

Legallatin...reasons why I transferred are... 1: PSU is a T2 with regional appeal where Capital is a T4 with mainly local appeal (Columbus, OH). I want to take the PA and NJ bar, so this choice was easy 2: Instead of being 9 hours away from my family, I'm 3 hours away 3: went to PSU undergrad, and now i'm back at UPark

Saturday, May 20 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for saying hi - it is going to be weird going back to school with all these people a decade or more younger than me. Anyway, being from Delaware, I know Widener pretty well - it's very good on Health Care law, but it's pretty expensive. Not far from Philly, but cheaper living cast, which is a plus. Most schools are indeed looking at the higher LSAT score, so that will help you. Good luck!

Miami Law is up there for me. It's easily my favorite city. I'm fluent in Spanish, so it would be a nice place to practice as well. Still, it's not as if I can just walk into the school. I'll keep hoping. Have a great cycle, and if you like Miami, consider applying to Florida International University. It's very new (1 or 2 graduated classes), but it's 1 of 2 law schools in Miami.

Nope...Bilingual from Miami
Wednesday, November 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

I live in Miami. I went to college in Montreal. I did pick up some French there, but I'm so bad at the accent that it scared me away from learning more. Nice language in France, but in Quebec, it's really rough.

Will anyone accept me?!

My feeling is that even if I attend someplace that everyone expects to be sub-par for 1L, I can work that GPA and transfer to my #1 school if the place turns out to be really sucky. While I wouldn't mind going to a T1 school, I'd rather keep some degree of sanity. I go to a competitive school right now -- and I'm not all that impressed. I'm just trying to be realistic about this because I could find fault at Yale. Heh. Besides, the name recognition won't be such a factor for me because I don't think I'm going to be headed into a field that will care much about that. All I want is a decent education -- and while I may be totally naive and idealistic in saying this, I think I can get that anywhere because it's all about how much work I am willing to put into it. And if my future employers can't see that work ethic then screw them. Sorry about the long post and craziness -- I'm just in a a weird mood right now. Best wishes to you in the cycle.

I take it you retook?
Wednesday, November 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

If so, you don't think you performed better? How are you going to handle it? You'll start getting accepted to schools soon and this process will be much more comfortable.

keep you're head up!
Wednesday, November 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

You will get in. Stay positive. Thanks for the info about TJ. Both are good schools. Ultimately, I think I am going to go where I am offered the largest fin aid package.

Very soon
Thursday, June 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

Within the next few weeks I bet you start getting back some decisions. Good things are headed your way I'm sure :)

How have you not heard from Widener yet? Is it not rolling?

How about leaving a name
Wednesday, August 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Then I can stop by and say hello. =)

Thanks
Wednesday, June 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

Hey man, thanks for the comment. I worked closely with the prelaw advisor at Drexel and he helped me out a lot. I got to know the school. While I can't say Drexel is my top choice, it is strong in IP and has a different educational path that has its positives and negatives. Also, the full scholarship doesn't hurt. Right now, I am content with just letting decisions come in and not worrying about it too much. What about you?

Good luck!
Wednesday, September 20 2006 at 08:00 PM

Pepperdine is a beautiful campus. Seems like a great place to go to school.

Thanks & Congrats to you as well!
Tuesday, July 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats on my Ave Maria acceptance - I'm hoping the letter they are sending out have some scholarship $$$ in it! CONGRATULATIONS ON UD MERCY! That's awesome. And good luck with the Pepperdine waitlist, that's better than a flat-out rejection! (but i know the wait must suck)

Congrats!
Friday, October 27 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the acceptance to UD Mercy. Although you were waitlisted at Pepperdine, at least you were not rejected. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Good luck!

Congrats!
Monday, May 22 2006 at 08:00 PM

Glad to see you got in at UDM! Good job!

I knew it!
Thursday, June 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

In at one of your #1 picks, eh? Congratulations on that. I hope it feels really good to be sitting in your shoes right now. I knew someone would come through sooner than later and it can't get much better than it being a #1 pick.

Hey thanks for the word of encouragement! Good luck to you as well. I see that you already have one acceptance! Merry Christmas.

Thanks
Wednesday, June 28 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks man. Good luck with your Pepperdine waitlist...just keep showing interest and I am sure it will pay off. Personally, I love temple as a school and getting a full scholarship from them is definitely a nice end of year holiday gift!

Consider NESL
Sunday, October 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

You should consider NESL if you get in there. Underrated school.

St. Thomas

That was a typo. There is no part time for St. Thomas. You have a good eye for detail, you will make a very responsible attorney ;-)

Congrats
Tuesday, June 27 2006 at 08:00 PM

Good to see you in at UDM! I hear good things about that school. Loyola is starting to let people in but I don't know yet since I'm out of the country on vacation until early January. I'll be keeping up with you and your progress. Just sit back and let things roll :)

thanks
Thursday, August 31 2006 at 08:00 PM

thank u so much that was very nice of u to say....the only problem is i heard widener is getting so competitive they arent taking anything less then a 150 now....so im hoping that is just a rumor! i really dont want to have to move across the country for law school

Nice on the Philly Visit
Thursday, June 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

That's really cool that your application was remembered by those you met with. It's got to be a nice feeling to be something other than a faceless, nameless blob in the sea of hopeful applicants, and I'd be willing to guess that your standout status is a positive. It's after the holiday break, and mail should start flowing again, so I'll check back here fairly frequently to see your status changes. Penn's deferral was basically just an encouragement to send them additional materials if I am to have any hope of getting in. I probably will do it sometime within the next week, and I guess I'll just see how it goes from there. I'm already extremely happy with my cycle, so even if I get crapped on by every other school to which I applied, I'll survive and do so with a smile. Like I said, I'm sure more good news is headed your way, and I'll definitely be checking back to stay updated.

My top choice
Tuesday, July 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

Well, it's hard to think beyond MSU's full scholarship. The first few days after finding out I thought that I would for sure be a Sparty. But now I'm trying to take a step back and really think through all my options & choose the school that's best for me, even if that isn't the school that's offering me the most $. Are you planning on going to any of the UDM openhouses or visit days?

hey man!!
Sunday, August 21 2005 at 08:00 PM

Hey how are things going??!! Congrats on the acceptance to UDM, that is a solid school! Also i'm glad you liked philly, drexel is a real nice campus. Though I never got a chance to see the law school, i heard it is great. Hopefully you get in. Have you applied to IU-indy yet?? Also one thing is for sure, they are real slow about sending out grades. I still haven't gotten mine yet, i'll let you know how things go. Hopefully I did well. I love to read the boards and check up on things, also my apartment mate is currently applying to law schools, both in Indy and others around the north east. I'm helping him along the way. Good luck with the rest of your apps, maybe i'll see ya in philly soon!

Funny you should ask, because I took my lsat there. I met with one of the admissions officers that happened to be there and she seemed really nice and friendly. I was invited to sit in on a contracts class the week after. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer it for you. Congrats on your acceptances and good luck on the rest of the schools

Sunday, October 22 2006 at 08:00 PM

thanks for the comment! i had great LORs, a graduate degree, significant experience abroad, tri-lingual, and a 4.0 ugrad and grad GPA. i was hoping that would be enough to compensate for an LSAT 6 points lower than the average...but I didn't think it was. I wish you the best of luck this cycle! keep us updated

Living in Providence, I know a few NESL grads. All are talented attorneys who have spoken highly of the program there. NESL doesn't deserve to be the "bottom feeder" of Boston but just happens to be due to the competition. John Marshall suffers the same fate in Chicago, yet seems to win all of the moot court competitions, so there. Good luck!

Monday, May 22 2006 at 08:00 PM

I withdrew as soon as they made the offer. Last year, people with my numbers got full tuition, and I had 2 schools offer me better offers already, so I wanted to free up that spot & $$ for others as soon as I knew I wasn't interested in attending there. Congrats to you though! That's great news, getting that offer from a school you like so much!

On Pepperdine...
Tuesday, January 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'm curious about Pepperdine and I know you don't have your scores posted, but do you think you could post some thoughts on my chances? P.S. Congrats on Drexel.

Drexel
Sunday, November 05 2006 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the comment! I am completely torn right now between Drexel and Miami, just visited Miami and loved it and will be visiting Drexel next month. I believe they will be fine on the accreditation, just not sure where the best fit for me is right now. See you in Philly maybe!

Thanks!

Are you considering Widener? My friend just graduated from there and she really enjoyed it.

Re Pepperdine....
Tuesday, January 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

I think that it would be amazing to study law in a place like Malibu. It must be nice to just take a stroll on the beach. I am concerned about the lack of diversity there. Even though it is not on my LSN profile, I am a minority. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Legal, I just applied to schools again for this cycle. I never saw your post last fall until now. Congrats on your acceptances. I have to stay in the area and PT so my options are very limited. I live in SoCal and can tell you there is no place with better weather and Pepperdine is beautiful.

A while ago you left some encouraging words on my profile and I just wanted to say thanks for the encouragement (Duran was THE BEST--I am a former amatuer boxer). I recieved an acceptance from Fla. Coastal and plan on attending. Seems as though we both came through with solid soft factors overriding the LSAT. You have some sweet acceptances, and best of luck--Will it be Wiedner, Drexal, or somewhere else?

hi there~ Congrats on your acceptances!!! all really great schools and it's really reassuring to have options. i know how you feel.. this is also my second cycle applying and obviously, my first time around was a no go... i had a quick question... when you received your acceptances and $$$ offers, had you already sent in your fafsa and financial aid forms? or were those offers based on your academics/scores?

Hey!
Sunday, October 16 2005 at 08:00 PM

hey legal latin! Thanks for the comments man. About NESL: I am actually leaning toward Suffolk because I had a great interview with the dean of admissions, and a alum called me and it was a good talk. I really think it be a good fit. NESL is cheaper, but suffolk may be worth the extra because of the ties in the city and to the state house. You got some amazing acceptances, and scholarships! where you leaning to? good luck now and in the future.

Thanks!

Drexel
Friday, January 19 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hello! I'm going to the accepted students day on the 24th at Drexel. I am excited to see it, as it is slowly becoming my top choice. What do you know about its ABA accredidation? That is the only thing that is bothering me about the school - everything else is amazing!

Thanks
Thursday, February 01 2007 at 07:00 PM

I was really excited to be admitted to Drexel, it's the only acceptance I have so far I would really consider attending. But then when I got the scholarship offer, I was really bummed, because 4k/ yr is really nothing when tuition is almost 30k/yr. Right now I don't know what to do, because if I am still waiting on other Philly area schools, and it wouldn't make sense to pay near full price for Drexel if one of my other pending schools accepts me. And with the 4/1 deposit deadline looming over my head for Drexel, I am starting to feel quite anxious about this whole thing.....

Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on making a decision! Are you also withdrawing from your waitlists?

Heyy
Friday, January 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey, thanks for the message :) I think the move of Ave Maria to Florida is going to be nuts. Not many people understand how affluent and rich the Naples area is. Most people refuse to live there because of how high the living standards are (despite them wanting to actually live there). This HAS to draw some perks, especially since it will be the only school in the southwest florida region within 250 miles (north, south, east, and west). I just visited the school and the community is just like it says but the professors seem harder than I anticipated. In short, like the rule of publicity says, "there's no such thing as bad publicity," in my opinion the Ave will explode soon; very soon. btw...your choices of schools are very well selected. Best wishes to whever you decide to attend!

thanks again!
Friday, January 19 2007 at 07:00 PM

I went to AS day on the 24th and it was amazing!!!! I love Drexel. I am thinking about telling them about my offer from Dayton, along with sending the letter I receieved detailing the scholarship I receieved from Dayton (along with other schools).

Thanks..

But I'm sure we'll be fine. I feel you on the paycheck thing. On the one hand, I'm counting the days till I can leave but I'm sure going to miss the income... anyway, nice hearing from you. I am not too shocked about Chapman, they emailed me twice before WL asking me to explain how I have such a difference between the two LSAT scores. Mind you this was after I sent all the schools an email saying.. here is my new score here is why it's a difference.. Oh well! Yeah I think they got fucked last year and are trying something new this year but it appears to be backfiring.

Ack!

Sorry for the swear words. I have a sailors mouth. Good luck at Drexel!

I can't write the whole letter for you but they basically said that they take question 14 CD and E very seriously (The questions that ask if you have ever been arrested) and that my addendum was too light hearted.

Thanks!

Congratulations to you, too, on your decision to attend Drexel! It really seems like an upcoming school in a great city! Yes, my SLU acceptance is conditional upon my performance at their Summer Institute. I only have to pass both classes I take and the success rate is well over 50%, although the admissions staff told me nearly everyone passes (people who decide to attend other schools and leave the Summer Institute are considered to have failed, thus bringing the passage rate way down). Best of luck to you in law school and congratulations again on getting in at a great school!

So... Found out that I ended up getting accepted at Drexel. It is quite exciting and I really think that is where I am going to end up. I found out that the building they are currently in (the new one) is only temporary. After we graduate there may be a massive new law school. But shoot me an email, we can discuss Drexel Law.

Congratulations!
